24.01.2022 The King Island Artist Residency offers Tasmanian, national and international professional artists working in any artform between two to six weeks of creative time on King Island. Selected artists will be provided with free accommodation and access to a vehicle and studio while on the Island. They are also invited to participate in the cultural life of King Island through informal exchanges with local artists and the community. 21.01.2022 SNEAK PEEK from tonight’s Opening Night event of the latest exhibition Gather by our Artist in Residence, Sophie Carnell. 6pm at the Cultural Centre, bring a drink and enjoy a bite of cheese thanks to the King Island Dairy. This activity was assisted through Arts Tasmania.

15.01.2022 Therese Gabriel Wilkins completed a residency on King Island in 2019, a trip which inspired her to create a body of work around King Island's bird life - endangered, endemic, and extinct. An exhibition of this work will be on display at the King Island Arts & Cultural Centre from Friday 16th April through to Monday 10th May. King Island residents and visitors are invited to join Therese for the official opening of her exhibition on Friday 16th April from 6pm, an artist talk o...n the morning of Sunday 18th April or a workshop on Wednesday 21st April. More details for each of these events will be published on our Facebook page in the coming days. A selection of King Island arts and crafts will also be available for sale at the Cultural Centre for the duration of this exhibition. Open Monday - Friday between 1pm and 4pm, and Saturday - Sunday between 10am and 4pm.

12.01.2022 Nomadic will be at the Cultural Centre this weekend with extended opening hours for the Fathom and Unspoken exhibitions. Friday 4pm - late Saturday 8am - 1pm, 4pm - late Sunday 8am - 1pm... Come down to the waterfront this weekend there will be so much to see and do with exhibitions Poor Souls, Unspoken, Fathom as well as great coffee and delicious food from Nomadic and extended hours at the Museum.

07.01.2022 The Brian Ritchie Trio are back at the Cultural Centre and gathering their wits ready to play their final set on the Island. This trip, anyway Come down and enjoy from 5:45pm tonight while you wait for the final showing of Fathom. And of course the Cultural Centre will be open with Poor Souls on show, and Unspoken installation available at the Old Men’s Shed.
