25.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Just an update that restrictions still remain in place for dentistry as they have done so for the last 5 weeks. We are still open, but only providing urgent care such as pain relief, repairing badly broken teeth etc. If you do have any dental issues, please don’t hesitate to contact the surgery as a member of staff should be able to assist you in some way.... Once again, stay safe, and sane, through this really difficult time. We look forward to seeing you over the coming months. Warm Regards, Keilor Downs Dental.

25.01.2022 COVID-19 Update: Hi again everyone. As you may have heard, thankfully, some restrictions have been lifted. As it stands now, we are able to perform most routine procedures. Unfortunately, one of the procedures we are still prohibited from performing, are scale and cleans, due to the aerosol it creates. We are hopeful this restriction will be lifted in the not too distant future. Once again, I’d like to thank everyone for their patience during this time.... Regards, Simon.

24.01.2022 Congratulations to Lucy P on winning our latest prize (iTunes Voucher). Thank you for liking our Facebook page. Those people who have liked our Facebook page, follow us on Facebook, referred a patient, or have written a Google review, will remain in the running for next months prize. Stay safe everyone. Regards, Keilor Downs Dental.

24.01.2022 Hi again everyone, Just a quick update. Due to the current spike in Covid-19 cases in Metro Melbourne, the ADA has suggested that dental practices in hot-spot areas seriously consider going back to Stage 2 Restrictions. Therefore, as of Friday July 10, we have done so, which means we are still operating as per normal, but are unable to do aerosol-producing procedures such as scale and cleans. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience, but for the safet...y of our patients and staff, we feel it is a wise decision. Stay safe, and all the best to everyone during these testing times. Regards, Simon Haigh.

21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I sincerely hope everyone is keeping well and keeping safe during these testing times. Firstly, I’d like to thank all those patients who have visited the surgery over the last few months. Your patience and understanding has been amazing. It really has. ... Secondly, I’d just like to confirm that we are still open and operating as per normal despite the latest postcode lockdown measures. We continue to follow the stringent ADA guidelines as the health of our staff and patients remains paramount. Obviously the landscape is constantly changing & I will endeavour to keep everyone well informed of any changes. We look forward to seeing you in the future, and once again, keep safe. Kind Regards, Simon Haigh.

19.01.2022 COVID-19 (CoronaVirus) Update: Hi again everyone. Just a quick update regarding the new treatment protocols implemented at Keilor Downs Dental. We are still open, but unfortunately, to maximise the safety of our staff and patients, there are further restrictions on which procedures we can perform. ... We are now unable to carry out restorations/fillings, and any routine treatment such as examinations/check-ups and scale & cleans, will need to be deferred until this crisis is over. If you have an appointment for any such procedures, a member of staff will contact you to reschedule your appointment. However, if you have a toothache, we are still able to prescribe antibiotics, extract teeth or carry out root canal therapy to relieve your pain. If you break a tooth or filling, we can temporarily patch the tooth to keep the tooth stable until this crisis is over when it can be definitively restored. We are also reducing our hours of operation over the coming weeks, but rest assured, if you call and leave a message, a member of our staff will get back to you ASAP. Once again, thank you for your patience and understanding during these most challenging times. Stay safe. Look after each other. And hopefully with some immediate sacrifices & inconveniences, we can all get through this sooner, rather than later. Kind regards, Simon.

19.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE: Hi everyone, hoping everyone is keeping safe during this crazy time. Just letting everyone know we are still open, but only on a limited basis. We are still treating emergencies such as toothaches, trauma, broken teeth etc. ... If you do call our practice and the phones are unattended, please leave a message and a member of staff will return your call usually within 24 hours. Keep safe, and we hope to see you in the coming months when this virus is hopefully behind us. Kind regards, Simon.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone, Once again, we hope everyone is keeping safe out there during this enormous challenge we all face. As of yesterday, the Vic Dental Board has indicated that we can now only treat Urgent/Energency Cases, which is understandable considering the current Covid 19 infection rate in Metro Melb. We will still be operating, answering phone calls and treating emergency cases, but unfortunately, at a much reduced capacity over the coming weeks. ... Thanks again for everyone’s ongoing support and understanding. It is greatly appreciated. Best wishes - Keilor Downs Dental.

15.01.2022 Congratulations to Wendy C for winning our latest monthly draw - an Uber Eats voucher. For those people who have liked us on Facebook or recommended other patients to us, thank you so much. We will draw our next prize in March. Cheers and stay safe.

