17.01.2022 Thanks to all those who attended our 2020 season launch yesterday. It was a privilege to have these 3 sporting super stars and be entertained by funny man Evan Hocking.

15.01.2022 It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the KBFNC pass on the news this morning of the passing of club Legend and stalwart David Brown. Davids contribution to the club of 63 years from 1957 is unsurpassed and has been a cornerstone to the sustainability of our club. He has been ably supported in this by his dearly loved wife Janice. The club are putting together a more substantial tribute of Daves involvement and contribution over his 63 years. ... Unfortunately due to restrictions most of us have not had the opportunity to be in his company over the last few months. However, our memories of David will be with us forever. His infectious smile and cheeky character will be dearly missed at our club and throughout the community. Our condolences and deepest sympathies are extended to Janice, Sharyn, Trudy, Darren, Simon and their families. Rest In Peace little mate #5

15.01.2022 Checking in on our valued sponsors to see how they are managing throughout Covid 19.

14.01.2022 PANTHERS secure experienced senior coach for season 2021 The Kilcunda Bass Football Netball Club are very pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Wright as its senior coach for the 2021. The club is thrilled to have someone with the all round experience of Steve to head the club up not only as the senior football coach but also in the area of player development and general club experience having coached at a number of levels over many years. Steve is well known for hi...s playing career at the Sydney Swans where he played 246 senior games and won the Swans Best and Fairest twice in his time there. He represented both Victoria and New South Wales on many occasions at interstate level. In 2003 he was inducted into the Swans Team of the Century and then in 2011 was inducted into the Swans Hall of Fame, honours that are bestowed on people of great character along with their football prowess. Steve has coached at all levels over a number of years including State Leagues in Tasmania (Clarence FC), South Australia (Central Districts), the ACT (Queanbeyan) and the VFL (North Ballarat). He has also coached in the TAC Cup (ACT Rams) the nations elite under 18 competition. In more recent years he has been heavily involved at both suburban and country levels here in Victoria. A close look at his coaching career shows a high degree of success with a combination of premierships and grand final experiences. He has never been out of the game and has been part of its evolution over a number of years. With very few exceptions all clubs he has coached have been left in very good shape when he has moved on to further coaching opportunities. It is very important that the club appoints a solid experienced coach given where we are at with our future structure and the importance of stability and we believe that Steves appointment together with the recent announcement of Campbell Brown as assistant coach and player for 2021 presents a very strong statement as to where the club is at. Again it is worth reiterating the importance of player development at all levels both on and off the field and Steve Wright has this experience and values in spades. To have our coaches locked away at this time of the year gives the club a really strong platform to build on for next year, something that normally isnt in place until the summer months with many clubs The Club welcomes Steve and his family, wife Kerrie and daughter Jess and look forward to formally welcoming them in person when the opportunity presents itself. We also welcome Steves son Josh as a player to the club. The family live locally at Phillip Island. Cheers Shea Eden on behalf of the Committee of the Kilcunda Bass Football Netball Club

11.01.2022 NEWS JUST IN Following an email just received from AFL Gippsland It would be an understatement to say that we are in the midst of an unprecedented time in our lives. Whilst COVID-19 is changing the way we live our day to day lives, my hope is that we are all looking after ourselves, our family and our community to the best of our abilities. ... Today I would like to update you on the following: On Sunday 12 April, the Victorian Government announced that the State of Emergency declared last month has been extended until midnight 11 May 2020 to continue the measures designed to flatten the curve of coronavirus and give our health system the best chance of managing the virus. The State of Emergency was originally due to expire on 13 April. It is expected that Stage 3 restriction will be in place until at least 11 May in line with this announcement. As a result, AFL Gippsland will be extending the date for the earliest commencement of a season to 31 May. This extension would allow for close to a three week lead in providing an appropriate wind back of restrictions is in place as of 12 May. It is our intention to play football and netball at some stage in 2020 and this is the basis of our ongoing operational and budgetary planning across a range of season start date scenarios. We are currently working with local councils and cricketing bodies to explore ground availability and season length options. A club survey will be released for all Gippsland clubs in the next fortnight to assist us with this planning. Hopefully everyone has had a safe and enjoyable Easter as possible in the current climate. The last 4 or so weeks have been challenging and difficult for everyone to say the least. Know one has been prepared to deal with the current situation and the effects on individuals and family have been widely effected and in some cases quite devastating for some people. As a responsible community sporting club we will be taking the very best advise and wont be necessarily following blindly into an early resumption into the league if we arent comfortable at that time to do so. Having said that we all hope we can resume when expert advise says it is safe to do so. The health and well being of our players, coaches, committee, volunteers, life members, and all members and supporters is absolutely paramount throughout this period. In closing it will be important that everyone keeps in touch as best they can and our thoughts are with everyone as we do our best to get through this challenging time. If there is anyone struggling in anyway with the current restrictions, effects in employment and overall isolation then the club is here to support you so please dont hesitate to pick up the phone text or email. Regards Shea Eden (President) on behalf of the KBFNC Committee

11.01.2022 Great to see clubs united on this one.

11.01.2022 To: Kilcunda Bass Football Netball Club Community Re: Season update This week the committee was able to meet for the first time since the restrictions put in place by the government earlier this year. After a very productive meeting the following was confirmed moving forward.... As was communicated via social media, Dean Pipicelli has stepped down as Senior Football Coach. The club welcomes Nathan Muratore as Senior Football Coach for the remainder of the 2020 season. Nathan is stepping into this role having been Assistant Senior Coach from the beginning of the season and his experience and wisdom is welcomed in this role. Both Senior and Junior Football will begin training in the next few weeks. There is discussion occurring at the league level around a potential start date for a version of the 2020 season although specific plans are not yet in place. In particular, there is consideration of a start date for Junior Football of 11 July, but Junior and Senior Netball, and Senior Football are yet to consider any specific dates. A meeting will be occurring with the Junior Netball and Football coaches in the next week to consider options for the remainder of the season. It is now mandatory that every club have a Covid Safe Officer to oversee the health and safety of all players and supporters during this time period. Given the significant workload involved in this position it has been developed into a shared role amongst a group of key volunteers and we thank them all for their time and efforts in this new and challenging time. The club continues to pay bills (such as the newly installed lights around the oval) and any increase in activity will require more funds, but without the proceeds of a game day, we need to seek alternative options for fundraising. There will be more information about these options in the next few weeks as the context changes for the number of people able to gather in specific spaces and facilities. On behalf of the committee I thank all club supporters for their support through this highly unusual and very different season. As always, it is the supporters of the club that make all the difference in a challenging or a highly successful season and your support in the many different ways it has been given over the past few months has been greatly appreciated by the committee. Shea Eden President Kilcunda Bass Football Netball Club

We would like to thank all players members and supporters for their input and support throughout this period of great uncertainty. Regards Shea Eden (President) And the KBFNC Committee
