25.01.2022 We have postponed the drawing of our raffle to Tuesday 24th November at our school's Awards Night. We are unable to set a date for the ride during these uncertain times so the committee decided to use a school event for the draw in case the worst happens and we are unable to run this year.

15.01.2022 It is with great disappointment that we must postpone the Killarney Trail Ride at this time. We will announce a new date once we have consulted with our community groups. The final decision is now beyond our control as one of the many permits we are required to obtain in order to run the event has been cancelled based on the overall safety of participants, volunteers and the general community. The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) has also recommended l...imits on organised gatherings, including limiting non-essential organised gatherings to fewer than 500 people. https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for In preparing to make a decision we considered many factors, first and foremost our duty of care to the community of Killarney. Whilst there will be a huge financial impact on our entire community, the committee believes that the health and safety of our residents comes first. Killarney has an aged care facility and a lot of our volunteers are in some way connected to this, whether it be as workers or volunteers. Many of our other volunteers work in the aged care sector outside of Killarney. Not to mention the risk of spreading the virus to older people who live and work in our community. Another factor to be considered is the unnecessary pressure we would be putting on the Warwick Hospital system to deal with injuries from our ride on top of the mounting toll of testing people for COVID-19. We have also been advised that if you did require surgery due to an injury this would more than likely be delayed. We would also be required to have a quarantine area for anyone with injuries presenting with symptoms. This would require us to employ more first aid personnel so that all injuries could be dealt with promptly. It is vitally important that we attempt to keep our first responders healthy and not unnecessarily expose them to further risk. We will continue to promote our sponsors and we thank them for their continued support during this time. Raffle tickets will still be sold in Warwick and Killarney and we will announce a new date for the draw once a new ride date has been set. We greatly appreciate the offers of donation and we encourage you and your families to come and visit Killarney and support our local businesses. While you are here, make sure you buy some raffle tickets. 09.01.2022 DISPLAYS/STALLS We would just like to remind anyone who is planning on having a display or a stall at the ride that you MUST obtain approval from the trail ride committee and that all the necessary documentation must be completed prior to the event. The committee can be contacted by sending a message or by email. The committee will not be approving any catering stalls.
