25.01.2022 Cheers to ATCA for this little gem...I am sure there’s some great names here that our fans will remember.

24.01.2022 Ok folks, due to public demand/sheer weight of requests I am here to provide an update on the Chics new footballing sensation Shawkat. The good news was he pulled up as fresh as a daisy from his debut last week. No ice baths or intense physiotherapy sessions required. A massive crowd flocked to picturesque Blair Athol Reserve yesterday to see the up and coming rookie play his first game of footy at home. And right from the opening bounce our hero dominated as only he can. The...re were intercept marks, crunching tackles, pin point passes to team mates and huge spoils to make even the most seasoned veterans applaud. The GPS tracker nearly had a meltdown such was the amount of ground Shawkat covered. Whilst the Kilburn B grade didn’t get the win the newest superstar was in dazzling form. Once again selfies and autographs were in high demand post match and Shawkat wishes to thank all his fans for their patience as they waited in the massive line up. Saturday August 8 @ 1215pm the lads are at Blair Athol Reserve again as they host Morphettville Park. My advice is get there early to secure your seat and watch footballs hottest property go about his business. See more

Well done Jay Woolford - ATCA LO6 Leading Wicket Taker & Champion Player in 2018/19 and to back it up again this past season in LO5 was a fantastic effort mate. To Matthew Humphrey Justice I think I speak on behalf of everyone involved at Kilburn when I say you are a worthy recipient of Life Membership. You should be very proud of this honour. Thank you also for your continued outstanding leadership of the B grade cricketers. Thank you to John Carr and Kerrin Martin for coming along as always and presenting the medals in your name. All the players appreciate this. To Danny Parks, Danny Ryan, Matty Moore and Dale Agius thank you for your attendance and support and for supplying the food for the evening. A wonderful gesture that was much appreciated. To Mark 'Bash' Basham for working the bar on the night - thank you and hopefully the Kangaroos can find some form for you by the seasons end. To all the players thank you for your efforts last season. Training has commenced for the 2020/21 season so get involved and be ready for when the season kicks off in around a months time. See you in the nets.

22.01.2022 A nice little write up on our mate Shawkat.

22.01.2022 Good Evening champions, just a few updates to get through. Today was the KFCC AGM. A reasonable turnout of about 35 people were in attendance. The general wash up is that the club through the hard work of the committee, volunteers and general supporters is in very good shape. It was not that long ago that things were looking grim but the wheel has turned and the future appears far brighter.... Cricket training has been up and running for 4 weeks with both indoor and outdoor sessions taking place. The T20 side kicks things off on Saturday October 10 against Glenunga at Glenunga. The following Saturday the LO2 and LO4 sides kick off their season proper. For players wanting to order either black T20 or standard white playing shirts then this has to be done through jssportsonline.com.au. And a reminder that tonight is the cut off for ordering so don’t miss out lads. On Saturday October 17 The RockDogs are playing a concert at the KFCC. Free entry so bring your mates along for a night of singing and fun. This promises to be a great night so don’t miss out trendsetters. For the cricketers there is training this Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at Kilburn. Don’t be shy - come along and get amongst it as the season is only a few short weeks away. As always the lucky squares are available. Hit Jay Woolford or myself up if you want to purchase any squares for a chance to win cash or prizes.

22.01.2022 Putting the health and safety of all participants, volunteers and the wider community first, and in line with the decisions made for elite cricket, Cricket Aust...ralia has recommended that all Premier and Community Cricket competitions cancel all cricket activity for the remainder of the 2019/20 season. Your local State or Territory Association is communicating directly with its clubs, associations, school competitions and indoor centres with more detailed advice. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

21.01.2022 Ok champions, quick score update from yesterday’s matches. The A grade ventured out to West Beach to take on Adelaide Lions. Kilburn 109 (27.5 overs)... Asif 21 not out defeated by Adelaide Lions 9/110 (38.5 overs) Najeeb 4/33 (9 overs) Said Haidar 3/19 (9 overs) The B grade hosted Walkerville. Walkerville 8/159 (40 overs) Anthony Lennon 3/19 (4 overs) Ejaz 3/26 (8 overs) defeated Kilburn 147 (30 overs) Raza RRaza 32 Hadi 27 not out. So two disappointing results for our sides. Both sides inability to bat anywhere near their allotted overs has proven to be incredibly costly. It would be good to see as many cricketers as possible attend training on Thursday to work on their batting. Also, fees are due so please see Jay Woolford to make your payments.

