16.01.2022 SCAM ALERT! Fake emails claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) contain a link to malicious malware. This scam may affect small to medium busin...esses who regularly lodge BAS forms with the ATO. Fake emails identified so far use the subject line ‘Your next Activity Statement is now’ These fake emails are sophisticated and use a web address that is reasonably close to the real ATO website (ato.gov.au). Email users need to be vigilant in checking the legitimacy of links in emails they receive in order to protect their personal information and devices. Here’s what it means for your pay if you’re a full-time or part-time employee: If you have the day off but usually work Wednesday...s, you’re entitled to be paid your ordinary hours for that day. If you’re working only part of your usual shift (because the business has restricted trading hours), you should be paid any public holiday rates that apply for the hours you work AND be paid your base rate for the rest of the time you’d normally work. Casual employees who are rostered on the day are entitled to be paid for the hours they work (at the relevant public holiday rate if it applies).
