24.01.2022 Its about making sure our children grow up in a world with equal opportunities, regardless of sex, disability, race, culture, or beliefs. Today isnt just about women, its about both sexes, all working together towards a more equal @tomorganic @colessupermarkets @tooshiesbytom

22.01.2022 I have a little issue, and I dont usually share them BUT- Ive seen so many posts on the opposite to my opinion so I thought I would share mine. Before I start I want to say- I know social media can be negative, I know we have a problem with what mould we should fit hence why Im ALL About diversity and I dont mean chucking one normal sized body that may be seen as a little bigger etc in a fashion show I mean showing ALL SIZES AND BODY SHAPES! But my little issue is w...ith people making others feel as tho they cant share their weight loss, or before and afters especially after a baby because its making others feel they have to look that way or putting pressure on others to also take that journey. But the thing is... its Their journey! Their choice to want to bounce back, their decision to want to look and feel as fit as possible. Unless they are directly insulting or promoting this is what you have to do or look like then what is wrong with sharing it? We should be celebrating every ones body shape, whether they get a 6 pack 6 weeks after a baby or never in their life! We have to remember that by sharing their journey doesnt mean they are shaming anyone! I think we have a responsibility to support all woman in whatever they choose. I for one will be aiming to get back to the gym & my abs back as soon as possible and will most likely share my come back. I also appreciate and understand others who dont want/need to or cant. Lets lift everyone up and work on ourselves rather than making others stop doing what they want for our own benefits. Also Im just over here showing others with a disability what IS POSSIBLE ! . Ok done See more

20.01.2022 My japan trip is over. And it didnt exactly go to plan, but I didnt have the prep I needed nor wanted and sometimes thats ok. You learn from hardships and it only makes you hungry for more. Heres to training harder and setting new goals. #tokyo2020

20.01.2022 Best I could do with dad behind the screen thanks for the thumb Honesty - am I making a come back? I honestly dont know. Ive tried and failed before. My ankle is always something Ill have to deal with and now throw in the fact its been 7 years since Ive ran and Im a tad older with two kids... ... Am I enjoying it? Yes! I may not be fast or fit... yet but I feel really strong, Mentally and physically ( even with all the core work I gotta do) Watch this space... either way I can see myself having track as part of my life now. 20.01.2022 Thank you to Richard and OAPL for helping me live my life to the fullest and finally helping me get the leg Ive been waiting for for a long time

20.01.2022 Left the madness this morning to talk at this years Bethany Super hero awards, celebrating positive role models for children. I may have cried.. a few times. I got asked what my super power would be if I could have one (I wanted to say grow limbs ) but mine would be to help people see their future/ potential. Showing them that where they are now doesnt mean thats where theyre going to always be. Believing in people before they have reached their potential, is the key to motivating people to reach their potential

18.01.2022 Society is finally starting to do more around embracing diversity. How has this changed your experience as a disabled woman, and what do we still need to do? Its taken away some of the stigma that comes with having a disability, Ive been given opportunities that I dont think I would of been given years ago. Its shown people what we are all still capable of. But that said yes we still have a way to go! We are going in the right direction, but we could definitely improve... with education. Everything starts with children, and if we can teach young ones about diversity, about different types of people, body shapes, disabilities, colour, beliefs etc then people will grow up with more of an open mind and maybe we wont even have a divide. Grateful to be this months @peainapodmaternity #mamamuse - click on the link for the rest of my mini interview on motherhood/ life and also check out their beautiful maternity clothes. 14.01.2022 National amputee awareness week - Today I picked up Max from daycare and all his friends wanted to know why I had a robot leg, I tried to explain it in a way where it wouldnt scare them, but Max butted in and said the doc cut it off with a knife ( true max true ) Lets be like kids, lets ask questions instead of just staring. Today showed me how resilient and accepting kids are. Change starts with kids so lets educate them! Dont shelter them from the reality that there are people in this world who are different. I shared this photo because I think sharing a catwalk with @gigihadid for @reebokau was pretty great for amputees

