25.01.2022 Happy Friday lovey ones! Over the last few months we’ve had a bunch of new people arrive here (on our FB ) so today I wanted to introduce you to the back bone and mastermind behind Kingfisher Tours! This here, walking through the Bungles Carpark at dawn in ALL WHITE like the queen she is (find me a photo of this woman where she isn’t in white jeans or a white denim skirt!) is Kingfisher Tours Director Rosie Sandover affectionately known by family (aka me) as Rozzzzzaaaa...aaaaa Rosie moved to Wyndham in the east Kimberley with 1 daughter (still me) 26years ago as a teacher. Now with 3 daughters, 2 dogs, a project management company that works in community development around remote WA and our favourite tourism company (duh ) Kingfisher Tours, this woman’s got some stories to tell! Rosie brings the , the push for sustainability (as a director on the Ecotourism Australia board) and a strong ethos for local employment. She’s never in a photo but always around IRL to catch up, and if you catch her in the office on a Friday arvo around 5:30pm you may just get to share a champas with this legend! your work Rosie! Thanks for bringing us all together in this beautiful company and forever inspiring the fun we hope y’all love your jobs as much as we do Photo credit to Sarah Duguid

22.01.2022 This country was criss-crossed by generations of brilliant Nations long before Europeans arrived and ‘colonised’. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists. We believe it’s important to acknowledge and celebrate the First Nations people of Australia, especially in the beautiful areas in which we work and... we aim to employ custodian for country guides in all locations we tour to. This NAIDOC week we look forward to introducing you to our 3 Kingfisher head guides. Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land. #naidocweek Sarah Duguid

17.01.2022 You may have heard already that the Bungle Bungle Ranges aren't opening until at least the 9th April now. This is due to the immense rain fall we are getting across the Kimberley. Plus the creeks and Cathedral Gorge will be flowing.. It's an incredible time to be experiencing the Kimberley.... Pic by Brinkley Davies for Australia.com

11.01.2022 "Clinging to the far north-western reaches of Australia, the Kimberley is a sparsely settled place where the dust glows blood-red and aquamarine seas are teeming with sharks and saltwater crocodiles. Vast landscapes make this one of the most enticing adventure spots for 2021 the region is almost three times the size of England, with fewer people per square metre than almost any other place on earth. Whether you’re heli-hiking to uncover ancient rock art, driving along the w...inding Gibb River Road or being pummelled by the waters of the mighty Horizontal Falls, marvel at the fact that these stirring landscapes have been well-trodden by Australia’s First Peoples for tens of thousands of years." 07.01.2022 A little history on the Tropic Rover: The Tropic Rover was crafted in Gladstone QLD as touring vessel for Ron Isbel, a respected charter boat operator, with salt water in his veins, he had an undying respect for Australian waters and it’s incredible reefs. During her time with Ron, The Tropic Rover was chartered for more than just eco tours. Tropic Rover’s sturdy build and smooth sailing and Ron’s reef knowledge were highly sought after and his vessel was regularly chartered... by film and documentary crews and researchers who appreciated his insights, including by the author of Jaws, Peter Benchley, who spent time aboard studying the behaviour of sharks on the reef. As well as assisting in production, research and location scouting for the movies, The Tropic Rover starred in documentaries, was used in the production of the TV Series Flipper and was chartered by National Geographic Australia. On 1 August 2009, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority named a reef in the Mackay/Capricorn Management Area of the Marine Park Ron Isbel Reef in honour of the great respect and knowledge Ron held of the reef. The Tropic Rover has been lovingly restored to her full glory and is now ready to embark on new journey and create new memories with you! . . . . . . . . #thisiswa #travelguide #westisbest #seeaustralia #australiasnorthwest #guardiantravelsnaps #ecotourism #ecotourismaustralia #condenasttraveller #westernaustralia #wanderoutyonder #visitkununurra #holidayherethisyear #condenasttraveller
