18.01.2022 ...................REVOLVE FOR HIRE.................. As you may or may not know, Kinetic Sets are specialists in building all kinds of turntables / revolves for the entertainment and events industries. Well I am pleased to say that we can now also offer a full size revolving stage for hire. It is 7.2 metres in diameter and only 204mm high inc ply tops. Its driven by 2 motors on a 32 amp 3 phase input. Can also be supplied with full show deck.. see pics or call 03 90414533 for details.

Here we are working with the talented and death defying 'Reuben dot dot dot' on some pretty unique handstand canes and apparatus.. 12.01.2022 Recently Opera Australia invited Kinetic Sets to build them a highly specced 13 metre dual annulus revolve for use in the Opera House and Arts Centre in Melbourne. So we did to +/-2mm at the edge ! The specs included: Maximum height of 200mm including decking!; A load rating of 500kg per square metre; Hinged sections for rapid bump in / out times between shows; Hydraulic drive with 3 phase power on deck; And the ability to break down into specific sizes for transport in shipping containers. Each of of these parameters combined to present a significant challenge in terms of design, engineering and build. More photos and narrative to follow.....

05.01.2022 Here we are testing at the Opera Australia warehouse. Build time was 4/5 hectic weeks so a quick cheerio to team that made this happen- you know who you are! A mention must also go to the guys at Theatre Safe Aust and Flotek who took care of the automation and hydraulic systems respectively. Good job guys! 04.01.2022 Artist Louise Lavarack recently asked Kinetic Sets to produce a series of nautical wind vanes for her installation 'Sightline 2' on Frankston pier. Each flag represents a letter of the nautical alphabet thus forming a message for world weary travellers. In pic 1 you can see that part of the pier was torn off recently in particularly foul weather. It is of comfort to us that, in the aftermath, the flags were seen to be calmly going about their business..