14.01.2022 Next week Ill be hitting the catwalk. And I will be wearing ( or not wearing ) something so unique and amazing! Definitely stepping outside my comfort zone in more ways than one! @angelswithwingsau angelswithwingsau - For the first time in Australian fashion industry history Angels With Wings is bringing you an amazing Paralympian World Champion Kelly Cartwright to strut the runway to showcase Beauty In Diversity. 13.01.2022 Yesterday was World Cancer Day. (little late) This year I will be 16 years cancer free. But Australia still has a discrimination problem when it comes to rare or less common cancers and that needs to change. #CancerIsCancer. ... 52,000 Australians will be diagnosed with a rare or less common cancer each year, AND 25,000 OF THOSE WILL NOT SURVIVE. We make up almost 50% of all cancer diagnoses..... wrap your head around that... Im here with my children , living a life I sometimes feel guilty about when I hear of so many who have lost theirs . Lets help change these statistics and raise awareness. If youre a company/person who is ever wondering who to donate/ fundraise for please look up Rare Cancers Australia and help everyone with cancer get a fair fight. See more

09.01.2022 8 people are dying everyday by suicide in Australia, while youre reading this someone is thinking of taking their own life. They believe that education is the most powerful tool. On the 6th of April Ill be attending and sharing the stage at that Gala Night to help raise some much needed funds for some much needed education programs. There are still some tickets left, $150 a ticket to help save lives. clink on the link to join me & get your tickets! https://www.therisefoundation.net/events-1/rfa-gala-night

08.01.2022 Throw back Thursday. 2011 I want to share a picture with a story, a picture I’ve never shared before. This was my first world champs and my first international win. ... 6 months before this photo, I was in hospital having a revision on my stump (re amputation really) I had damaged my stump to the point where I was struggling to even walk. Many doctors told me to give up running... it took me a lot of pushing and a lot of help to find someone willing to operate. One week after my op I was back in the gym doing everything possible to get strong enough until I could run/ jump again. Fast forward the next few months and I came home from those games with two gold medals and a world record. For me the lesson was - it isn’t about how long you’ve been training for or how long you’ve being doing something it’s about how much you put into the time you have. I became a better athlete after those struggles, I stopped focusing on what everyone else was doing and focused more on myself. Food for thought See more

05.01.2022 Change is inevitable, growth is optional Everyday were faced with over 100 choices, every week thousands. You are in control of what YOU do to grow as a person. That doesnt mean you have to be a certain size, run an ultra marathon or even join a gym! It means YOU find what makes YOU a healthier happier, stronger version of yourself. #BeMoreHuman #BeYou #reebok @reebokau ambassador

05.01.2022 Hey everyone. I did something I didnt think I would have to do, and to be honest find it really hard asking for money.. really really hard. (Im used to helping others raise funds!) But I started a GoFund me page to help purchase the leg Ive been on for the past 12 years. In hope I can get back to feeling myself again and back to walking around with my little one (ones) like before. Please have a look and even a share if you can! https://www.gofundme.com/kellys-leg&rcid=r01-155350582172-9

05.01.2022 Thank you. Have a little read

04.01.2022 Today I was lucky to share my journey about disability, sport and inclusion with a group of amazing VCal students @ St Ignatious secondary. ( then I got a big coffee ) The kids designed a mixed abilities colour run, dont dis our ability we have capabilities and I was truly blown away with their compassion and willingness to understand that there are people that may be different but all want the same thing-inclusion. Change starts with kids, and if I had something like th...is growing up maybe I wouldnt of wore pants everyday and covered my disability throughout my schooling days. Maybe I would have got off the bench in P.E and realised it doesnt matter how you do something, if it takes you twice as long, you deserve the chance to feel comfortable. I found sport and it changed my life, but I was lucky to of been pointed in the right direction. We need more awareness, direction, & openness for people living with a disability See more

04.01.2022 Fun photo shoot with an amazing brand Pea in a Pod - Maternity , thank you. I cant wait to share my mini interview.

03.01.2022 Chatted all things power today for whimn Empowering Womens Panel. I love starting off the day with inspiring Women. One thing Im always asked is- how do you keep going on days where you feel like you cant? And lets be honest we all have days like that, and we all get sick of hearing just be positive but, I seriously think it is about being positive or at least grateful, and by that I mean, focus on something that is a positive ( however small it is) or think about things you are grateful for, for me its my family & health. Start turning the negative around and worry about all the things you can change and stop worrying about what you cant.

02.01.2022 Im here to tell my story. To show people what is possible. To show them that we dont have to fit one mold. To hopefully motivate and inspire young children (& adults) who may face challenges so big they feel there is nothing left. I get asked a lot if I could change losing my leg, would I? The answer is YES. But that doesnt mean I am not happy or grateful. It has made me into the person I am today and Im so glad its opened my eyes in so many ways. I love speaking to all kinds of people, from all walks of life (I like talking full stop ) & being a voice for some that may not have one. @fareonthefield
