24.01.2022 A great perspective on the Hawkesbury-Nepean flood, courtesy of the SES Facebook page. You can see how South Creek, Eastern Creek and Killarney Chain of Ponds (downstream from First Ponds Creek) have spilled out on to adjoining land.

21.01.2022 The Hawkesbury River has been falling very slowly overnight, dropping only a little to 11.98 metres at Windsor at 8.15 this morning. With water still spilling from all five upstream dams it may take quite a while for river levels to drop significantly. That means local creeks will also be very slow to recede.

19.01.2022 Workers are on Windsor bridge this morning clearing debris and preparing to re-open the bridge to traffic.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to the 264 new Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters who graduated from their training last week, 2 of them will join Schofields Fire Station in the coming days.

14.01.2022 NSW HEALTH COVID ALERT FOR LOCAL SUBURBS NSW Health reports that fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19 have been detected in the sewerage system that drains parts of Quakers Hill, The Ponds, Rouse Hill, Kellyville Ridge, Stanhope Gardens, Glenwood, Parklea, and Acacia Gardens in the electorate of Riverstone, as well as Castle Hill, Annangrove, Kellyville, Box Hill, Kenthurst, Glenhaven, North Kellyville, Beaumont Hills, Baulkham Hills, Bella Vista, and Norwest. The pos...itive sewage result can be due to shedding of the virus by someone who previously had the illness, with the virus ‘shedding’ through their system for up to six to eight weeks later. NSW Health urges members of the local community to be vigilant for symptoms and get tested if they have even the mildest COVID-19 symptoms. Symptoms like a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough, tiredness, fever or loss of taste or smell can all signal COVID-19. After COVID-19 testing, you must remain isolated until a negative result is received. Nearby testing clinics include: Bella Vista Clinical Labs Pathology Drive-through Clinic, 14 Lexington Drive, L1, Unit 104, Bella Vista Quakers Hill Drive-through Clinic, 6 Melrose Avenue, Quakers Hill Castle Hill Drive-through Clinic, Castle Hill Showground Blacktown Showground Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology Drive-through Clinic, Blacktown Showground Carpark For other nearby clinics, visit COVID-19 testing clinics or contact your GP. 14.01.2022 The new primary school in the Elara section of Marsden Park has been named Northbourne Public School. It will be open from the first day of school in 2021 for up to 1,000 students, initially in temporary facilities, with the permanent buildings to be completed later in the year.

14.01.2022 Car park win for Marsden Park Public School! The lobbying efforts of the parents have succeeded and the land opposite the school will be sealed as a car park. After I presented the petition signed by more than 300 people to the Ministers for Transport and Education, a lease was signed for the Department of Education to use the land as a car park. The DA was approved recently by council and work will start soon. The car park is expected to be completed by Christmas. I’d like to thank the leaders of the P&C who worked with me to present the needs of the local community to the two Ministers. Well done parents!

13.01.2022 Last night the SES declared All Clear for all the areas within Riverstone electorate previously given evacuation warnings. At 5.45 this morning the Hawkesbury River at Windsor was at 10.07 metres, continuing to slowly recede.

09.01.2022 The Hawkesbury River at Windsor has peaked at 12.93 metres and has now begun to slowly recede, down to 12.89 metres so far. This should mean no further risk of rising backwater flooding in local creeks. But it will take several days for the water levels in the creeks to drop back towards normal.

07.01.2022 This week Transport Minister Andrew Constance came to Schofields station to see work progressing on the first 60 extra car spaces. He announced that the footprint for the main 700 space car park has been determined and that it will be at grade, rather than multi-deck as earlier planned. Acknowledging the delay in the project, he reassured the community that it’s on its way, with construction to begin in early 2021.
