THE BULLSBROOK LONG DAYCARE SERVICE AND THE BULLSBROOK OSHC SERVICE IS OPEN TO ESSENTIAL WORKERS ONLY! ... IHC Bus service will also not be operating due to the school not being open. Bindoon OSHC and Pre-K is still to be determined. If any parents are planning on still sending their children to the Bindoon OSHC or Pre K can you please get in contact with us ASAP if you are planning to attend or not, so we know to send staff to Bindoon tomorrow or not thank you! We’ve displayed our work on a wall in our room with photos and blurbs from the children themselves about how to be a good friend. Perfect for a fresh new year and with lots of new friends starting a perfect opportunity to recap on emotions!

16.01.2022 Vacation Care Parents Just some house keeping... Tomorrow is outback splash and it’s forecast to be very hot. It is extremely important that ALL children are wearing a rashie bather top. If your child is prone to burning easy please also supply zink, on some children’s pale skin 50+ sunscreen just doesn’t cut it, especially in water.... AND it is also best to wear a wide brim hat to cover the neck, ears and more of the face. Drink bottles are also essential as many childr...en have been turning up to excursions without drinking bottles and although we bring a large drink container with us it’s a lot easier if the children have their drink bottles. 14.01.2022 BINDOON FAMILIES!! We are looking at opening our 3yo Kindergarten in term 4. This has been a long process and then due to covid 19 we were set back even further, but with everything looking well we are now looking for enrolments in the three year old program. The program will start by running ONE day per week, progressing into two and hopefully operating at least three days a week by 2021. This will all depend on the amount of interest we receive. ... The program will be run by an early childhood teacher, over seen by a further early childhood teacher and the director of Kidz First. The program is designed in a way to support children in the process towards four year old kindy and both teacher will work with the kindergarten teachers at Bindoon Primary. 13.01.2022 IMMACULATE HEART BUS Parents, we are aware of the bus situation at IHC and we are planning on taking our own kidz first bus up to IHC for drop offs and pick ups every day. We are currently just waiting for a reply from the school, a message that was sent in term 4 of last year. Fingers crossed we get a reply soon so we can get this implemented for you all. In the meantime please call up and let us know if you are needing this bus service so we can get an idea of numbers, we already have a few of you down. Xx

13.01.2022 FIRE UPDATE Hi parents & carers We hope you are all staying safe with this nasty fire... I think plenty of our staff at daycare and many families have had their fair share of scares over night and early hours this morning with evacuations and some like us evacuating live stock! I swear no one in Bullsbrook / Ellenbrook slept last night !!!! ... Due to the daycare still being in the red zone (emergency zone) we are unable to open our doors. I hope you all understand and as soon as the daycare reaches a yellow (watch and act zone) I’ve been told we will be able to reopen. Our educators are amazing thinking of ways to design interesting table top activities for the children. Areas of the room are also set up with an intentional teaching focus or a direct link to our centre philosophy! Happy exploring toddlers!! 11.01.2022 Schoolies - April holidays We will be using both centres this school holidays as we need to fit in with our opening and closing policies and number ratios. DROP OFF - if you are dropping off between 6am and 9am please drop your vacation care children to the long daycare service along chittering road. If you will be dropping off after 9am they will be at the normal vacation care/ schoolies building within the school. ... PICK UP - If you are picking up anywhere between 9am and 4pm the children will still be at the vacation care/ schoolies building within the school. If you are picking up after 4pm the children will be back at the long daycare service along chittering road. Thank you I know this is quite annoying but it is saving us having to worry about meeting our regulations. We are looking forward to a fun filled school holidays with your children, although it’s a shame we cannot go out this year we still have some awesome activities to do like: -stuff and make your own teddy bear -LEGO day -Easter craft -baking day -sensory messy day with slime/goo/play dough -sport day -talent show -dress up day -painting poster moulds And plenty more ! We run a readiness for school program EXACTLY like the programs run at schools, EXCEPT through us you are able to receive a Centrelink rebate! We have two early childhood teachers onsite daily, that alongside our qualified educators have designed and implemented a program that provides our three-year old's with all the necessary skills and pre-requisites for starting four-year-old schooling. ... At Kidz First Pre-Kindy your child will be exposed to: Literacy Skills: Oral language. listening comprehension, oral language vocabulary. Alphabetic Code. alphabet knowledge, phonological/ phonemic awareness (the ability to discriminate sounds in words), invented spelling. Print Knowledge/Concepts. environmental print, concepts about print. 08.01.2022 Absolutely spot on !!! For the health and safety of our employees and the children who attend because their parents are on the front line, please keep your children at home unless you are still working. Childcare educators health is barely thought about with the influx of children, parents and staff we have through our doors daily. Not only our health but this new package is in no way helping centres at all. Families are receiving free daycare at the cost of the provider and we are made to stay open, expected to continue working and providing children with care and education for no profit. Such mixed emotions at this time!

