21.01.2022 ‘Provence’ I was fortunate to go to an art residency in May 2019@ngartcreativeresidency. It proved to be a wonderful opportunity to explore my response to the French landscape. Through the footsteps of Matisse, Van Gogh, Cezanne, and many others, I felt their ‘presence’with every corner turned a memory from one of their paintings was embedded again into my memory. 2020 has made us put travel on hold, so I hope my show will help you escape a little. 20.01.2022 Open Studio today saw me saying farewell to some of my favourites :( I know we aren’t supposed to have favourite children but in my paintings I definitely do have favourites. 18.01.2022 I am continuing to show you all this Coast series up close. The medium has the most amazing smooth and silky feel. You want to reach out and touch it. I actually polish these works with white silk stockings.... it gives them a lustre not seen in these photos :)#encaustic
16.01.2022 When I made this body of work I tried to incorporate all aspects of the coast. This one has newsprint and silk in the under layers to emulate the waste that is all too often found at the beach. The process of creating this type of work requires many different layers of oil paint, then wax, then using a blow torch burning the layers to fuse them together then scraping back - and The process starts all over again. Most of then works have at minimum 12 layers. #coast

14.01.2022 This tree was right beside me when I drew the idea for this painting. It was in Avignon at a beautiful high spot that had a great vista. Most people focus on the landmarks such as the bridge that was to my left but I found the view so beautiful come see it in person @7clovellyroad it’s my last day today #avignon

09.01.2022 Yesterday I went to @hazelhurstartscentre and saw the amazing 2020 show. My work is a palette knife oil on canvas and sits beautifully on the wall with an amazing collection of 350 artists. The curation and diversity is amazing - the show is on until 31 January 2021. Lots of the work is for sale and at the moment WALKA an aboriginal exhibition is on in the Broadhurst gallery as well.

04.01.2022 Don’t you wish you could freeze a moment in time? This is how I felt on this day - relaxed happy - all was right with the world, I had a photo shoot with the incredibly talented @curiousprovence this was taken up against the wall of the residency - 17th Century brickwork and then off we went to a nearby field of poppies where the photos continued. Who gets to do such frivolous fun things ?? We were trespassing in the fields and the owner came out amd we thought we would be in trouble but she was lovely and friendly .... with @tracyluff @nicolebabjak we laughed and laughed and were silly like children Memories #memories #travel