21.01.2022 Ok people, time to wish the KFCC Cricket Director & three time premiership winning superstar Jay Woolford the happiest of birthdays. Have a great day champion.

21.01.2022 Righto champions, it was drawn a couple of weeks ago but I’ve been a tad slack with the announcement. The latest instalment of the cricketers lucky squares has been run and won by all round good guy Heath aka the Heathenator. He can be seen at football home games working in the canteen/kitchen like an absolute beast. The great man has taken home a Coopers beanie, a Coopers bag and a slab of Coopers Pale Ale. Congratulations Heath. Here he is being handed his prize by Cricket... Director Jay Woolford. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the cricketers cause. All the players appreciate your generosity. If you are keen to get involved in the next draw just hit me up. See more

20.01.2022 Good evening folks...time for a little Saturday night wrap up from today’s Round 2 matches. After round one was washed out a fortnight ago all players were itching to get amongst the action today. The A grade (LO2) hosted Adelaide Lions.... Adelaide Lions 160 (40 overs) Ali Haider 3/19 Said Haidar 2/31 Najeeb Ansari 2/31 Sunny Ameer 2/42 defeated Kilburn 143 (34.2 overs) Hamid Hussain 39 Karim 25 The B grade (LO4) ventured to Devitt Oval in Trinity Gardens to tackle Payneham. Payneham 59 (21.1 overs) Raza RRaza 4/25 Jay Woolford 3/9 Mehdi Qasimi 2/2 defeated by Kilburn 5/60 (13.3 overs) Ejaz 16 not out So mixed results for the sides today. Next week the A grade play Adelaide Lions again this time at West Beach Playing Fields (bizarre programming from ATCA on that one) whilst the B grade host Walkerville. Both matches get under way at 1pm... don’t be shy to come to either game and support the lads.

20.01.2022 Thanks to ATCA for once again delving into the archives to find this little gem. How’s the opening partnership? As per last time, I am sure there’s a few names our fans will remember.

18.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY to dual premiership skipper, life member & multi award winning cricketing superstar Matthew Humphrey Justice. Have a great day pal. Hope you get the chance to celebrate with a tray of your favourite cinnamon donuts tonight.

17.01.2022 Ok folks, obviously things have been a tad quiet around the traps lately but the Chic’s lads just wanted send out a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout out to dual premiership winning superstar Jason Wear aka Wiz, aka Sausage Fingers. We all hope you had a wonderful day champion.

17.01.2022 Ok folks, quick update on amateur footy’s major star Shawkat. Just to recap he missed last weekends match due to a horrible knee injury. We were fortunate to have some contacts in the medical profession and world renowned orthopaedic surgeon Doctor Imin Paine was granted special permission from the Morrison government to be flown into Adelaide to assess our man. Dr Paine was adamant that the situation didn’t kneed any knee jerk reactions nor was this a time for kneeding to hi...t the operating table. For confidentiality reasons I am unable to disclose exactly what Dr Paine did but whatever it was it did the job for Shawkat was able to take to the field in yesterday’s home clash against Pulteney. Speculation was rife amongst the crowd pre game about Shawkat taking his place but all fears were quickly put to bed when Shawkat in his trusty #12 guernsey ran onto the field for the warm ups. And it was like he hadn’t missed a beat as he showed his usual dash from defence. Pulteney coach Matthew Bedgegood has clearly done his homework on the Chics superstar and quickly took the unprecedented step of implementing a quadruple tag on Shawkat. I know folks, 4 men were sent to our hero in a bid to quell his influence in the game. It mattered not as all 4 players were treated with disdain as our boy racked up the stats. And just as impressive was the fact Shawkat got through the match unscathed and reported no ill effects today. Unfortunately his efforts weren’t enough to get the lads the win as Pulteney pulled away in the second half to take the points. So, this Saturday is the final round and the Chics tackle Woodville South at Woodville South. This will be your final chance to see Shawkat take to the footy field this season. First bounce is 12.15pm and you know the drill peeps - GET THERE EARLY TO GET A SPOT!! See more

