25.01.2022 What would it look like if society changed its view around parenting, motherhood and fatherhood? If we started to really appreciate and value the work being done by parents and caregivers who are; Raising conscious children , healing from generations of trauma and breaking the current system of power-over and domination (aka punishment, smacking, rewards, coercion, aggression etc) What would it look like if we started to value and support SAHM and S...AHD and if we also supported mums and dads who needed to work but were still using every single second they had with their child to really be present, play and listen to tantrums? I think its time we start honouring the amazing work of conscious and aware parenting. How truly difficult it can be and how hard the days can feel But more people are starting to read and become aware of the conditioning in society. That children are people and we can show them respect, set loving limits and love unconditionally. Im starting to see a world filled more more children who wont feel this deep hurt. 24.01.2022 E A R T H I N G I recently watched the @earthingmovie after a friend recommended it. It was incredible powerful and reminded of the natural energy we can connect with, when taking our shoes off and being at one with the earth. So for the last 5 days we have walked to our local park, taken our shoes off and practised earthing. We close our eyes and connect to our earth. Sometimes if the suns shining we lie down and take a few deep breaths. I love it because Mali and Kiki will say Im just earthing for a minute mum. A powerful inner message to receive. Knowing that they can tap in at any time, to the magic of the universe If you havent heard or watched it, I highly recommend

There is, however, decades of research showing just the opposite: that when we accept our children’s feelings and help them to organise their emotions by offering our presence, connection, nurturanc...e, understanding, and guidance, they develop into more secure, confident, and socially and academically competent adults who tend to be able to better regulate their emotions and respond with sensitivity to other’s emotions. . . For both kids and adults, having our emotions rejected or dismissed usually leads to the amplification of the intensity of emotion. In kids, meltdowns and tantrums (emotional dysregulation, stress, and overwhelm) are likely to be more intense and occur for longer when their emotions are rejected rather than accepted. Accepting your child’s emotion and responding with sensitivity, with presence, empathy, and nurturance, can help to soothe and contain your child’s emotion, and help them to organise their emotional experience; this process is called ‘coregulation’ and is the foundation required for children to gradually learn to regulate their own emotions. . . ‘Oh, but what about when they are engaging in undesirable behaviour?’, I hear you say. ‘Should I set limits when they are expressing their emotion is big behaviours?’ Children can’t effectively or consistently regulate their behaviour before they have learnt to effectively regulate their emotion...and lets be real here, many adults haven’t mastered this skill. 20.01.2022 H2O One of the best and most creative ways Ive found to help my children (and myself) drink more water is by adding beautiful colourful and tasty fruit to the water bottle or glass. I love adding strawberries and some mint, both my girls are currently loving lemon or lime in theirs. Its a healthy way to add a little flavour to the water. And it looks so beautiful and inviting!!! We did a little nature activity, we had to find something in our backyard and local park starting with each letter! N and I were quite hard so we used nutmeg and Ivy! They feel safe with us and know we will love the unconditionally. By listening and being a loving space we help them move through the feelings (tantrums, raging, crying) ... They learn that all their feelings are valid. We wont try to fix or change them, which ultimately helps them to be grounded in who they are. Yesterday morning I just felt called to sit outdoors with the girls and do some art They picked flowers and herbs from our garden and used a range of sponges and brushes to paint.