14.01.2022 CoronaVirus (Covid-19) Update: Hi everyone. Hopefully everyone is keeping safe during this health crisis. Just an update regarding Keilor Downs Dental:... We are still open for business but we are limiting some of the treatments we are able to provide. Scale and cleans are the major form of treatment that will be reduced, as most scale and cleans are carried out with an ultrasonic scaler which creates a substantial aerosol - not ideal in this current climate. We are still able to do small cleans (which is usually the case in children and teenagers) as we can use hand scalers which do not create an aerosol. And as scale and cleans are not urgent, it makes sense to delay your regular scale and clean until after this crisis is over. We are still able to carry out examinations, extract teeth, treat toothaches, restore most teeth (fillings) etc. Thank you so much for everyone’s understanding and patience over the last month. If you have any questions or concerns, again, don’t hesitate to contact us by phone. Wishing everyone the very best during this challenging time. Stay safe. And we’ll keep you updated of any further changes. Regards, Simon.

12.01.2022 COVID-19 (Corona Virus) Information: At Keilor Downs Dental Clinic, the health and well-being of our staff and patients has always been our highest priority. We have always, and will continue to, practice a high level of infection control in accordance with the Australian Dental Association Guidelines. The current outbreak of Covid-19 is obviously concerning to all of us. Fortunately at Keilor Downs Dental, we... have practiced UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS since our inception which is based on the premise that we assume every patient is infectious all of the time. So with that in mind, our infection control protocol and our delivery of treatment really does not change a great deal, despite the current outbreak. However, in light of the seriousness of Covid-19, and its implications, we have implemented some additional infection control measures: *Patients will be asked some additional health questions upon making appointments, and upon arrival to your appointment. * Patients who have been overseas in the last 2 weeks, have felt unwell over the last 2 weeks (fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue etc.), or had contact with a confirmed or suspected case of Corona Virus in the last 2 weeks, will be asked to reschedule their appointment. *Patients will be asked to use hand sanitizer (provided by Keilor Downs Dental) upon arrival to your appointment. We also ask patients not to bring any unnecessary family members or friends to your appointment, as we would like to keep the number of people in our waiting room to a minimum. Obviously these measures are a minor inconvenience but they are necessary, as we continue to work together to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Therefore, at this stage, it's business as usual at Keilor Downs Dental, however, we will continue to monitor the situation and follow the advice of the ADA, and we will keep you posted of any changes if/when they come to hand. And please feel free to contact us by phone if you have any concerns or questions. Thank you for you understanding and patience as we work together during this challenging time. Kind regards, Dr Simon Haigh.

10.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone. Just a quick note - Keilor Downs Dental will be closed until Mon, Jan 4. Until then, for dental emergencies, the Royal Melbourne Dental Hospital will be the best option. Again, I’d like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience over the last 12 months, as we have done our absolute best to cater for everyone’s needs during this most challenging year. Have a safe and merry Xmas, and we look forward to seeing you in 2021.... Regards, KDDC.

10.01.2022 Hi everyone, Hopefully everyone has stayed safe over the last month or two. I am pleased to say that dentistry in Victoria is now operating under Stage 1 restrictions. That means we can carry out all of our normal treatment procedures, INCLUDING scale and cleans. We do still have social distancing measures in place at the surgery, such as minimising the number of people in our waiting room, as well as a few minor changes such as using hand sanitizer upon ...entry and departure of the surgery (which we will provide). One request we have is that if you have any flu-like symptoms, have been overseas recently, or have been in contact with anyone who has, or is suspected of having Covid-19, could you please defer your treatment for a few weeks? That would be greatly appreciated. If it’s an urgent situation, please contact us to discuss the matter. So thank you for everyone’s patience during this time. To the people we have treated over the last month or so, your understanding of this difficult situation has been greatly appreciated. Hope to see you soon. Regards, Simon.

09.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I’d just like to give a sincere thank-you to all those patients who have visited us over the last few months. Your understanding of, and compliance to our Covid-19 Prevention Protocol is greatly appreciated. I know some of the extra measures are an inconvenience, but they are only minor, and they are necessary for the continued well-being of our staff and patients. Some of the extra measures you’ll notice at your next visit are:... 1. Covid-19 screening questions when you make your appointment. 2. Hand sanitation upon entry to the practice. 3. Reduced number of chairs in the waiting room to maintain social-distancing. We are also asking patients to call us upon arrival, and we will then call you back when the surgery is ready for you, avoiding the need for you to wait in the waiting room. As of 2-3 weeks ago, we are again able to provide all forms of treatment that you have been accustomed to, as we continue to maintain the highest level of infection control possible. We look forward to seeing you over the coming months. Regards, Simon Haigh and Staff.

08.01.2022 Congratulations to Dorothy M for winning our monthly prize (iTunes voucher). Thank you so much for your ongoing support and referral of new patients to our practice. All those people who have written positive Google or Facebook reviews, or liked us on Facebook will remain in next months draw. Regards, Simon and KDDC staff.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to Bruno C on winning our latest prize (Dan Murphy's Voucher). Thank you for referring a new patient to the clinic. Those people who have liked our Facebook page, follow us on Facebook, referred a patient, or have written a Google review, will remain in the running for next months prize. Stay safe everyone.