17.01.2022 ROUND 2 B GRADE MATCH REPORT. Opponent: Payneham Venue: Devitt Oval, Trinity Gardens Date: Saturday October 31, 2020...Continue reading

16.01.2022 Good to catch up with a few of the cricket lads on Saturday at the footy.

13.01.2022 Ok rockers, the RockDogs are a local rock band who are coming to play at the KFCC on Saturday October 17. Come one, come all for a big night of music. Bring your singing voices. Free entry. Bar open.

11.01.2022 Ladies & Gentlemen...the time has finally come for the 2019/20 Kilburn Cricket Presentation Night. We know the cricket season finished in March but unfortunately due to that COVID thingy any thoughts of celebrating the season had to be put aside for everyone's sake. So, FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 4, 2020 @ 6.30pm all players, family members and the wider Kilburn fraternity are welcome to come along to the club for a fun night of back slapping & talking each other up whilst we dish out ...some much deserved cricketing awards. 10.01.2022 OK folks, usually on a Saturday evening we'd pop up the scores from the days big matches. Today was meant to be semi final day but unfortunately with the COVID-19 pandemic situation ATCA have cancelled the remainder of the season (Semi Finals & Grand Finals). What does this mean for the Kilburn lads? Well, the B grade side have been declared the 2019/20 ATCA LO5 Premiers. To recap on their season the boys finished minor premiers with a fantastic record of 15 wins & 1 loss to ...finish 3 games clear of second placed Concordia. Whilst all the players were keen to play today & all going well next week we have had to accept ATCA's decision. The B grade side is wonderfully well lead by captain Matthew Justice. He is an astute leader who reads the game better than anyone I have played with. To Matty I say congratulations to you on the way you captained this side. In 2018/19 you took the boys to the LO6 premiership & to back it up again was a brilliant effort. Well done & thanks mate. To Jay Woolford our Cricket Director, thank you for your continued & hard work pal. You have been a wonderful link between cricket , the wider Kilburn club & the council as well as being a ripper bloke. You should be proud of your efforts. To the B grade players very well done on your season. You played with good spirit & accepted all challenges with enthusiasm & without complaint. To lose just the 1 match is a huge achievement. To our loyal supporters who come cheer us on - THANK YOU all. We greatly appreciate you giving up your free time to come watch us. I'd like to pay particular thanks to the following supporters: Kerrin Martin who is a good sounding board for the lads & is always on offer to provide 'gentle' advice. Dennis Zomer for scoring at all home games & having to put up with the lads asking him what the scores are or what a particular batsmen's score is every 30 seconds. Larry Boyle for always geeing the boys up with his words of wisdom & generally pumping up our tyres. And for buying shit loads of lucky squares. Kev Mason & Charlie & Janice Democoli for always coming along & not only cheering the lads on but digging into their pockets & buying tons of lucky squares to help keep the cricket. side of things afloat. Baz for cooking barbies & getting the afternoon teas ready so when we walk off the field it is all sorted for us. Champions like these people are what makes our club fantastic - thanks again. Back to the players for a moment - congratulations again to A grade skipper Saleh Qasimi for taking out the ATCA LO2 bowling award. An excellent effort bud. And to Jay Woolford (JWo) - what a season - taking out the ATCA LO5 Champion Player Award & the ATCA LO5 bowling award. Couldn't have gone to a better bloke. And to all my team mates - thank you for your commitment to the cause - I love you all.

09.01.2022 Ok champions, just a few bits and pieces to sort through. We have some Chics merchandise for sale at the moment. Black Kilburn hats $10 KFCC baggy cricket caps $25 ... KFCC Back2Back Premiers shirts $20. See Jay Woolford or myself to grab any of these beauties. Also, just a gentle reminder that Saturday October 17 the RockDogs are playing at Kilburn from 7-11pm. Free entry. Bring your dancing shoes and singing voices. This promises to be a brilliant night.

