24.01.2022 We are living in challenging times with the bushfires ravaging Australia. The Blue Mountains experienced the worst of this a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately, for now temperatures have dropped and light rain has been falling the past couple of days. We will be heading back to Katoomba next week after our current guest leaves to continue on with what we started over New Year. Our thoughts go out to everyone impacted by this horror start to 2020.

Kent had to change tactics from continuing prepping and painting the outside to what makes a guest experience BETTER at Katoomba Falls Cottage. Insect screens became our top priority to action. And all thanks to Kent making and fitting these .

17.01.2022 It has been a harrowing few days with the devastating bushfires impacting NSW. Our hearts are going out to all who have lost their homes, habitation, lives and the wildlife. We are being contacted by concerned future guests so we wanted to provide this update. Our home is not impacted nor under any current threat. We are in the heart of Katoomba and the Katoomba Town Centre. As it stands all potential fires that were of concern in that area 2 weeks ago have passed.... The main consideration is air quality as the breeze will dictate the density of bushfire smoke from other localised fires. This is why we have cancelled and are not taking further bookings. Neighbours are keeping us informed daily and we will be at the house again from Wednesday and through to the New Year. We will continue to update guests who have existing bookings in January. Our main concern is your safety and quality of visit at this time. Merry Xmas!! Bring on the rain!!

16.01.2022 While Ive been back at work, Kent has been working hard at Katoomba Falls Cottage. This is how you turn a negative into a positive and take advantage of guest cancellations - some well needed maintenance. I cannot sugar coat any of the past few weeks, nor can any of our neighbours and community. All I can say is that the Blue Mountains are back in business, the rain is falling , the business community needs your help.... For us, we cant wait to welcome our next guests over the Australia Day long weekend.

We are totally into repurposing what we have in the yard and have already made great use of logs for borders and tidied up the herb and cacti house.
