25.01.2022 Every Melbourne musicians life goals right now #lockdown
25.01.2022 I got a mention! Thanks for the shoutout, Jonathon. Have a listen to this wonderful interview of Dr Jonathon Welch (Choir of Hard Knocks) on ABC Sunday Afternoons with Angela Catterns. They talk about the essential role The Arts are playing during this stressful and sometimes isolating times. Its an interesting topic, as The Arts (along with other professions of course), have been hit particularly hard during this time. Many people have turn to music, visual art, literatur...e and dance as a way to cope with this new way of life, whereas we have seen additional cuts to funding, adding insult to injury. Angela and Jonathon also discuss technology; having to adapt to new platforms, and the new role it is playing in connecting people in the community again. Skip ahead to 1:36:30 for the interview: (I get a mention at 1:42:20 ) https://www.abc.net.au//sundaya/sunday-afternoons/12101438
25.01.2022 Contact me for lessons, online and hopefully in person soon! Either message me through this page, visit Footscray-Yarraville City Percussion Academy or email [email protected]

21.01.2022 Thanks so much John Ng from Humans of SKY and the Inner West for interviewing me on how coronavirus has affected my business (Footscray-Yarraville City Percussion Academy) and me personally as well. Here are the questions I was asked! 1. How is business? How are you coping?... 2. What are you doing to stay open/motivated? 3. What are you doing to change the way you operate?

20.01.2022 I AM GOING ONLINE!! House studio just about all set up for online teaching (and self isolation ). Due to the recent Covid-19 restrictions - all my private teaching will be moved online as of MONDAY.... This is of course an uncertain time for all of us, but we can strive to keep our positive spirits up by continuing the normality and joy of music lessons. This not only keeps the students stuck at home with a schedule and something to do, but it also continues to spread the positivity and inclusiveness that is music! If you are not currently getting music lessons and are looking to learn a new skill from the comfort of your own home - hit me up! Looking forward to seeing all your faces on my laptop, Katie @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
20.01.2022 Had an amazing time playing in the We Are One Bushfire Relief Concert. Awesome to work besides performers Taylor Henderson, Silvie Paladino, Brian Mannix, Amanda Harrison, Georgia Wilkinson, Shauntai Batzke, John Wayne Parsons and Harriett Allcroft just to name a few. Such an amazing day and cause. Please continue to donate - the impact from the bushfires are far from over.
20.01.2022 Completely forgot to post these photos of my last gig before lockdown!! Must have been the craziness of it all. This was the Womens T20 Grand Final with the D2 Drumline. With a record number of more than 86,000 people and a performance by Katy Perry, it seems like a life-time ago. #ISO #lockdown

07.01.2022 On Thursday I said goodbye to my students, parents and teachers at Rangeview Primary School, where I have been an instrumental teacher for four years. We had our end of year concert, followed by speeches, followed by the parents suggesting an impromptu performance by me (kids chanting) which I did, followed by presents, photos and crying. I have had a wonderful four years as part of this school. I will miss all of these kids so much - good luck on your journeys as percussionists and drummers

05.01.2022 My electric drum kit finally came!! Now I can have the windows and doors open during Spring and Summer and not annoy the neighbours. Ive been chatting with my neighbours a lot, and apparently they cant really hear me if everything is shut but as soon as I open just one window, its super loud ... After lockdown this kit will go to my Footscray studio as the teaching kit. Which lets be honest, is looking like 2021
