25.01.2022 Play equipment - going cheap! This Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
24.01.2022 Great advice. And I'm guessing it may take more than one Easter egg to achieve a tennis ball-sized lump of aluminium foil. Oh well... ;)
23.01.2022 Covid-19 Vaccination Information
22.01.2022 The May Races public holiday (May 6) is back! This week, Council resolved to return to the Warrnambool Cup public holiday in line with our neighbours at Warrnambool City.
22.01.2022 A plea from one of our school crossing supervisors to PLEASE SLOW DOWN when driving through school zones. The speed limit in school zones is 40km/h at the start and end of the school day. Please take care.
21.01.2022 Yambuk, we're coming to you!
21.01.2022 Thrilled to be a part of the Business and Professional Women South West forum next month introducing women candidates for the City of Warrnambool and Shire of Moyne. Kudos to BPW for promoting women's participation in local government.
21.01.2022 I've been fielding a few questions about what I stand for. First thing to say is that I'm not a 'single issue candidate'. There are plenty of things I care about. And here are just some of them. - Creating healthier, enriched communities through things like more bike trails, connected walking paths, public art and festivals.... - Climate change - it's one of the biggest challenges of our time. - Regional collaboration - we will need to work with our neighbours to build our influence at state and federal level if we are to claim our fair share. - Support for business. - Giving our young people a say in what matters to them. - Transparency and good, two-way communication. - Promoting Moyne Shire as a great place to live, work and invest and a beautiful place to visit. This will be crucial as we emerge from the pandemic. I know these are things that many of you care about, too. Because you've told me. And that's another thing I believe in - genuine representation.
20.01.2022 It's time to vote! This week you'll be receiving ballot packs in the mail so you can cast your vote in the 2020 local government elections. And here's how you can vote for a diverse, forward-thinking Moyne Shire Council.... In creating this 'how-to-vote' card, please know that I'm not 'telling' anyone how they must vote. Obviously, that's entirely your choice. But I wanted to be transparent and to communicate my thoughts about what the most diverse and progressive Council team might look like. So, over to you! #vote2020 #kfoster4moyne
20.01.2022 Are you in business? Business Victoria is offering free mentoring sessions to help businesses recover from the (ongoing) pandemic impacts. #lovelocal
18.01.2022 I caught up with ABC South West's Jeremy Lee last week to chat about my tilt for local government. You can catch up with it here (at about 42 minutes in). And a quick shout out to Jeremy to thank him for the work he's doing to profile candidates from across the region. Covid makes campaigning an incredibly challenging proposition, so this is at least one way we can all meet our candidates.
17.01.2022 Important information for residents who have disability parking permits.
17.01.2022 It's a pretty tight turnaround time, but you can have your say on the Victorian Government's Renewable Energy Zone Development Plan. This plan identifies potential projects in our region. Take a look here: ... http://www.energy.vic.gov.au/renew.../renewable-energy-zones Written submissions can be lodged with DELWP before midnight Wednesday, 31 March 2021. Qqueries regarding the process should be directed to: [email protected]
17.01.2022 Our small businesses need our help more than ever before. #lovelocal #proudlylocal

16.01.2022 Great news for Mortlake! (Especially the cheese part!)
14.01.2022 I'll be switching off tonight. Will you join me for #EarthHour?

12.01.2022 Moyne Shire Council is among Victoria’s so-called fragile 14 - Councils with just one woman at the table this term. There are (so far) three women standing for election in 2020. I would love to see even more woman and people from other cultures and backgrounds step forward to boost our chances of more representative, diverse local government.
11.01.2022 Moyne Shire residents have 16 capable candidates from which to choose in the 2020 local government elections. Ballot packs will be mailed early next month, with voting closing on October 24. Your vote truly matters. It's important that we assemble a team of Councillors who are able to work together collaboratively and think strategically. ... We also need Councillors who can handle themselves in Spring Street and Canberra, speaking up for our Shire as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic. I know I can be a part of that team and I respectfully ask for your consideration as a worthy and trustworthy candidate.
11.01.2022 I publicly declared my intention to stand for election to Moyne Shire Council early - way back in May this year. That's because I am serious about this. I have been thinking about it for years and feel that at this point in my life and career, I have some value to offer. I've read the Council Plan and other important documents and attended Council meetings. (Continued live streaming Council meetings is something I would advocate for if I was elected.)... And tomorrow I will officially lodge my nomination form formalising my candidacy. I'm ready for this! #vote2020

10.01.2022 'The Great South Coast Economic Futures' paper is an important document for our region. It outlines a blueprint for future investment in industries we've not traditionally entertained - horticulture, aquaculture, green hydrogen, Indigenous cultural tourism and hot springs tourism, among other things. If there's one lesson the pandemic has taught us it's that diversification of our industries is key to our future survival. Providing new career pathways is also key to keeping o...ur young people here. Whilst the projects outlined in this paper need private and State investment, local government has a crucial role to play in promoting these opportunities to investors. Exciting times ahead!
09.01.2022 Have your say about wind farm complaints procedures. Council is not responsible for planning decisions around wind farms, but we are responsible for ensuring wind farms comply with the conditions of State Government planning permits. Our team has put together a draft procedure for handling any complaints that may arise from wind farm operations and now is your chance to let us know what you think.
08.01.2022 Have your say about health services available in our local communities (Port Fairy, Koroit, Killarney, Macarthur, Yambuk and everywhere in between!) 08.01.2022 It seems to me that Koroit is a town whose time has well and truly come. A detailed Structure Plan has been developed and refined over many years based on a vision developed by the community. Surely, after all the planning, talking and strategising, it's time to get serious on delivering for the people of Koroit.
07.01.2022 The Victorian Government is finalising its reopening roadmap to be launched this Sunday, 6 September. If you are in business, you can take this brief survey to tell the Government how you might be able to open and operate in a new 'Covid normal' environment. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TV3MS3H... #staysafe
06.01.2022 Life is too short to take everything so seriously! And it seems to me that a healthy sense of humor is surely a prerequisite for all good Councillors!

05.01.2022 Organising a festival or event in Moyne Shire? Take a look at this!
05.01.2022 These babies will be winging their way to your letterbox soon! As much as I feel flyers like this are wrong for the environment, this was a very odd year in which to be campaigning. Without opportunity to get out and meet with people, I hope this at least gives you a little insight into the type of Councillor I could be for you. #vote2020
04.01.2022 We're officially in 'Stage 2' of the road map out of Covid. Hang in there, Moyne! And stay safe.
04.01.2022 I suspect I'm about to say a spectacularly unpopular thing... I wish that we, as a State-wide and Shire-wide community, could just band together to meet the Covid challenge head on. I wish our leaders would help us to rally with grace and grit to do what needs to be done instead of dividing communities and whipping up angst and anger.... I completely understand and empathise with the many businesses that are in real pain. I genuinely feel for those who have lost their jobs and those under financial stress. Sincerely. But being 'outraged' at having to endure restrictions a while longer serves no purpose and in fact undermines their sacrifices to date. We ALL want this pandemic to be over. But it's not. And we all wish that restrictions didn't need to be so tight in regional Victoria. But the science tells us that this virus doesn't discriminate according to postcode. If you really think about it, the alternative (months if not years of living in and out of restrictions) is just a little too awful to contemplate. Let's just do this. #staysafe
03.01.2022 Includes election of Mayor. Due to covid restrictions, there is no public gallery.
02.01.2022 Excellent service for those needing some diversion during Stage 3 restrictions. Get reading, Moyne Shire!
