21.01.2022 We Love Kindy Science!!

21.01.2022 We recently spoke to wildlife carer Sarah and can report that Jessie is certainly one of the most timid joeys at Tweed Valley Wildlife Rescue! Jessie still wont venture from her warm, snug pouch. The good news is that she is becoming more and more curious about life outside. She loves it when her pouch is carried outside into the sunshine. Here she can lean out and nibble on fresh grass and dirt. Dirt is an important part of a little joeys diet - it helps to keep their digestive system healthy! It wont be long before she hops out of her secure little home for the first time.... We look forward to sharing a video of this with you too.

20.01.2022 Kindy room had the pleasure of having Georgia Rs Nonna come to teach them some traditional Italian cooking last week, making lots of yummy gnocchi! Their focus letter was the letter P and the main ingredient in the recipe was potatoes. The children learnt about the ingredients in the recipe. They kneaded the dough and Nonna showed them how to roll it into snakes and cut into pieces the right size before rolling into a ball to create the gnocchi with a small dent in one... side to catch the delicious sauce. Thank you Nonna for bringing us your special home made sauce from your home grown tomatoes from Stanthorpe. We are so grateful to Nonna for sharing her pasta making knowledge and talents with us.

18.01.2022 Pre Kindy Room experimented with Walking Rainbows today using paper towel and coloured water. They watched on as the colours were absorbed and blended to create new ones!

Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!! #DrSeuss

16.01.2022 OUR KINDY PROGRAM! IF YOU HAVE A KINDY CHILD, THIS IS FOR YOU!! At KidCademy, we recognise the transition from Kindergarten to School is a big step for our little people and have created a Kindergarten program to ensure that our children are fully equipped for the next steps in not only their education but also, their life. This is the foundation of Early Childhood Education and we aim to prepare your children for school by providing endless opportunities to learn and grow in an environment created to help each individual child reach their full potential. KidCademy recognises the value and richness of play as a stimulus for children’s learning and qualified teachers and educators promote their ongoing engagement in meaningful and school readiness experiences. In addition to our Kindergarten program, we have also put together an extra-curricular program to equip our kindergarten with the skills to succeed in their journey beyond our doors. Our extra-curricular program includes: Swimming and water safe lessons - In our sunny state, swimming and water safe education as an essential skill for all children and we endeavour for all of our graduating class members to be adept in this life skill. Tennis Lessons Dance and Music Programs Language Classes Science Lessons Our Kindy children will also be exposed to a host of out of class learning experiences in 2021 with our very own dedicated excursion bus which will regularly be visiting local centres, museums and other educational facilities We look forward to welcoming you to our centre and discussing these programs further with you and your family. 16.01.2022 This week we were blessed to have an Indigenous artist come to our centre and paint with the whole centre. Aunty Lisa spent a lot of time exploring the colours and indigenous artwork with our babies and younger children and then she visited the older children to teach them all about her people and the land she came from. Aunty Lisa showed the children some flash cards of symbols that are related to her and her culture. She showed us some of her artwork she has and then we m...ade our own! #NATSIChildrensDay2020 #EldersOfTomorrow #StrongInCulture #earlyleaningmatters

15.01.2022 Thank you to all of our wonderful Educators for everything you do!

14.01.2022 As part of the Queensland Kindergarten program the children in the Kindy Explorers room engage in a range of different experiences to extend on their learning in the room. Today the Kindy Explorers took their learning about the letter Z outdoors where they made their very own dinosaur Zoo’s. The children engaged in discussions about what their Zoo would require, such as food, water and trees. It was wonderful seeing the children’s imaginations at play and their knowledge of protecting their environment through this experience.

09.01.2022 UPDATE ON JESSIE Look at Jessie go! There is no stopping her now! This little wallaby has certainly grown into a very strong and healthy girl. As you can see, she has begun to venture out and explore. She is very aware of what is going on around her and pricks up her ears every time she hears a new sound. ... Jessie has started to experiment with eating "wallaby food" now - munching on fresh shoots, roots and fresh growth. She also nibbles on soil which is very good for wallaby tummies! Recently Jessie has found a new favourite food - native flowers. Native flowers such as grevillea and flowering gums are filled with sweet nectar - a favourite food source for lots of native Australian animals. You can plant native flowers as food for wildlife - its one of the best ways of encouraging native birds to visit! The best news is that soon it will be time for Jessie to move to a large property with other young wallabies where she can begin to practise living in the wild - where she should be! Thank you so much for adopting this little girl and for helping her journey.
