20.01.2022 Dear Kids Aquatic Survival School Quinns Rocks Customers It is with a heavy heart that we are forced to shut down. With the recent announcement about non-essential services, we believe that in the best interests of staff and customers we discontinue lessons effective immediately.... We will contact you in the coming days when future lessons are able to open up again. We are devastated to do this but believe that it is in everyones best interest. We wish everyone the best through this crisis as we are aware that everyone will have adversities to overcome. Look forward to swimming on the other side. I I will personally truly miss my students and families in what will be a lonely time. Much love Lauren Kids Aquatic Survival School Quinns Rocks #weareinthistogether #swimontheotherside #wewillbeatthis #stayhome2020

19.01.2022 Just keep swimming!! Provided each participant takes responsibility for their own health and only attends if well enough to do so there is no reason children cannot continue to enjoy their regular swimming classes. At kass lessons are one on one so there are no large crowds which reduces risk significantly.

19.01.2022 There is something we need to address... A tik tok video from the US has gone viral worldwide showing an instructor throwing an infant into the water as part of a survival technique. We DO NOT condone what has been seen in this video and we DO NOT and would NEVER do this in our lessons. ... Justin Scarr, CEO of Royal Life Saving Society Australia, has commented this technique known as infant survival swimming, is practiced in Australia. As many of you who have completed our program or witnessed it know WE DO NOT throw, chuck, push or force a child into the water and/or when in the water. We also dont click in a childs face to keep their attention. At KASS, we teach non verbal infants and young children how to be independent and survive in the water. Our philosophy is through gentle touch and using the environment to encourage movement through the water. Our program is tailored and taught in small increments based on the child being successful and each skill achievable for the child. It is only when the child is fully skilled we simulate an accidental fall into the water and this skill is done so in a controlled and supportive way. KASS lessons provide students with safe, effective opportunities to learn about being in the water and how to respond appropriately to the demands placed on them by that environment. Our goal is to ensure a child is safer in and around water. We aim to give every child the very best chance of survival. Our method does not involve or cause harm to the child. https://7news.com.au//infant-swimming-lesson-video-slammed

18.01.2022 What if my kids have forgotten everything they learnt? After such a long break you may be feeling concerned that your child may have forgotten what they previously learnt. At KASS we teach using sensory motor learning and muscle memory. What this means is that things previously learnt have an extremely successful retention rate. Some kids may be a bit rusty in their skills and some may find it emotionally tough however in most cases they tend to be back where they left off ...in a few short lessons. Lauren has a particularly good reputation for helping students that may have had unexpected interruptions to their lessons, including broken limbs, tonsillectomies, extended holidays to name a few. The majority of these students come back and continue lessons without a hassle! Just another reason to choose Kids Aquatic Survival School for your lessons!

18.01.2022 Yasssss! This is what we work so hard to achieve! Awesome job to this little dude, his parents and his instructors!!

18.01.2022 GIANT WATER BOMB FISHIES LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FUN TO DO? We had some fun in the pool over the Easter weekend! Instead of using tiny water balloons that are impossible to tie a knot in we opted for regular sized balloons filled with a garden hose and had some giant splashes! Dont forget to clean up all those balloon scraps though and discard of them safely. Have fun!

18.01.2022 Please help our Melbourne franchise by signing this petition to open their doors sooner rather than later

16.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all the amazing Dads we see at lessons each day and those working hard behind the scenes. A very special fathers day to Richard Beesley, our Director at Kids Aquatic Survival School. Thank you for showing us all how its done. Today is a day we appreciate your contribution to family, parental bonds, the sacrifices you make to teach others and your influence on society. We hope your day is made extra special... #fathersday2020 #dadsrule #KASSdads

15.01.2022 What a perfect end to the year! Less than 2 months ago Noah could not swim or float! Now at just 2 years old he can not only swim but he can potentially save his own life! Thanks for allowing me the pleasure of teaching you precious boy #swimminglessons #floatingbabies #kidsaquaticsurvivalschool #quinnsrocksswimming

