25.01.2022 It makes my day getting update photo's especially as I'm getting all emotional getting ready to say my goodbyes. Here is Daisy from Tilly and Jack's 2017 litter - full sister to our current litter! And a big shout out to Daisy's sister Cody who is nearly 16 - wow.

21.01.2022 Before we welcomed two legged children into our family our fur babies were our kids. 13 years ago this old chook was born and really did lead us into a false sense of security of having a lab pup as our only loss during her adolescent years was a lemon tree. Such a gentle, beautiful natured girl, fabulous mum, sister from another mother and protector of her two legged brothers. Happy Birthday Tayla Jayne

06.01.2022 I just saw this post and thought I would share. Admin PLEASE Allow as a warning to everyone .... this is important Thank you Just a little warning regarding the Xmas treat many stores are now starting to stock for dogs at xmas.... Many of these so called treats end up with the dog "enjoying" some time in a veterinary surgery over Christmas. The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China. The chews are made from cattle or horse hides and their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulfide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell. Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes. On testing, these chews have shown traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium and formaldehyde. If that wasn't bad enough, they regularly cause intestinal blockages, poisoning from chemical residue and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog. Leave them in the shop where they belong or if some well meaning person buys them for your dog put them safely away for later, then dispatch in the bin! Please be safe with your dogs!

05.01.2022 Some of you have not seen the post on my personal page but unfortunately Kilegama Labs will be taking a break for the foreseeable future. We have been absolutely rocked and are devastated to have to say goodbye to Miss Tilly last Thursday morning 3 days shy of her 7th Birthday. What a dog!!! Bloody stupid, gorgeous, window licker but an amazing Mum.... 2 weeks of cuddles and special moments. I watched her come into this world and I sat quietly with her as she left this world. Kilegama Labs will be taking a break to let our hearts recover before we can welcome another member to our family and spend quality time with Tayla and Monnie. Silly Tilly you truly were one of a kind and have taken a piece of our hearts. Thanks to Rob and the amazing team at Eureka Vets, Advanced Vetcare and Edenhills Pet Cremation Melbourne. 2019 saw Dad say goodbye to Myah and us Tilly but we find comfort in the kind words and caring thoughts from our Kilegama family and knowing that we were able to play a small part in helping you all welcome a furry, loveable member to your families. 14.12.2021 It would be remiss of us not to give a massive shout out to our fur Mummies today! Tayla who is on her downhill run to the age of 14 and Maggie Mae at 11 1/2 years have been spoilt with a special breakfast and lots of snoozing. We have also taken time to remember Myah and Tilly our two other special fur Mummies.... We hope that our Kilegama fur babies took the time to spoil their hooman Mum's today

01.12.2021 We wouldn't have a Labrador page if we didn't love our labs but every now and again you allow (actually I had no say in it) an intruder into the ranks. Montana (Monnie) was a sister from another mother and firmly implanted herself into our family. Bulldogs are not known for their athletic prowess so loved nothing more than using Tayla as her own personal pillow and the only time she showed any aggression is when Tilly wouldn't allow her to eat her dinner in her own time. 6.5... years ago she aspirated some food into her lungs and the vets said she wouldn't pull through but I wouldn't allow them to give up. She defied them all and made it through. Let's just say we didn't get curtains in our new house for quite some time. Yesterday she had stomach bloat which put pressure on her lungs and she aspirated again. We knew that the odds were stacked against her second time around. In the early hours of this morning we said our goodbyes to our precious little Monnie. The rose between the thorns as my husband used to call her. We are all heartbroken and I told the boys this morning that our lives wouldn't be as rich if we didn't have them in our lives even though only for a short time.
