24.01.2022 Our deepest condolences to the Brosnan family. Claire was a long time member of the Killarney Show & Rodeo Society. She was an Honorary Life Member and held the position of Treasurer from 1977 1988. Prior to this Claire was heavily involved in the original Killarney Rodeo Committee. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
18.01.2022 We wish to advise that the Waddle, Saddle & Pedal will not be going ahead this year. We hope that we will see you again in 2021.
17.01.2022 It is with great thanks to the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal FRRR for their contribution towards the Killarney Show & Rodeo Society to continue with upgrades to the Supper Room. This grant has allowed us to make repairs to the interior and exterior of the building, repaint the interior and exterior, replace stairs and doors and upgrade fire exits.
16.01.2022 On the 28th November we are having a 80th birthday party to celebrate our fantastic swimming pool. 80 years ago a group of Killarney men & women built our pool ...thank you your children & grandchildren and meny others have enjoyed this fantastic centre. So please come & celebrate with us. Hope to see you there. Cheers Shirl See more
15.01.2022 Some of our pipers had the honour today of playing at the Remembrance Day service in Killarney. Lest we forget.
14.01.2022 We are sorry to say that due to uncertainty around events or gatherings of any kind into the future (damn you Covid-19), we are not proceeding with planning for... Killarney Bonfire Night 2020. Killarney Bonfire Night is usually held on the second last weekend in July each year. That will make it Sat 17 July in 2021... But watch this space... #StayatHome #StaySafe #EasteratHome #Covid19
13.01.2022 Lest we forget. Light up the Dawn this Anzac Day.
11.01.2022 We are always very appreciative of anyone who gives their time, no matter how little, to assist the Killarney Show & Rodeo Society. During National Volunteer Week we would like to acknowledge every single person who volunteers during the year. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
08.01.2022 Montview Killarney open garden is open every day from October 10 to November 14 daily from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The last time we opened was in spring 2018 and we plan to open for the above period of time this year. However, we will be adhering to the current Queensland Government’s Covid19 restrictions and we would recommend that you please phone or email to book a time before you visit, especially if you are travelling some distance. The drought last year took its toll and t...his year we removed dozens of plants including some roses. This gave us the opportunity to redesign parts of the garden and to introduce new plants. This year, we have planted many new perennials as well as annuals. Perennials include Salvia, Catmint, Gaura, Penstemon, Lavender, Rosemary, Sea Lavender, Geraniums, Gazania, Osteospermum and Chrysanthemums. Annuals include Iceland and Flanders Poppies, Stock, Snapdragon, Lobelia, Cornflower, Petunias, Phlox and Gypsophila. Older plantings have matured and the roses are very healthy and vigorous. We still have over 300 roses. The kaleidoscope of colour and drifting fragrance in the garden will definitely delight the senses and raise the human spirit. Mark and I enjoy sharing our garden and chatting about plants and gardening experiences. This year again, we have plants for sale that I have propagated from plants growing in the garden. Our address is 3 Rose Street, Killarney. Drive past the school for about a kilometre and turn right up Pansy Street. Turn left at the top of the street and you will see our garden. Plants will be for sale. Email: [email protected] Phone: 0400432808 We look forward to your visit. Annette Russell See more
