25.01.2022 The lead up to school is a very exciting time for our Wombats, and the children have been enjoying their visits to the Wombats Preschool. They put on their uniforms and sit at the individual desk either typing on the computer, drawing or writing. Some children have been looking at lunch boxes and deciding on the Always Food that can be packed for school. Play in this area took place in small groups so as all our children for the day had the opportunity to attend classes at Wombats Preschool.

25.01.2022 Today the staff at Kindalin Glenhaven launched their new spring uniforms. To celebrate the launch the staff put on a fashion show for the children and shared a special blue cupcake together.

25.01.2022 The Emus, Koalas and Wombats children were all involved in the story today, Hickory, Dickory, Dash. Miss Melissa the centre Director narrated the story under one of the beautiful trees located in the yard. The children all loved listening to the story, and were very impressed when three of their teachers Miss Valerie, Miss Taylor and Miss Savannah acted out the story as the mouse, the cat and the clock. Today was a special day for Kindalin not only to be involved in the Nat...ional Simultaneous Storytime, but to support a Kindalin tradition for the Wombats children known as the Kindalin Reading Challenge. This story has been featured as a major part of the Reading Challenge and each child was congratulated for yet another story to be added to their reading log. Thank you NSS for providing our children with a great story to read, and for allowing us to be a part of the National Simultaneous Storytime. #NSS2018 See more

24.01.2022 The wombats have been exploring mathematical concepts such as height, weight, capacity, volume, shapes, patterns and numbers. 23.01.2022 Wombats continue to be enjoying their days at Kindalin with so much learning taking place. A favourite time is the outdoor play in our beautiful big yard where they have many choices of activities to engage in based on their interests. This is the time where the childrens imaginations go wild, as educators we never know what type of play is happening until we are involved. They are developing the skills to problem solve, role play real lifer experiences and build their social skills with each other and the educators during this play.

12.01.2022 We were delighted to see so many children dressed in their cultural outfit to celebrate Multicultural Week. This provided the children and educators with the opportunity to discuss the bright/colourful clothing and its originality. The children brought in photos and iconic souvenirs of their cultural background to share in group time. Some of the countries were India, Poland, Italy, China, Australia and Germany. Thank you to the educators and children who came dressed in their traditional costume.

12.01.2022 "Look its my name!" the Koalas said as they practiced writing their name. After many conversations with our families and questions being asked to the Educators about how they are going with writing their name, we decided to incorporate the activity into an intentional teaching moment throughout the experience. Well done to our Koalas!

11.01.2022 Our investigations into under the sea have encouraged the children to explore different ways of learning. Firstly by discussing which animals live under the sea. We used our feltboard song - A Little Fish as well as books and photos to help us identify the many animals which live under the sea as well as other things under the sea, such as sand, seaweed, coral, seashells and water. Some children began their under the sea artworks which will be displayed on our walls and kept for art portfolios. Other children immersed themselves into play experiences at our sensory touch table, filled with sea animals, rocks, water, sand and crepe paper (seaweed). We will continue to build on our under the sea knowledge through art, discussion and play.