15.01.2022 This morning we commend, Tate, a young hero. In a busy Christmas pool party he noticed a 6 year old child floating unconscious and swam to his rescue. Having t...he care and courage to swim over, check on him, pull him from the water whilst screaming for help is beyond his years. An important reminder of how quickly and silently #drowning can happen particularly in a busy pool with lots of distractions. Always keep an active watch and have your child skilled in #survival so should they find themselves out of their depth and tire, they understand how to roll onto their back, rest, breathe and call for help. Well done Tate! Perhaps a future starring role in Bondi Rescue Lifeguards

15.01.2022 Say Goodbye Flecia to the sandy car park!!!! Although the lack of traffic has allowed the grass to grow back I am certain it will be a sand pit in no time when we open! We are having it all nicely laid with crushed limestone so no more sandy feet in my pool or in your cars!!! YAY! This does however possibly mean we may move our official opening day so with all the renovation works happening at Kids Aquatic Survival School Quinns Rocks we have set aside the weekend to finally make contact and plan our reopening properly! As Lauren has been distracted with the work load she will be pinned down tomorrow to do some much needed admin. Thanks so much for understanding that the work we are doing is in the interest of creating a better facility for our swimmers

15.01.2022 Kids as young as two are learning the basics of freestyle at kass! We call them rainbow arms to keep our little ones engaged in play whilst learning new skills! Look at that great kicking too!

15.01.2022 Such a sad time. Just think how lucky we are to have the most amazing customers! We havent opeNed in Quinns yet but our hearts are really feeling for our fellow Kids Aquatic Survival School in Melbourne. These guys have worked extremely hard to reopen and tick all the boxes but have sadly had to close their doors again. Just a reminder how serious covid is and how important our babies are at Kids Aquatic Survival School Sending heaps of support! I feel like its easy to have a lack attitude towards covid but its important to remember as Australians we are not passed this but thanks to sensible and fast acting business owners we can get on top of this again

14.01.2022 We are SIX today! 6 years ago Lauren started Kids Aquatic Survival School Quinns Rocks with just two students and has taught hundreds of students in that short time to not only survive but to love and respect the water! Thanks to all our loyal customers over the years we would not be here without you guys!

14.01.2022 Lots of kids come to KASS not wanting to put their face underwater. Some parents believe it’s a real fear or a phobia. We believe a fear is a learned behaviour. A fear of water would mean that the child would not go into a bath or shower, as these are both water environments.... KASS lessons provide students with safe, effective opportunities to learn about being in the water and how to respond appropriately to the demands placed on them by that environment. The water can be a scary place however once children understand they have the skills to manage in it and build competence, their confidence follows. If a parent makes water activities outside of lessons fun and not always hard work all water activities will be enjoyable and the best thing is they will have the skills to enjoy themselves safely. Pictured here is Cooper who was not very keen on swimming but has turned a corner and is loving his lessons now #survivalskills #floatingsaveslives #float2survive #float2live #float2breathe #float4life #floatbreathesurvive

13.01.2022 We apologise for the break in transmission and will be back with you shortly! We are currently undergoing renovations so are super slow on the admin side of the business! Please bare with us and continue to message as we will be back shortly! We officially open for lessons on the 6th of July! If you are a current customer and would like to take off some of the pressure please message us 0448003264 to let us know when you will be back and your preferred day and time. Thanks so much

13.01.2022 Happy Easter Everyone from Kids Aquatic Survival School Quinns Rocks

13.01.2022 Industry concerns for the future of children’s water safety. A dramatic drop in children’s participation in formal water safety lessons will result in a generation who may never learn to swim. "If a seven-, eight- or nine-year-old child can’t yet swim 50 metres and tread water for two minutes, then they should be in swimming and water safety lessons," Justin Scarr - CEO Royal Life Saving ... https://www.smh.com.au//lifesavers-fear-covid-19-has-creat

12.01.2022 1. Recover from a disorientation 2. Remove clothing which may obstruct breathing 3. Remain in a Floating, Breathing posture until help arrives #float2live #float2survive #float2breathe #float4life #kidsaquaticsurvivalschool

09.01.2022 What are everyone’s thoughts on this? Would you hire out your pool or would you be interested in hiring a local pool for a family daycation? At kass we would be interested to know how a high level of supervision would be maintained and perhaps a lifeguard included would be good!

