16.01.2022 THE RAIN HAS PASSED AND WE ARE GOING AHEAD!! We have decided that Session 1 will go ahead from 1pm. We understand that this may not be possible for all and will offer a refund to anyone in session 1 that can no longer attend. We will start Session 1 from 1pm-2:45pm. Session 2 will commence later at 3:30-5:30pm. We will run to the same timetable. 15.01.2022 At kazzajazz, we study different dance genres and encourage our students to find their strength in doing what they love as well as being the best that they can be! Today I would like to give an insight to everyone about the wonderful association and syllabi we follow and teach for Jazz & Tap, ADA (Australasian Dance Association - Formerly known as the FATD) Please read this info: The Federal Association of Teachers of Dancing was established in 1931, making it the LONGEST est...ablished dance organisation in the southern hemisphere. Catering for all styles of dancing, FATD enjoyed extensive growth in a short space of time to the point wherein the early 1940s it necessitated the dividing of the ballroom and theatrical styles into separate branches so as to enable them to operate more efficiently. Attention to detail and the regular updating of syllabus requirements since those early days have allowed the FATD a long history of recognised high standards in syllabus technical work and quality rated qualifications of which so many are justifiably proud. Recognising the need for teachers to be more widely trained in areas peripheral to actual dance technique, the syllabus requirements for teaching qualification examinations was expanded as from January 1, 2000, to include the demonstration of actual teaching ability, a knowledge of music in relation to dance, the study of anatomy, physiology and psychology, first aid and safe dance practices. Hip hop and street tap became part of the syllabus in 2006 with combinations in every grade. Now, by 2020 children can undertake examinations from Pre-primary Up to Bar to Gold Star in Jazz & Tap and Student Teachers can get expert tuition with a teaching accreditation. I can't say enough good things about this syllabus as the past & present dancers at Kazzajazz are reaping the benefits of a solid and technical background in dance education!