09.01.2022 Ok folks, just an update regarding today’s big round one matches. Unfortunately both matches have been abondoned without a ball being bowled due to the inclement weather. Next Saturday the Chic’s T20 side play their Round 2 match v Adelaide University at Blair Athol Reserve from 1pm.... And just a little reminder that RockDogs are performing tonight at Kilburn from 7-11pm. Free entry. It will be good to see as many people as possible at the club for a big night.

08.01.2022 It was great pleasure that I can announce that Sunny Ameer (aka Saleh) & Matthew Humphrey Justice will again captain the Kilburn cricket sides in season 2020/21. Both of these lads are highly credentialed cricketers and well thought of amongst our players. Saleh is again leading the A grade who are playing in the LO2 division. The boys will be looking to continue on from their good form of last season under his leadership. Matty will lead the B grade for the third straight season as they look to make their mark after earning promotion to LO4. Congratulations gentlemen - lead well and I am sure you will do this great club proud.

07.01.2022 A few snap shots of the lads from some recent indoor training sessions.

06.01.2022 Good morning folks, time for a score update from the T20 played at the delightful Blair Athol Reserve yesterday. Under grey skies and strong winds our lads batted first against Adelaide Uni on a beautiful looking pitch. Kilburn 159 (19.4 overs) Jaffari 51 (with some massive 6’s)... Said Haidar 28 Israr ‘Issy’ Khan 21 (including one of the biggest 6’s seen) Najeeb Ansari 19 defeated Adelaide Uni 72 (19.3 overs) Najeeb Ansari 3/14 (off 4 overs) Israr Khan 2/7 (off 4 overs) So a comprehensive 87 run win to the boys. That’s 2/2 to start their T20 campaign. Well done lads. The next T20 is scheduled for Tuesday December 1 against Adelaide Rockets starting at 5.10pm. The regular season recommences next Saturday October 24 with the LO2 side hosting Adelaide Lions at Blair Athol Reserve and the LO4 lads playing away against Payneham at Devitt Reserve. Both games commence at 1pm and please feel free to come along to either venue and support the boys.

06.01.2022 Righto folks, time for the weekly Shawkat update. Amateur footy’s newest hero laced up the boots for game three for the mighty Chics yesterday. I can report that our man played another solid game in defence repelling many Morphetville Park forward thrusts. His ability to read the play belies his rookie status. His field kicking has been likened to club great Scott Galbraith and his fierce tackling reminiscent of 287 game club legend Kevin Mason.... The future looks bright for Shawkat though I don’t feel we will really see his best footy until he’s thrown into the midfield where he’ll really be able to showcase his skills. As per usual, selfies and autographs were the order of the day post match as his fans rushed to see him and thank him for the privilege. Great work Shawkat. Sadly the Kilburn B grade boys didn’t get the victory but the good news is they have the chance to make amends this Saturday when they tackle Walkerville at Walkerville from 12.15pm. Get there early to get your seat and watch the hottest player in town strut his stuff. See more

06.01.2022 Righto people, just a quick recap from last night. It was good to see a few faces come along to enjoy the talents of local band RockDogs as they kept us entertained with a fantastic array of songs. Danny Ryan turned back the clock as he produced some of his best dance moves. He moved around the dance floor with the same ease as which he danced around hapless opponents throughout his illustrious football career at Kilburn. Crackers wasn’t far behind in the dancing stakes. Wor...d is he took his moves to Zhivago’s Nightclub upon leaving last night. A massive thank you to all those who contributed to the raffles/lucky squares. Your support is greatly appreciated. To recap, the prize winners were as follows: Bottle of Jim Beam Maple: Anthony Lennon Bottle of Bundy: James Plaistow which he kindly donated back. Bottle of Bundy: Janice Demicoli which she kindly donated back. A box of what looked like a million bottles of Gin: Sharon Parks. $50 cash: Matty Moore. Congratulations. And many thanks to James and Janice for their generosity in donating back their prizes for future raffles. You are a couple of gems. To Charlie Demicoli we thank you for donating prizes. Your continued support and generosity is fantastic mate. Many thanks also to Councillor’s Barbara Clayton & Carolyn Martin for coming along and supporting this event. Your attendance meant so much. To Mark 'Bash' Basham and his awesome staff - thanks for putting up with us all and explaining all the COVID do’s and dont’s throughout the evening To all members of RockDogs thank you ever so much for coming along and putting on such a fantastic show. It was a night of great music. A quick reminder that the Kilburn T20 side play at home from 1pm on Saturday October 24. Feel free to come down and watch the lads and enjoy a beverage before kicking back at Club Kilburn for the AFL Grand Final in the evening.