We are currently undergoing renovations and maintenance at Kids Aquatic Survival School Quinns Rocks so have set our date for 6 July 2020 to avoid inconvenience due to trades needed to do so. 09.01.2022 NEW DATABASE CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY We are setting up our new database. The new system will allow parents to reschedule their own lessons without sending text messages back and forth. There are many other great features including student assessments and online invoicing. We are very excited about how simple this will make all our lives however please bear with us as we iron out any teething problems. If you receive an invoice and you have paid please understand we have to generate the invoices before we can reconcile payments so please ignore if you have already paid. Thanks for your patience

08.01.2022 We have had some enquiries assuming that we are able to open however at this stage it is unclear to us at Kids Aquatic Survival School Quinns Rocks what the strict rules for opening public pools are. Please bare with us as we endeavour to find this information out. The potential restriction we may encounter is that our lessons can not be carried out without physical contact between teacher and student.

07.01.2022 KASS Response to COVID-19 KASS would like to reassure our customers that you and your child/rens health and wellness remains our top priority. All KASS lessons... are and will continue to be delivered privately 1 on 1. Meaning there is only ever 1 instructor per child in the water with a maximum of 3 instructors and 3 children in the pool at any time adhering to the Governments recommendation of small groups/gatherings/events. KASS are confident should all children and their carers implement hygiene procedures referenced below there is minimal risk of transmission. Further the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention reports; There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19. Therefore all KASS facilities are currently open and fully operational but weve implemented a number of precautionary measures in response to the current situation, this includes; 1. Hand sanitiser dispensers will be installed at entrances, bathrooms and change rooms 2. 04.01.2022 Ravi Saini, a 10 year old boy, survived for more than an hour using floating advice he had remembered from a BBC TV documentary. "Rescuers praised him when they found him on his back, with his arms and legs spread, shouting for help in the water near Scarborough on 31 July." Float to live advice... The "float to live" advice is a key message in the RNLIs national drowning prevention campaign, Respect the Water It urges people to follow potentially lifesaving advice if they find themselves in trouble after falling into cold water Fight your instinct to swim hard or thrash about - this can lead to breathing in water and drowning Instead, relax and float on your back until you have regained control of your breathing - RNLI #Float2Survive #Float4Life https://www.bbc.com//uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-53687

02.01.2022 Covid negative Most of you know Lauren and her sons have been ill with a virus for the past two weeks. Despite stringent testing they were able to qualify for COVID testing due to the nature of their long term symptoms. Today they have the news that they are negative for the corona virus! Although they have been cleared they are still maintaining strict self isolation and only leaving the house for emergencies and advise all families do the same. Much relief all aroun...d Lauren message: please stay at home as much is possible, the last couple weeks have been incredibly scary in terms of the impact it may have had if we as a family were found to be positive. Its been a real eye opener and a very real reminder that we all have the capability to affect other peoples lives so please stay safe and also make sure your actions are safe for the greater community. I miss my babies terribly and as soon as I am well enough I will be sending some fun videos out to my babies and some educational ones for parents. I love you all and miss you a lot, there is definitely a hole in my life right now See more

01.01.2022 Hello everyone!! We are still currently closed and public swimming pools have not received a date when they can open for business in WA as yet. We will be back in the office from Monday 11 May 2020 and hope to have news about a potential reopen date by then. As a registered swim school we do have to wait for the council to come and test our water and receive the correct results before we can open officially and we do not have control over when this may be. Thanks so much for your patience for the past several weeks. Stay safe and hopefully we will see you soon
