25.01.2022 2 weeks ago - how has it been two weeks already?

24.01.2022 Im on a strict healthy eating plan at the moment, which means I cant drink coffee (GASP), or eat my favourite food in the world (cheese). So............... as you can imagine, Im having a hard time staring at this incredible platter of goodness on my screen (thanks Platter Co. By Jade). Coffee withdrawal headaches aside, Im really enjoying working away on this wedding. Happy Monday guys x

24.01.2022 I flew up to Sutton Forrest NSW over the weekend to photograph an incredible wedding for Steph and Nick. Fishing puns were in overdrive on the weekend, but its safe to say that Steph really IS Nicks finest catch. So much love for these two. #nicksfinestcatch

23.01.2022 On Saturday my baby sister married the love of her life. I had the absolute joy of hosting the bridal party at my home. It was LOUD, MARVELLOUS AND SUPER DUPER GORGEOUS. The girls included my daughter so beautifully on the day, as my little Liv was able to live out her dream role as flower girl. I wanted to be absolutely present on the wedding day and soak it all in, so I didnt pack my camera for the wedding, (but I did manage to take some sneaky shots of the girls getting... glammed up in the morning with my Fuji XT2). The colour, vibe and beauty blows me away with this bunch. LOVE. Katie x

22.01.2022 Mid ceremony moments with Bec and Jake. The beauty here blows me away - *how they are looking at each other, *Becs smile, ... *THAT DRESS, *those flowers, *the backdrop, *the fact that its Jakes mother who is the celebrant!!! 20.01.2022 Happy Birthday to my beautiful bride Lauren. I delivered Chris and Laurens wedding photos this week and Laurens response has filled me with so much joy. I wont share it here, but I will do my best to have their wedding blog completed and up next week on my website. 19.01.2022 You guys loved my last facebook spiel, so heres another. Claire and Lukes incredible wedding at 360 Degrees in Queenscliff literally blew me away (it was crazy windy). But also crazy BEAUTIFUL. Spectacular celebration of two gorgeous people.

17.01.2022 Off to shoot my last wedding for the 2017/2018 season. I have a winter wedding coming up in a few months, but technically today is my last for the wedding season. I have mixed feelings (relieved as its been a tiring and busy season and juggle with the kids and Im looking forward to some time off), but also sad - as I get so much joy out of photographing weddings and I will miss seeing loved up couples. So in saying that, Im going to soak up every second of today. Rain, hail... or shine (have a feeling the first two may be on the cards), todays wedding is set to be stunning. Photo below is from Steph and Nicks gorgeous NSW nuptials from a few weeks ago. The sun was shining, and then we experienced a massive downpour, and then it cleared beautifully. Hoping for similar today (crossing fingers) - but if not, weve got this. Happy Saturday - Katie x

16.01.2022 Lauren and Josh - 6.10.2018 Lauren and Josh were married at the GORGEOUS Clyde park by the super talented (and lovely) Chloe Jetson Celebrant. Both Lauren and Josh were so calm and present on the day and their wedding was a perfect celebration of the lovely young couple and their future together. Fur baby Max was a star (being involved in the preparation stages, to his role walking down the aisle, and then joining us for bridal party photos as well). What a special day for a beautiful pair.

12.01.2022 I am delivering this wedding today. My last from 2017. What a year it was. Thanking everyone for the love! My gorgeous loved up couples, the awesome suppliers I got to work with, my second shooters and my friends and family for the support along the way. #1 wedding done for 2018 and another next week. This year is about balance! I am shooting less weddings (by choice) and having more weekends with my little family. My turn around times for weddings are 4-6 weeks and apart ...from this January juggle of school holidays, I plan not to be working late nights. My little one is not so little anymore, so this is my final year before he starts school. I plan to enjoy every free moment I have and I love that wedding photography has given me the flexibility to do that. Its just about finding the balance and I hope that 2018 is the year for that. So thanks for reading this early morning ramble. My husband has left for work and made me a coffee, so I plan to down that and then dive into the day with my kids. Katie x

10.01.2022 Kids at weddings! I get it - our beautiful little ones are lovelily unpredictable. Asking them to come and smile for family photos after the ceremony is sometimes a tough ask. 10.01.2022 Survived todays wedding in 44 degree heat. Stunning couple who were absolute troopers. Happy, exhausted, sore, possibly severely dehydrated Katie now loading thousands of photos onto the computer. Bed is calling me, but its still a while off. Lucky for me I love my job - awesome first wedding for 2018!

08.01.2022 IM BACK!!! I hope you all have had a brilliant Christmas and New Year. We had the most incredible white Christmas in Japan - full of snow loving, snowboarding, family time, adventures and food. ... Back into work mode today. All set for a hot and gorgeous wedding this Saturday. The forecast of 42 degrees is SLIGHTLY different to what Ive had the last few weeks, but BRING IT ON. 2018 is all set to be a ripper year at katie wheeler photography! x

07.01.2022 If only I did Christmas lead up as cutely and calmly as this little poppet (Sophia looking absolutely adorable in her Christmas outfit by Hubble + Duke!) My reality = Me, madly ticking things off my "to do" lists in the lead up to our winter Christmas holiday (6 days to go and counting). Lots of fun photography before then though (2 weddings to finish and deliver, 1 bride location meeting, 1 wedding rehearsal and 1 wedding on Saturday before we fly out Sunday). 05.01.2022 Appreciation post to my awesome couples. ***I seem to attract genuinely beautiful couples! I have met with and booked 3 new weddings this past week and I am so so excited about each one of them. Very different weddings - but two consistent factors - a very loved up couple and the trust in me that a wedding day can be fun to document and not a mega stress. 2018 is set to be pretty amazing here at katie wheeler photography! Wedding #2 tomorrow (and the forecast has dropped from 37 to 31. whoop whoop). So cheers to that!

04.01.2022 Yeah buddy - Im channelling some of the joy and enthusiasm of this bridal party into my Monday attitude, because if Im being honest, I have a mega few weeks ahead, - 20 days to go until we leave for Japan. Lots of work to still shoot, and to edit and finish up, and lots on with the kids too this time of year. The mummy / work juggle is being amped up and I am beyond excited about the reward at the end of these 20 days.
