25.01.2022 When I welcomed menopause into my life I couldn’t believe how my weight blossomed and that I had put on more weight than ever. I sat with my doctor and cried when the reality hit me. I had been active and doing exercise but needed more. Karen Skudder has helped me drop the weight, tone up and become the new me. Once I would be tired post hard core exercise that Karen offers....now I’m tired if I don’t go. 22.01.2022 Go Slow. Most of the time when we decide to start a new workout routine it’s because we’re motivated. Remember, the goal is to get in the habit of doing the workouts and in the beginning, you want the workouts to be easy. This is true for the first 3 or 4 weeks. Your only goal is to stick to the schedule and build the capacity to do the workout. Performance doesn’t matter. It seems like this is the exact opposite of what most people do. The typical approach is to go from sitting on your couch to doing P90X for six days every week. With a switch like that, it’s no wonder that most people give up after a week.

18.01.2022 Fitness Classes with Karen When I was looking to improve my fitness I found Karen’s classes tailored for varying fitness levels and times that suited me best. Gradually I could feel myself getting fitter, more flexible and happier within myself. While the classes have a social atmosphere and it doesn’t matter that you are not the best, I found myself enjoying the variety and improving over time. The options of different levels of difficulty is fabulous, as there is always a level that suits and you can push yourself to improve. Without these classes, I would not have left my comfort zone to have a go at the kayaking adventure Karen offered for Christmas, which was great fun. Chose to commit to one small "habit forming" exercise over this time.... This could be sometime as simple as - Have a glass of water before that piece of cake, handful of nuts or second helping. - eat each mouthful with intention (thank the universe for the amazing food) - turn the TV/ mobile devices off for an hour a day and give your brain a rest (I promise the world will still be there). - Stretch for a couple of minutes when you wake up in the morning. - Take a few deep breaths, close your eyes and drop your shoulders if you are feeling stressed. (you will be amazed how much tension is in your shoulders!!) You will be amazed at how quickly your body will start to feel different - more hydrated, more energised, more youthful.
