23.01.2022 Another satisfied customer! new tiles and a brand new basin installed to an ordinary toilet space to give it a new life with a modern look.

22.01.2022 I finally had the opportunity to renovate my own bathroom. My clients alway ask me how nice is your bathroom? I just laugh and say it’s honestly the worst. I had missing tiles on the walls and floors where water pipes had burst and, a toilet that had been leaking for 6 months! Not to mention the piece of rope I was using as the shower screen door handle from when I purchased the property back in 2010 ! The list could go on. Haha With this bathroom, I completely gutted ...it. I removed all the plaster back to the brick work, cut out the concrete slab flooring and cut out the door frame and surrounding bricks allowing for a cavity sliding door, helping to create more room and really open up the bathroom. All plumbing was altered and replaced. As I cut and sealed off the water services in the ground and, ran them through the ceiling and down the wall to each fixture. The shower has a hand held attachment and also a rain shower head coming down from the ceiling and operated form a mixer diverter. We decided to go with massive 1200mm x 600mm rectified tiles for the walls and flooring, with eye catching stonework in both the shower recess and the toilet wall area. To highlight this feature, we added led lights in the shower recess, the floating seat in the shower and the floating vanity, along with three 20mm down lights on the toilet feature wall. A custom marri wood top, with a natural front edge for the wall hung vanity, really adds another dimension to the bathroom. Let’s just say we couldn’t of gone with a plain old light for this bathroom, so we went with something you would usually only see in a hotel lobby! Haha. And if all that wasn’t enough, we added in a heated towel rail. Now when I get asked about my bathroom, I can finally say it’s pretty nice. Kingdom Upgrades - contact me for your free quote.

19.01.2022 Replacing a burst shower set can be tricky when working in a reduced area! We were able to find matching tiles from a supplier to complete the job but please remember when building or renovating,always keep a box or two of tiles spare to allow for this type of problem!

17.01.2022 kimberley sandstone This job started with a 100mm concrete slab being poured around the pool followed by topping the entire area with a sand and cement mix and screeding levels and heights to provide drainage. 16 pieces sized at 1 meter in length by 450mm wide and 40mm thick was taken off site to be bull-nosed and brought back to be laid as the header capping.... Each piece of the 600mm x 300mm Kimberley sandstone was sorted and stacked into the relevant shade of colour and the key pieces,in this case the blood red stone being put aside and ready to be used as future pieces. The tiles were laid in a classic brick bond pattern with great care being made not to group too much of the same shade or pattern in one section.

Our client contacted us asking if we were able to install an outdoor shower by their pool to wash down after swimming and of course we were more then happy to accommodate their request. A federation style post was installed to match the existing back verrander,we then ran hot and cold water lines to the location and finished off with complementary tap fixers to match the heritage of the house with a modern appeal.

16.01.2022 Another bathroom completed featuring Egyptian stone tiles! Kingdom Upgrades performed a custom job for our client by laying a ‘random bond’ pattern including a feature wall in the shower. We then flowed the pattern across the floor. Finishing with all joining walls laid in a brick bond pattern.

13.01.2022 PLEASE READ so this doesn’t happen to you! I was called out to a recently completed bathroom Renovation because the home owner found when they had a shower the water would run away from the shower waste and out underneath the shower door to flood the bathroom floor and what water did make it down the drain was just backing up! After removing the tiles that had the incorrect fall I found the concrete slab was paper thin,but what really left me in disbelief was the under... sized waste line that had been installed with extra bends that contribute to flow restrictions an blockages! We were able to fix all the above issue for our client at an affordable price as she had been heavily over charged in the first place. (nicest way of putting it) PLEASE guys do your research and ask around before getting just ANYONE out to work on your home. Their are plenty of highly skilled tradesmen in W.A let’s get behind them! 11.01.2022 Sometimes it’s the little things I get most excited about when renovating. I don’t do a lot of brick work and I do even less face brick. So I was delighted with the results of this window brick up which has now given the client room in their bathroom for a recessed tile box shelve complete with led lighting over a beautiful free standing bath. We have approached the half way point with the bathroom renovation so stay tuned for the end results!

02.01.2022 Sadly this client left their shower leaking for far to long.so in this case a simple cost effective option to do a reseat and replacing the old tap washers with new tap washers wasn’t possible. We needed to remove the wall tiles,cut out the old tap set and install a new one followed by plastering and retiling the shower wall. Being an older home the client had no spare wall tiles and told us she doesn’t believe there would be anywhere we would be able to find them. ... But lucky for them they contacted kingdom upgrades! We were able to find the matching tiles and finish off the bathroom like it never got touched...the only difference is now they don’t have a leaking shower. This lovely 1930’s house situated in Mt Lawley has many lovely futures both inside and out, and I was delighted when asked to give this bathroom a much needed new lease of life. During the stripping out process, it became apparent that this little old bathroom had been through this process a couple of times before. ... With incredibly high ceilings coming in at 3.5 meters from floor to ceiling, this set the stage for this beautiful chandelier to make a statement in the centre of the room. The chandelier bounces light off a lovely 600mm x 300mm tile, laid in a brick bond pattern, which complements the rest of the character and charm this house has on offer.
