25.01.2022 Junior season’s a wrap!! An outstanding season for the Kings, coming out on top almost double the points of second placed Phoenix! Well done to all.

25.01.2022 Last night we also celebrated some of our high achievers. Our U16s who made the state squad (Sophie Kitto, Abby Browne, Coco Erin, Niamh Bawle and Hollie Nash). Unfortunately due to COVID the competition that was due to be run in Perth in July was cancelled. Our U16s boys who made the state squad (Noah Clarke, Xavier Clarke and Jordan Straatsma). As with the girls, due to COVID the competition that was due to be run in Perth in July was cancelled. ... Our U18 girls who made the state team (Ruby Erin, Jasmine Ashlin, Chloe Kitto, absent: Maddie Straatsma). Due to compete in April, this competition was also cancelled due to COVID. While it’s disappointing to have missed out on your playing opportunity- we are very proud of all you achieved this season. Bring on a bigger and better 2021.

23.01.2022 Last night we got together as a club to celebrate our season. Despite the ups and downs, stops and starts - we were grateful to be on the court playing basketball. Our club ended up having 23 teams and playing in 9 grand finals - a great effort by all players, coaches, team managers, board members and volunteers. Cost is $30. We encourage players to attend all sessions if possible. It not only gives coaches the best chance to work out where you might fit, but is also a good springboard into training for next year.

05.01.2022 End of the season for junior basketball. After lockdown, stop start, shortened season... it’s been a wild ride. I have coached two squads of great young men. ... Despite the stop start nature of the season the boys knuckled down and worked hard. Every single one of them should be proud that they over came the challenges and played some great ball. My dark squad played some of their best basketball in the final game of the season - the semi final - and really pushed a team that had smashed us in regular season. Fynn, Henry, Ollie, Ben, Sebi, Dan, and Harry have been awesome. Having coached Ben, Sebi and Dan in school and club now for a couple of years, it’s been great to get to know these young men. We won some, we lost some but they always wanted to do better every game. My light squad - all lower age Under 18s - won their grand final today today. They didn’t win because they are the most talented team in the league - they won because they stuck to the plan, played as a team and ran every set/system to perfection. So proud of them. Ryan, Felix, Campbell, Isaac, Tim, Ollie, Nick and Kayne... it has been a privilege to coach them and get to know them. I hope I get to coach them again next season. Champions!