05.01.2022 PARENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY !! DONT JUST UNENROL YOUR CHILDREN FROM THEIR EARLY EDUCATION AND CARE CENTRES PLEASE !!!! There is so much uncertainty in the world at the moment and so many people are losing their jobs, please dont add your child's educators to that list.... I am NOT saying you should send them if you dont feel comfortable. What I am saying is DONT UNENROL THEM. Talk to your centre first. There are a number of things in place from the government to help families and to stop centres from going bankrupt but these measures are only helpful if the children STAY ENROLLED. Firstly, if you or your partner has lost their job or had your wages cut, you can go on to your mygov page and apply for temporary financial hardship. This means that the government will pay your childcare fees in FULL for 13 weeks. The government has also committed to paying the CCS portion of the fees in the event that the centres do go in to lock down. What this means for centres is that we can keep paying our educators, our rent, mortgages and bills etc etc etc. It means that at the end of all of this, there will be centres to send your children to. I implore you, please speak to your centre director and find out your options, BEFORE just pulling your children out. It will make the world of difference to our sector. PLEASE NOTE, by keeping your child enrolled at your centre YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED ! the centre will be able to mark your child as absent and still receive the rebate from the government, this means we can still pay our staff and no one will loose their jobs. PLEASE HELP YOUR CENTRE OUT

Fantastic for families as the parents who are still working and are classed as essential workers are able to now send their children to be educated and cared for, for free, whilst they in return help all the sick people in our state. 03.01.2022 Re-Opening of Kidz first Dear parents and families We hope you have managed to stay safe throughout this dreadful week. As everyone’s aware many of us have had to evacuate our homes, children and animals and it’s been a massive stress on everyone in the community, but hooray to our amazing fire fighters who manage to save all houses in Bullsbrook ! Thanks I don’t think will ever be enough. ... As of Monday the 8th of February Kidz First will re open. This includes: - Kidz First long daycare centre in Bullsbrook - Kidz First Before and After school care Bindoon - Kidz First Pre K Bindoon - Kidz First IHC bus service - Kidz First HCC bus service -Kidz First before and after school care Bullsbrook will remain closed until communication from Bullsbrook Collage allows us to recommence service. For those children who are unable to attend school due to closure please feel free to send those school age children to the long daycare service along Chittering Rd. Please note the chittering rd centre has been checked over for damage and has been cleaned up today in accordance with requirements. In light of the closure of the centre due to being in the red zone and at direct threat, fees will only be charge for the Monday, the rest of the week that the centre was closed, families will not be charged, so please do not worry about your fees. All emails will be answered in due course as of course we have been unable to get down to the daycare centre and obviously have had other issues to deal with. We have staff unable to get to work due to road blocks and staff who have or are In the process of evacuating their homes. 02.01.2022 Vacation care parents Please be advised due to extreme weather conditions tomorrow (41+) and guided by our policies and procedures.... we will not be attending our excursion tomorrow. Instead we will be entertaining the children at the centre with a number of different activities in the air conditioning.
