24.01.2022 HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY! We thought today was only fitting that we introduce the fur behind the faces of our Kimberley vet staff. 1) The main man! SPUD! Spudlet is our reppin KANE KID he runs and protects the clinic and everyone in it. Don’t let his pic fool you... he’s one tough cookie! ... 2) Willow and Akira- Desanka’s baby and grand baby, these two are butter in mum’s hands, they are world class security guards! Everyone needs ID and a stamp to enter!! 3) Womble- Sarah’s right hand lady, this lovely old girl is quite, calm and always watching. She knows all the secrets and is somewhat a celebratory, she’s in the paper more than anyone I know! 4) Penny and Maggie- Tegan’s cheeky children. Talk about chalk n cheese but they are inseparable. One will kill you with kisses while the other one steals your heart! 5) Meeko and Cat - Emily’s recent additions, one teaches the manners and the other makes sure playtime never ends... can you guess who is is who. Show us your fur babies, we love to see them all.

19.01.2022 Someone call Nelly because It’s gettin hot in here And by that we mean it’s waaaaay to hot lately!! So please don’t forget to think about the animals at this time, especially those that don’t have access to air conditioning. ... Always have shade and water available, not only for your pets but maybe put some out for the wildlife around, the birds will Thankyou. Cars!!! we all know the rule... dogs die in hot cars!! We know it sounds scary... but it is very much the truth! This also goes for the Ute, please make sure if your pets are on the back they have some shade and are not burning their pads off on a hot tray, if it’s too hot for your hand it’s too hot for their feet! And remember if you’ve got a furball think about getting them a trim, could you imagine wearing a wooly jumper in this weather?? A little goes along way to help keep our four legged loved ones more comfortable.
19.01.2022 When your stuck in isolation and your dog is growing velociraptor claws.... certainly one way to try it home We love the innovation!
19.01.2022 Creature of the week: This super cute dude is Lil Brucey: Lil Brucey was found by Big Bruce a wonderful gentleman who was minding his own business one day on an afternoon walk. ... It seems Lil Brucey had fallen off mum and was sitting there all hepless with his big puppy dog eyes just waiting for a lovely person to come help him. Big Bruce took one look at him and his heart just melted. With no mum anywhere to be seen, Lil Brucey was brought into the care of his new mum Desanka. Who just LOOOOVES him! He loves his food and loves when you talk to him and tell him about your day often ,replying with a few squeeks here and there. We hope Lil Brucey will grow big and strong and eventually when hes older, will rejoin his crew and start a family of his own. See more

16.01.2022 As you may have heard, we recently discovered a tick borne parasite in our Kimberley dogs. This is an exotic disease called Ehrlichiosis (said Er-Lick-ee-oh-sis); it’s a first for Australia however it is common in Africa, South America and parts of Asia. Ehrlichia is a bacteria that lives within the saliva of a tick and is transferred when an infected tick bites a dog. It is complex, however we know for sure it is only transferred from one dog to another dog by ticks, this ...is a good thing as it means we focus on tick prevention to stop the transmission of the parasite. Now if you've been to the clinic before, you know we are strong advocates for Nexgard. And this couldn't be more important at this time. Nexgard works by killing the tick when it bites the dog, so unfortunately there is still a risk that the dog may catch Ehrlichia if an infected tick latches on long enough to infect the dog before the Nexgard chemical kills it. Therefore we now offer Seresto tick collars as well; these act like a barrier, repelling ticks from the body, and they are active against ticks for 4 months. When used in conjunction with Nexgard, we feel it is the best chance of protecting your dog against this terrible disease. If you have questions about the disease or its prevention, please call us for a chat.

03.01.2022 PARVO VIRUS! Its back AGAIN!!I In the last few weeks we have seen a huge surge in Parvovirus cases. A few things you need to know about this virus: IT IS DEADLY, and treatment is exceptionally expensive. Even with the best of care there is only a 50/50 chance of survival. Without treatment this disease is a very slow and agonising way to pass.... There is NO instant cure, vaccinating is the ONLY defence against the virus. So we urge you PLEASE VACCINATE YOUR DOGS. The virus is EXTREMELY contagious, so if your puppy is showing signs of vomiting, diarrhoea or inappetance, please be considerate of the other little ones that come though our door. Call prior or wait outside of the clinic, and we will show you to our isolation ward. For all concerns/queries please call us on 9169 1229
02.01.2022 Some very important information for all of our clients. Please read this article and remember It’s so important right now to have your dog covered for ticks. If you have any concerns, please call us on 9169 1229 we will be more than happy to answer any questions.
