21.01.2022 This is such a difficult time in the world. It’s all a bit surreal, somewhat like a movie set wondering what will happen in the next scene. I’m sure you will nod in agreement, but I am just gobsmacked that only a mere 8 weeks ago, we didn’t have a care in the world !! And we had an abundance of loo paper and pasta ! Look at us now. I just wanted to say ... To my beautiful couples that are heartbroken that their wedding events have been postponed - it’s OKAY. When the time is right, we can smile and hug with a grin so full of joy and happiness, rather than stand 2 metres apart and wave in fear. Grandma and Grandpa can be there !! Put it this way: You are saving lives by changing dates. You want your wedding day to be full of love, hugs and kisses !! But today respectfully, I feel for the families that are grieving in loss. What a hard time to learn how to navigate the journey of grief distancing from loved ones - my heart goes out to you. Restrictions as to the limited numbers attending funerals (10 only ) and with quarantine in place means that there are many who cannot attend and many silent tears shed alone. And in times of complete sadness to reach out and hug someone to show them that you understand their pain is naturally what we do as humans, as family as friends. My heart breaks for you all. So how can we help ? STAY CONNECTED Talk to friends on the phone, set up an e-coffee in Messenger or Skype in the safety of our homes. Time is what we have to share : and if all I can do is share my time with you to show you I care , then let’s do it. Have family dinners in a different format. TOGETHER & UNITED when the time is right - we will appreciate our moments together so much more. 05.01.2022 It is a bit of a minefield at the moment with marriages and the restrictions here in Victoria ; thought it best to keep you all updated IN MELBOURNE & MITCHELL SHIRE ONLY: Weddings can have a maximum of five people (the couple, two witnesses and the celebrant). ... You can travel to a wedding outside of metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire if you are getting married, are a witness or the celebrant. You cannot travel to a wedding outside metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire as a guest. The restrictions apply based on the location of the wedding. REST OF VICTORIA: Up to 20 people, in addition to the celebrant and couple being married, can attend a wedding. The one person per four-square metres rule needs to be followed. If a wedding is in a home, it will be limited to the members of the household plus a maximum of five visitors, plus the celebrant. If a wedding ceremony is in a restaurant or café, the group maximum is 20, plus the celebrant and the couple.

Up to 20 guests can attend a wedding, including children in addition to the couple and celebrant. If the wedding is in a private home, it’s limited to the members of the household plus 5 visitors and the celebrant. If a wedding is in a restaurant or café, the group maximum is 20 guests plus the celebrant and the couple. Up to 50 people can attend a funeral in addition to the people conducting the funeral. Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire - From 11:59pm on Wednesday 22 July, weddings and funerals will be restricted across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire. Only 5 people the couple, 2 witnesses and the celebrant can attend a wedding.
