22.01.2022 STAY SAFE WHILE TRAINING Some KDL clubs may now be training from tonight thanks to the Return To Play Guidelines provided by Netball Victoria this past week. And while we're excited to hit the courts, things will look a little different for the immediate future. Your groups will be smaller, spaced out and your drills may also have a twist to them to ensure that safe social distancing measures are being adhered to. ... Make sure you come ready to train. Have your sneakers on and be ready to go and most importantly - don't even consider training if you've been feeling unwell. Your Club, Coaches and Netball Managers have all the details, so don't be afraid to ask if you have any questions. Have fun, and stay safe!

18.01.2022 COACHING APPOINTMENT The Avenel Swan Football Netball Club are excited to announce the re-signing of Senior Football Coach Kasey Duncan for 2021. After finishing the home and away campaign in 3rd place last year Kasey and his coaching panel will be looking for a deeper run into the September action in the highly anticipated 2021 season.

17.01.2022 Last night the KDL League Executive along with member clubs made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 season. We are living in unprecedented times, with local business, employment opportunities and whole communities suffering through what can only be described as the biggest crisis of our generation. Football and Netball, it is clear, must finish second on the ladder of importance right now and our whole focus must be turned towards rebuilding and future planning. Clubs are more than just an oval, or a netball court.They're a place of gathering, an outlet and a safe-haven for many. Your club is always there for you, and that's why we're so grateful that Steph Ryan for Euroa is there for us during these tough times. Her support is as much needed as it is appreciated, and we're calling on Suzanna Sheed Independent MP for the Distric...t of Shepparton, Wendy Lovell MP and all other MP's to show their support for the future of grassroots sport and recreation. While sporting clubs may not be deemed essential right now, we will be as the country recovers from this pandemic. We'll be there for those struggling, for those looking for support and for those needing a smile. Isn't that worth funding?

First game is this weekend in Rushworth and training is on a Wednesday at 5:30-6:30pm The current team members have been working so hard at trainings and are really looking forward to playing this weekend. 10.01.2022 COACHING APPOINTMENT The Shepparton East Football Netball Club are thrilled to announce the re-signing of Senior Coach Duane Hueston for the 2021 Apprenticeship Factory Kyabram District League season. Shepparton East FNC President Mark Frost said that Duane had our senior football group in great form over the pre-season and with a number of past players returning to the club we were looking forward to a big year prior to COVID-19... It’s great news for the club that Duane has put pen to paper and re-committed to our group and we are all excited for next year".

10.01.2022 As a proud Netball League, we are very grateful that Netball Victoria has demonstrated sound decision making - both now and in the past - for the overall benefit and longevity of our sport. As a sport, we have always done a lot with a little. And this is evident now more than ever. In an environment where some multi-national corporations have faltered, a small, not-for-profit state sporting organisation, is still chugging along. It’s not quite business as normal working... environments, staff hours and the way netball is delivered have all had to change but it is business as usual. Netball Victoria exists to improve people’s lives, and we are thankful that they will withstand the pandemic and be there to support organisations like ours and our Clubs now and into the future. Our League is also in a sound position. Things will be difficult, but with the support we receive from both Netball Victoria and our community, we know we will be okay. In all areas of our lives we have been forced to adapt over recent months, and netball has been no exception to this. But at the end of the day we #PlayForTheLove. And the small sacrifices we have had to make will soon seem a distant memory when we are back on the court and thriving once again. A strong Netball Victoria is important to us, not just for our Association/League, but for the overall longevity of the sport we love. At this time, we are strongly encouraging our members to pledge their 2020 Netball Victoria Membership. Your Netball Victoria Membership is an investment in the future of our sport. Having a Netball Victoria Membership is saying, yes, I support my League, my Club, my Coaches and my Umpires. It’s saying I love my netball, and I want to see it thrive on the other side.

09.01.2022 NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS WEEK This week, we're saying thanks. From the scorers to the canteen managers and everyone in between - this week is for you! We're showcasing some of your local favorites and what they do for our club. Jade Shiner, Longwood Football Netball Club... 6 years after being dragged to the club by Ricki, Jade is still an integral part of the Longwood Football Netball Club. With no job too big or too small, Jade currently holds the position of Treasurer and plays a major role in the canteen and bar operations at the club. Her ability to fund-raise and support the club through her administrative skills makes her a favorite out at Redlegs Stadium. "Jade has put a mountain of work into the Longwood Football Netball Club, with many hours behind the scenes. She's passionate about spreading the workload at the club and spending quality time with her husband" - Ricki Shiner, President, Longwood FNC

An accomplished player and coach, Price has previous experience in the SANFL, NTFNL, Ovens & Murray and Hume Leagues.... Violet Town Club President Matt Holmes said that the community had been excited by Joel's renewed commitment to the region. "We couldn't be happier to secure Joel for 2021, as planning and building for what will be an exciting upcoming season can begin right away". "Joel has a passion for empowering Indigenous players to get the most out of their Football journey, and we're looking forward to him sharing his experiences and strategies with our Club"

09.01.2022 It is with deep sadness that we hear of the passing of past KDFL President, John Dunlop, on the 6th of April, 2021. John was the KDFL Junior Vice President from 1985 to 1988, then became the Senior Vice President from 1989 to 1992, before taking on the President’s role for 13 years from 1993 to 2005. John won the KDFL ‘Administrator of the Year’ Award for the KDFL in 1987 while working for the Murchison Football Club, before being awarded a Victorian Country Football League ‘...Recognition of Service’ Medallion in 1997. In 2000, John was awarded a KDFL Life Membership for his service to the League, and he maintained a keen interest in the running and welfare of the KDFNL right up until the last. John is survived by wife Jan, children Craig, Brett and Debra and his grandchildren. We will miss John’s presence around country footy. Vale John Dunlop
