07.01.2022 What a fantastic day at the Keep Australia Beautiful WA Tidy Towns Sustainable Awards 2020. KBULG was proud to represent the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder at the a...wards alongside EGC Teacher Miss Gavan. Kalgoorlie-Boulder was a finalist for the Overall State Award and in the following categories Environmental Sustainability Young Legends Environmental Education Although we did not win any awards we were very proud to represent our city, especially this year. 2020 has proven that no matter what is thrown our way our city will rise to meet every challenge. The people and organisations of Kalgoorlie-Boulder continue to show concern, consideration and kindness to one another and the environment. 05.01.2022 Keep Australia Beautiful Council celebrated International Volunteer Day with a beach clean-up in Cervantes. After gathering for a 7.30 start, the enthusiastic group made their way south along a two kilometre stretch of beach collecting nearly 100kg of rope, two tyres, 20 light globes and many pieces of broken plastic. In three hours, the group of nine had collected and removed 255kg of litter from the environment. Great job everyone! #TogetherWeCan #IVD2020 Volunteering WA

05.01.2022 There was a great turn out for the River Guardians clean-up event yesterday. 150 volunteers spread out over two sites in Mandurah and Dawesville collected over 400kgs of litter and marine debris. Well done to everyone involved!

Keep Australia Beautiful WA Council Chairman, Michael Aspinall, said the introduction of the Community Action COVID Projects award acknowledged the challenges communities continue to face due to COVID-19. This year has been a challenging year for everyone, and the Community Action COVID Projects award recognises the initiatives taken to care for and connect community members during COVID-19. The winners will be announced on 27 November 2020 at the Tidy Town Sustainable Communities Awards event in Perth.
