25.01.2022 Are your headaches a pain in the neck? How long do you spend on your mobile phone? Your tablet? On a laptop/computer? Sitting at a desk? Or simply driving? Today’s modern living can cause stress on our necks often resulting in annoying neck pain and in turn headaches. As a result of our relatively inactive lifestyles, it’s not surprising that neck pain and headaches, is the second most common condition, after lower back pain, that Chiropractors treat. http://kewchiro.com.au/are-your-headaches-a-pain-in-the-ne/

24.01.2022 Spot anyone we know in the picture? Our chiropractor Jonathan Distiller has been helping these athletes for several years, learning lots about dodgeball. In addition to this Jonathan has been helping budding young Chiropractic students get some experience with athletes at the top of their sport.

21.01.2022 Congratulations to our #chiropractor Jonathan Distiller who completed his first #marathon #run on the weekend in Aukland! He tells us it was a gruelling run and is thankful for the support of his family, the team at @thejoint.physio , Jasmine @potatopod and our own #myotherapist Brendon for helping him get through his injuries during training! If you want any advice on how to prepare or want a partner in looking after yourself then get in touch with any of the above who are excellent at what they do! #kew #kewchiropractor #kewchiropracticcentre #chiro #running #training #personalbest #strongerthanyesterday

20.01.2022 Hey Guys, Low back pain (LBP) is one of the most common conditions we see at Kew Chiropractic Centre, it is amazing to us that even though it is so common, LBP is very poorly understood. Pain is not a sign of ageing but rather your body's inability to adapt to its environment. To learn more check out our latest blog!... http://kewchiro.com.au/lower-back-pain-how-a-chiropractor-/

18.01.2022 Do your shoulders roll forward? Have you tried stretching out your Pectoral muscles to no improvement? If so maybe you need to encourage some of your back muscles to work a little harder. Pictured here we have an exercise designed to do just that. Step 1: Standing 90 degrees to the wall place your arm out in front of you. Step 2: horizontally abduct your arm (push into the wall) for 15 seconds paying special attention to the muscle behind your shoulder blade. Repeat step 1 ...and 2 when standing 45 degrees away from the wall and then with your back to the wall. Repeat for your other arm. Strive to do this exercise twice daily and you should discover improved shoulder posture and improved shoulder range of motion. #posture #posturecorrection #kewchiropracticcentre #kew #keweast #chiropractic #chiropractor #sportschiro #sportschiropractic #shoulder #shoulderhealth See more

13.01.2022 Walking towards wellness! It’s true exercise boosts your mood. Studies show that a brisk walk is just as effective as antidepressant medication in mild to moderate cases of depression, releasing feel-good endorphins while reducing stress and anxiety. So, for positive mental health, getting active is an absolute must.

11.01.2022 Thought of the week for some Friday motivation. Are you thinking about a project but in awe of how big it seems? Break it down into smaller manageable pieces and chip away at your goals. #kew #kewchiropracticcentre #chiropractor #fridaymotivation #smallsteps #takethefirststep

11.01.2022 Do you enjoy lifting weights? your should! It’s great for you, one thing to remember is that when muscles are recovering they often do so in a slightly flexed position, this can cause your muscles to feel tight! Demonstrated here is a stretch for your chest muscles pectoralis major and pectoralis minor. This stretch is perfect for people who perform a press type movement and also great for people working at a computer to help combat that hunched over posture! ... 1. Simply bring your elbow up to just below shoulder height against a doorframe and turn your body away. You should feel a light stretch across the top of your chest. Hold this position for 20-30 seconds. 2. Raise your elbow so it’s higher than your shoulder and repeat. You should feel this stretch slightly lower in your chest, helping to target more muscle fibres and reduce the sensation of muscle tightness. Help your chest, get back to its best! #lift #gym #chiro #kewchiropractor #kew #keweast #chestworkout #sportschiro #tightpecs #stretching #chiropractor See more

11.01.2022 Tips to help improve your sleep: IMPROVE SLEEP BY HAVING A REGULAR BEDTIME ROUTINE. This can help to make falling asleep at the right time a habit. (Brushing your teeth, switching off all the lights and then laying down in bed is one example.) By having a regular bedtime routine you can improve sleep quality, improve sleep consistency and improve how easily you fall asleep.... RESTRICT THE ACTIVITIES YOU DO IN YOUR BEDROOM TO SLEEP AND INTIMATE TIMES. If you watch television, read or eat in your bedroom then your brain and body associate the bedroom with these other activities. This can be one reason why you have trouble falling asleep, your body is ready to do one of these other activities. Try doing these activities in other parts of the house. Then, when you are ready to go to sleep, return to the bedroom. To see the rest of the tips follow the link below. https://kewchiro.com.au/6-tips-from-your-chiropractor-to-i/

07.01.2022 Do you work at a desk all day? Are you in the car for >60 minutes? Do you spend more time then you should looking at your phone iPad/ computer ? If the answer is yes then it’s highly likely that you’ve developed stiffness in your upper back and neck as well as tight muscles at the front of your neck and chest. If that is the case then be sure to try out this exercise at the end of the day! Step 1, roll a towel up into a cylinder and place it flat along the ground. St...ep 2, lay down with your spine along the towel (feel that the base of your neck is on the towel). Bend your knees to support your lower back as well. Step 3 (optional) if you feel like this stretch is putting a strain on your neck then place a pillow behind your head Final step, place your arms to your side along the ground with your palms facing upwards. Hold this position for a minimum of 5 and up to 10 minutes. This is designed to be a long slow stretch to help your body to reverse a lot of the postural stress we endure from day to day! Do you know anyone who is slouching come the end of their day? Tag them to help them see this stretch! It may well be the answer they are looking for #chiropractic #sportschiro #chiropractor #keweast #posturecorrection #forwardheadposture #tightpecs #soreneck #neckpainrelief #kewchiropracticcentre #booroondara #posture #helpafriend See more

Brendon was fortunate enough to run around in 38-degree heat in Shepparton at Richmond's 1st JLT game. Make sure to be on the lookout for many other tv cameos, as Brendon will be working on the field with both Richmond's AFL and VFL teams in season 2019!

03.01.2022 As the twig is bent, so grows the tree. The meaning of this quote is based around the idea that early influences can have a permanent effect. Putting things off until later can often cause them to become more difficult to deal with and addressing issues early give us the best possibility to correct them and reverse any damage done! #kew #kewchiropracticcentre #kewchiropractor #eastkew #earlyintervention #chiropractic #chiro #balwyn #balwynnorth #deepdene #checkyourselfbeforeyouwreckyourself
