As the centre of the low passes over head right now you should see a sudden increase i...n winds from the southwest - South as you get in the western side of the low. Gusts up to 90 - 100km/h are possible this morning before easing by late morning. -Nick

See https://bit.ly/2j9Ivxy for info* Damagin...g north to northwesterly winds, averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 100 km/h are likely about northern, central, western and eastern parts of Tasmania on Wednesday afternoon and overnight. Winds are expected to ease during the early hours of Thursday as the cold front moves to the east of Tasmania, then increase again on Thursday night about the west, Bass Strait and the north coast, as a warm front moves over the state. Locations which may be affected include Devonport, Burnie, Launceston, St Helens, Swansea and Strahan. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Supervise children closely. * Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings. * Manage pets and livestock. * Secure outdoor items including furniture and play equipment. * Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to TasNetworks on 132 004. * Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when driving. * Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further advice. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132500.
