24.01.2022 Im sure most have heard the news! Premier Daniel Andrews announcing earlier today that swimming lessons can recommence for us from Monday 9th November. Lessons will look different again, restrictions will in place.... We are working through the specifics and will have more information to share soon. 10.01.2022 4 more sleep. Swimming lessons will look very different, with new regulations in place. Adult attendance is limited to one parent, guardian or caregiver per student within their lesson... *If you have children swimming back to back lessons, the child not swimming can stay with you - 2 adults can not attend. *if one of your back to back classes requires an adult in the water and the other child needs supervision, a second adult must bring the second child in 5mins before the start of their class and can remain or can swap with the other parent and depart with the first child. You must register your attendance via www.guesthq.com.au. *Please remember to check out when you leave. Please use the hand sanitiser upon entry. All adults (while out of the pool) must wear a mask. Masks are not required in the pool, adults must place one on as soon as they exit the pool. Lessons will finish a few minutes prior to the allocated time to allow social distancing while exiting. Showers and change rooms are still closed, however, change tables will be available. 07.01.2022 Following is an extraction i have taken from Gary Toner- ASTCA. Gary and his team are working to try and get the children of Victorian back into swim lessons. "We are continually working with the Victorian Government to inform them of recent studies that show INDOOR POOLS ARE COVID SAFER! The Victorian Government have opened outdoor pools outside of Melbourne under the new direction, but we need them to go further and open indoor pools. Approximately 137,000 children will con...tinue to miss out on developing their water safety skills every week while indoor pools are closed. Indoor pools are COVID Safer they can open now in a way that accounts for the health and well being of our community. Since COVID-19, drownings in Victoria are 300% higher than the average for the same period over the past 5 years, with 12 recently recorded drownings. Learn to swim is an essential service, and life skill which relies on pools (especially indoor pools) being open and able to operate. We are a health and safety based industry striving to provide the skills and experience for people to be SAFER in water environments and ultimately reduce the drowning toll."
