25.01.2022 Hate is a wasted emotion, generally embraced by those who have emptiness in their hearts and souls. They crave what you have and in fact, despise themselves for lacking the courage, passion and determination to step up, step out and stay the distance.

25.01.2022 I gave a presentation on bullying today at the Ingleburn High school. It was attended by about 30 members of the Student Leadership Council. It was an amazing couple of hours with students who are passionate, focused, driven, determined, respectful and driven. Karen Boswell, the Co-ordinator of Student Services and an old friend from my Ansett days, gave me a great opportunity to present to this positive group of young leaders. I was left in no doubt that Karen is loved and r...espected by the students. The interaction was fantastic and feedback from the students during the presentation was great. I know its difficult to speak out on such an important subject when you have some old geezer at the front of the class droning on. However, they made it fun and very interactive. If these young people are the future of this great nation then it is certainly in safe hands. Thanks Karen sincerely for your time and enthusiasm. This unique opportunity allowed me to impart some knowledge to these young spokespeople to build their resolve to create more positive lives for themselves and others and help them on the journeys on which they are about to embark. I learned a great deal from their involvement. Its amazing the information which can be imparted if we only take the time to listen and engage! X

23.01.2022 ‘Are you happy with mediocrity? If so, there’s no shame in that; enjoy whatever life brings to your door. If you want more, you have to chase your dreams the bigger the better. Never give up: Never give in. Embrace your brand new perspective as your future takes on a whole new meaning’. X

21.01.2022 ‘The how' materialises when you are absolutely resolute on ‘the why’, in the direction your life is moving. When you're working in the support and assistance of others, doorways open and pathways become clear.

14.01.2022 I might preface my previous post about bullying with this short story. From the age of 6 or 7 until I was seventeen, I was bullied. I was very small for my age, with red hair and freckles. The whole scenario was capped off by a teacher who told me I had ... 'The hand of the devil': I was left handed. Apparently that was frowned upon in that prehistoric period. Each and every day of that year I had my hand caned and tied behind my back, forcing me to write with my right hand. ...I was sat in the back of the room and largely forgotten. From that negative experience I developed an advanced speech stutter. I was bulled every day. Apparently I was the class idiot; the spastic; moron; imbecile and fool. I was even Porky Pig. In 5th and 6th form I was spat on, robbed every day with my lunch flushed down the toilet. In those days we didn't complain - it was useless because there was no-one to complain to. We just suffered in silence because after all, it was simply tom foolery; kids playing games. Apparently there was no harm in it .... If I was to enjoy my life, I knew I had to cure myself because I knew I couldn't endure the torment for the rest of my life. I worked incredibly hard. I had a love of singing and used that as a basis to begin my repair. I also forced myself to talk to several different people every day in increasing conversations. It was a struggle but I was determined to rid myself of the affliction because I couldn't see any real future. It worked and for the first time in so long, I was able to walk out into the sunshine of effective communication. I will remember that day forever: 18 December! I have never forgotten the impact of those traumatic days and I often think about how very different my life could have been. I emerged from those dark days with the experience and the knowledge to assist young people rise above the tyranny of bullying, rebuild their self-esteem and feelings of self-worth and make some amazing improvements in their lives. It is possible to escape from the ugliness of bullying. I believe I have created the very program to do just that! X

14.01.2022 Leadership is a strange beast. We have all worked in a business where the 'manager' considered him/herself to be a 'leader'. It is a powerful tag and everyone wants to carry it aloft. So many fall way short of the tag. There are several grades of leader. The only one I find acceptable is the 'Great (exceptional) Leader'. This is the person with a gazillion gifts to share. Too many people in a leadership role, simply don't understand the meaning of the word or the implications.... A great leader is someone with vision, drive, commitment, generosity and respect. This person has more good days than bad but in those instances where there is pressure on the business, the great leader doesn't take out any anger and frustration on the employees. The great leader doesn't bring outside problems and issues into the workplace. This person doesn't constantly judge employees or micro-manage. Its about trust, respect and acknowledgement. The great leader respects employees. This person empowers, enriches, inspires and supports employees to become the very best versions of themselves possible. 13.01.2022 Just before Christmas I received my Diligent & Ethical Service Medal from my former police service. That brings to three the medals I have been awarded (along with the National Medal and the National Police Service Medal). I feel very fortunate to be the recipient of the medals, in recognition and reward for dedicated service.

09.01.2022 A failure; a hurdle; a challenge; an obstacle short diversions, but for a reason. Stay committed; stay focused and above all, stay determined: Use the hurdles as fuel and keep powering on.

05.01.2022 Every moment of every day our lives present us with a series of challenges and obstacles: Blessings and opportunities. Smiles; frowns; laughter and tears. Every day brings us a new set of issues, positive and negative. The way we choose to respond determines how we feel inside. That in turn determines the attitude we carry. Its easy to become upset and angry when things don't seem to be going our way. In reality, life is progressing as it's meant to. As difficult as it can be..., next time you're presented with a problem or issue and your first reaction is to rant and rave, understand the place the issue has in your life. It occurs for a reason. Think about the problem and start looking for a solution. There is always one. Likewise, when things are going well, have gratitude for the positive energy in your life. That too, occurs for a reason. Look on challenges and obstacles as opportunities to start over and do things just a little differently because if we keep doing something the same old way, we will inevitably end up with the same old result. Have a magic week ahead and give your positive focus a go ....

03.01.2022 ‘People who constantly look for change are not always applauded. When you refuse to accept the status quo and strive for something better for the good of all, you're often alienated. It's time to stop thinking & start doing. A dream will always remain a dream without action’!
