19.01.2022 Well what an amazing four days our leadership team has had! Our annual leadership retreat started on Thursday with us staying at the beautiful Agnes Water Beach Holidays for three nights. We were then fortunate enough to visit the Steiner school Goora Gan on the Friday morning. We were able to see how their program runs, meet the passionate and inspiring principal Mel and see their facilities. We spent the rest of the day relaxing on the beach and spending time with one ano...ther. Yesterday we woke up early to make the trip out to lady Musgrave for the day. With a day full of boat rides, snorkelling, turtle spotting and adventuring on the island, we can defiantly say it was a great day. A big thank you to the owners of Kids Capers for organising such a great trip away for our leadership team! They show so much dedication towards their positions and the early childhood industry, it is so essential they know how appreciated they are.

12.01.2022 Learning Perspectives! Each and everyday we learn something new from our little people at Kids Capers! Children's perspectives are so pure and untainted by the world, they can teach us so much if we take the time to see the world from their eyes.

12.01.2022 Our playgrounds are starting to take shape!!! We can’t wait until they are finished to share them with you.

11.01.2022 Letting children lead in play is a great way to find out what they are most interested in. Children have amazing imaginations and most of the time you don't need any special toys or equipment as the children will lead the way with whatever interests them and is available.

09.01.2022 As the weather warms up and we hit the water remember the importance of water safety and teaching your little swimmers "safety first"! Kids Alive is a great resource for parents with lots of tools to help you teach water safety.

02.01.2022 Today Miss Katie, our Centre Manager from our Northgate Centre, presented at the Department of Education’s Professional Development session; Using the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) to improve transition to school practices for children and families. The AEDC measures five important areas of early childhood development physical health and wellbeing social competence... emotional maturity language and cognitive skills (school-based) communication skills and general knowledge. With four sets of AEDC national data collected in 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2018, we now have an indication of the national progress towards improving the development of Australian children. With each successive wave of data collected, the AEDC will provide a more comprehensive understanding of the state and progress of early childhood development in Australia. At today’s presentation, Miss Katie spoke about the Australian Early Development Census and how our services respond to this data to prepare children for their transition to school. She spoke about the importance of a holistic approach and the ways each of Kids Capers Childcare centres plan for their community, service, family and children, using the AEDC data. This ensures for the best possible learning outcomes for all children enrolled within our centres.
