25.01.2022 During covid restrictions we had to stop our self serving of food. Today we reintroduced it! Yeah!!! While self serving we encourage the children to listen to their bodies and decide how much food they will need. This helps them with self awareness and self regulation. Once finished the children then need scrape and clean their bowl, which also improves their self help skills.

15.01.2022 We regularly change the apparatus on our climbing frame. We have a balance beam, climbing ropes, slack lines, monkey bars and we just introduced trapeze rings. By changing apparatus the children strengthen different muscle groups and gross motor skills. Also the enthusiasm associated with a new apparatus means lots of opportunities for turn taking and negotiating with friends.

06.01.2022 Watch as we row, row, row our boat - not only does it take us on imaginary trips to the supermarket and the park but our Ferguson children love to gather to sing songs and rhymes in it too. Children are able to transfer and adapt what they learn from one environment to the other. The Boat provides opportunity for the children to play pretend and explore there local community through their imaginations and memory.

06.01.2022 What a great day for a campfire and some hot chocolate warmed over the fire! We highly value the educational opportunities offered by a 'risky' activity at Kids by the Bay. These 'risky' moments give children a chance to explore their boundaries in a safe and controlled environment.

03.01.2022 Adding Autumn leaves to our always busy sensory boxes have proven to be a big hit this week at Bub Hub. Crunchy leaves, wet dirt, fragrant herbs and river stones engage all the children's senses as educators provide discriptive language of what they can feel, hear and smell.

02.01.2022 We love shaving foam in the Rosny room & have recently learnt that clapping foamy hands makes it look like it's snowing! Our Rosny's also know and are consistently reminded to be careful with our sensory activities as it could go in our mouths or eyes. This fosters their independence, sense of responsibility and consideration for our friends.

01.01.2022 Our Ferguson children have been busy exploring the yard in search of some bugs this week!
