25.01.2022 $36M CABLE BEACH PROJECT The Broome Shire has released the first proposal for Cable Beach redevelopment. The proposed plan includes a new promenade to better connect the precincts north and southern ends, an amphitheatre, water playground and space for public art and events.... The Shire is already lobbying both State and Federal Governments to support the redevelopment, after similar refurbishments of Chinatown and Town Beach. "It makes sense that Cable Beach would be the next precinct in line to be refreshed," Shire Deputy President Desiree Male. "The upgrades will prove to be a major asset for Broome, attract more visitors to our region and provide the community with improved spaces in the Cable Beach area." Shire representatives will be at Courthouse markets this Saturday for you to have your say.
