20.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: MASKS MANDATORY ON CENTRAL COAST. The NSW Government has just announced at their 11am press conference (and in their latest press release) that ..."Given the general risk in Greater Sydney, new measures are required to reduce the transmission potential of COVID-19 while maintaining economic activity." The following measures for Greater Sydney (including Wollongong, Central Coast and Blue Mountains) are effective from midnight tonight (Saturday 2 January 2021): Face masks will be mandatory in the following indoor settings: shopping (retail, supermarkets and shopping centres), public/shared transport, indoor entertainment (including cinemas and theatres), places of worship, hair and beauty premises. Face masks will also be mandatory for all staff in hospitality venues and casinos and for patrons using gaming services. Compliance will start from Monday, 4 January 2021 with $200 on the spot fines for individuals for non-compliance. Children under 12 are exempt but are encouraged to wear masks where practicable. Gym classes reduced to 30 people. Places of worship and religious services limited to 1 person per 4sqm up to a maximum of 100 people per separate area. Weddings and funerals limited to 1 person per 4sqm up to a maximum of 100 people. Outdoor performances and protests reduced to 500 people. Controlled, outdoor gatherings (seated, ticketed, enclosed) reduced to 2,000 people. Night clubs not permitted. People are still encouraged to limit non-essential gatherings and reduce their mobility where possible to further minimise the risk of transmission in the community. If you feel the need to comment on this announcement, please choose a measured and kind response. NEED MASKS? If you need to buy masks, Survival is a local family-run Central Coast business that produces re-usable masks. Support local and buy from them. For further details on restrictions, check the NSW Government website: https://www.nsw.gov.au//update-on-restrictions-2-january-2 Be Kind. Stay Safe.

05.01.2022 Our service has been recognised for having a healthy food and drink menu! Our menu was assessed by Central Coast Local Health District’s Health Promotion and Nutrition Services as part of its Munch & Move Healthy Menu Award Scheme The assessment looked at whether our menu met the food intake and nutrition requirements of a child based on guidelines in NSW Health’s Caring for Children Birth to Five Years. This incorporates the latest Australian Dietary Guidelines and Infant Feeding Guidelines and looks at how much fruit and vegetables, breads and cereals, iron, dairy and protein foods children in early childhood education should receive. Congratulations to the @kincumberpreschool staff.

02.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS... COVID-19 restrictions for Community Sport, Schools and Weddings are being updated! From this weekend onwards, two adults per child are allowe...d to attend Community Sport matches. But please remember to practice social distancing at all times! From the beginning of Term 4, school sport, inter-school sport and zone competitions will return to operating in the normal pre-COVID way! Parents will be allowed to visit schools in the normal pre-COVID way for activities like reading groups and garden lessons. Year 6 Formals and Graduations are permitted. Playing wind instruments, singing and chanting activities in a School setting are permitted but with strict conditions. School Assemblies and Presentation Days will be allowed to proceed in Term 4. Orientation Days for Year 7 and Kindergarten classes will be allowed to take place in Term 4. Churches can now have choirs or groups of up to 5 people singing together. This decision has been made because activities like singing can cause COVID-19 to spread more easily. Weddings are permitted to have 150 guests if they are held at a place of worship... and up to 20 people will now be allowed to dance. This decision has been made because events like weddings still have the potential to be COVID-19 super spreaders. With the School Holidays beginning shortly, please remember to GET TESTED if you have even the mildest symptoms like a scratchy throat, cough, runny nose or fever.
01.01.2022 ANZAC DAY 25th April. This is a day not of celebration but of national memory. It’s a day when we learn, and learn again, of the horror of purposeless war. It is a day for looking after your mates, cherishing your home, your neighbourhood and family. It’s a day for realising how rare this wonderful country of ours is and how precious it is. For us in early childhood, we talk about remembering all of those who fought for us. The men, the women and the animals. Lest we forget ---
01.01.2022 How lucky are we to explore our local playground, lots of beautiful trees, big green spaces and nature to explore just a short walk away. #kpk #preschoolexcursion #walkinginnature #ourcommunity #oncountry #darkinjungcountry #connectingtonature #connectingtocountry #capableandcompetentchildren
