25.01.2022 So much for the 'Terra Nullius' assertion of the Europeans first setting foot on this continent. We need our kids to know the true history.

25.01.2022 Painting on buildings. Fantastic arent they. Got a blank wall somewhere? Maybe you could try painting on it? At school, your art teacher might help. At home on a shed wall? All your family might help?

18.01.2022 Understandably, given the changes to their world right no, so many kids are displaying signs of stress. You can help by being positive and reassuring, but you can introduce meditation / mindfulness to them. You can find guided meditations for kids - and for grown ups - on an app called Insight Timer. This one introduces the concept of a secret tree house, a safe place where kids can go just by breathing some slow deep breaths and closing their eyes. When they're upset you can remind them that they can visit their special cubby. It works, and meditation is a really good technique that will stand them in good stead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWOHcGF1Tmc

12.01.2022 Wow... www.kidcyber.com.au now gets hits from over 80 countries! Our latest is the Republic of Moldova, representing 1% of our total. Just a little publishing endeavour we started in 1999 to support some books we'd written about developing research skills in primary schools, and it's still growing, still supporting kids, their teachers and parents. Thanks for the support!

09.01.2022 PARENTS: When you were a kid, do you remember the first time you heard something that was racist? What about a time someone spoke down at a woman? When you firs...t heard about cancer, what did you think about? These are scary topics for kids, but that doesnt mean that they have to be difficult conversations for parents to have with their kids. Thats why we launched A Kids Book About, to help kids and their grownups have honest conversations about things that matter https://akidsbookabout.com Meet the new way to kickstart important conversations with your kids - a collection of beautifully designed books on the hard issues kids deal with every day. The first thing youll notice about our books is that theyre different. Weve seen firsthand how remarkable, brilliant, and inquisitive kids can be, especially when it comes to uncomfortable topics. So, we set out to create books that treated kids like they were smart, speaking to them straightforward and honestly. There are no dragons, silly bears, or cute tales about princesses. Our books emphasize color, layout, and type to help kids apply the stories to their lives instead. We believe that books should empower kids to be their best selves both at home and in the world. Thats why weve partnered with incredible authors to create these books on the important topics we all deal with to help dads and moms have those challenging + empowering conversations. Its time to start talking kids in your life. Experience kids books that matter and get yours today https://akidsbookabout.com

06.01.2022 Sometimes we teachers and parents can't see beyond 'a problem' to the bigger possibilities!! Let's look outside the box by flipping our thinking.

06.01.2022 Local Member for Williamstown, Melissa Horne, ran a term 2 challenge for primary schools. Kids were encouraged to send in photos and drawings of the activities they got up to in isolation. Now that here in Victoria the learning in isolation has returned perhaps you can challenge your kids to a similar challenge! Check out just some of the great submissions Melissa Horne received: https://melissahornemp.com.au/primary-school-isolation-cha/

05.01.2022 If we're not prepared to be wrong, we don't take a chance and so a chance of being creative is lost. Kids are willing to take a chance... do we let them or do we kill creativity? Vale Sir Ken. This is worth watching, especially for the anecdote at the start!