03.01.2022 Ok folks, I regularly receive enquiries from our loyal legions of fans with a multitude of requests but today so many of you have DEMANDED we highlight Kilburn footy’s newest cult figure with his own special write up. And I am not one to not give the fans what they want so I can reveal that premiership winning cricket superstar and all round good guy Shawkat made his long awaited footy debut for the Chics today as he laced up the boots and pulled on the famous black and white... guernsey at Hope Valley Oval in the B grade. People came from far and wide to witness history. And our hero did not disappoint as he took to footy with ease as he racked up the stats like a seasoned veteran. He continually put his body on the line in a selfless display. Children queued up at the conclusion of the match for an autograph and grown men and women gathered around for a selfie with the new sensation. Well done Shawkat and hope you don’t wake up too sore tomorrow legend. See more

02.01.2022 Righto peeps, just a quick score update from the big T20 match from today. The boys ventured out to Margaret Bond Reserve to tackle Glenunga. They won the toss and batted. Glenunga 9/120 (off 20 overs)... Sunny Ameer 3/23 off 4 Najeeb Ansari 2/23 off 4 Raza RRaza 2/24 off 4 Israr 1/24 off 4 Haider 0/24 off 4 defeated by Kilburn 9/122 (off 19.1 overs) Said Haidar 26 not out off 29 balls Najeeb 20 off 21 balls Israr Khan 18 off 7 balls (with three huuuuge 6’s) Raza 17 off 18 balls With 5 runs required off the last over with one wicket in hand The Rockstar Haider promptly disposed of the first delivery of the 20th over 40 metres over the square leg boundary to give the Chics a magnificent victory. After a disciplined bowling effort the batting got off to a shaky start as we were reeling at 5/19 early on and then 8/73 before a superb comeback saw victory come Kilburn’s way. Well done lads that was a stirring comeback.

02.01.2022 Time for some Kilburn Cricket News. It is with great pleasure that I can announce that A grade captain Saleh Qasimi has finished the season as the LO2 leading wicket taker. Saleh took 34 wickets at an average of 10.18 with best figures of 4/14 v Adelaide Warriors. Congratulations Saleh.... And... Jay Woolford has finished the season as the LO5 leading wicket taker. Jay finished the season with 36 wickets at an average of 10.31 with best figures of 6/17 v Prince Alfred Old Collegians. I can also announce that Jay was also awarded the LO5 Champion Player having amassed the most points across the minor round. (Points are awarded for each run, wicket, catch, run out) Jay also won the LO6 Champion Player Award in 2018/19 as well as being the 2018/19 LO6 leading wicket taker with 39 wickets. Across the last two seasons Jay has the wonderful record of taken 75 wickets in 28 LO matches for the club. To go back to back is an extraordinary effort - very well done JWo. We are extremely proud of you mate.

01.01.2022 Right folks, no doubt you’ve caught up on last weeks devastating news that amateur footy’s great entertainer Shawkat was a late scratching for last weekends B grade match against Walkerville. Our hero had a knee injury. Orthopaedic specialists the world over offered their expertise on how to get our man better. What did his future hold? Would he be able get back on the field? What about the fans?... There were so many questions. Well, we now have an answer. Shawkat is back for tomorrow’s massive match against Pulteney people. So rid yourself of those tears of sadness and turn them into tears of joy. Order has been restored. My advice...get down to the beautiful Blair Athol Reserve and get your vantage spot and prepare to be treated to an Aussie Rules Football master class from the games hottest property. First bounce is 12.15pm so get there early to save lining up. Selfies and autographs as usual post match but please form an orderly queue.
