15.01.2022 Meet Anna, 16, from North Balgowlah athlete, photographer and this week’s Youth of the Beaches. Anna enjoys participating in a range of sports such as soccer, rugby 7’s, softball and running. She has been playing sport from a very young age but only got introduced to rugby 7’s 4 years ago, when her friend invited her to try it. Anna remembers herself to be reluctant at first and especially hesitant to tackle but her coaches helped her to built up her confidence. Anna finds i...t ‘really enjoyable and fun to get out onto the field and play with friends’ and believes she has learnt a lot about teamwork and the importance of working together when you have to trust your teammates to back you up and protect you. Now Anna is a talented and accomplished rugby 7’s player who won the 2019 premiership - her club’s very first women’s team to win. Anna hopes to involve more girls in sports such as rugby 7’s and reiterates the importance of the motto- If you never try, you’ll never know what you can do. #youthofthebeaches #yotb See more
