20.01.2022 If you are coming into the pharmacy, please tell pharmacy staff immediately if you have a fever and/or shortness of breath or cough, and have been overseas in the past month. NSW Health does not recommend face masks for the prevention of infections like the coronavirus (COVID-19). The easiest way to protect yourself and your family is to pay attention to good hand hygiene and respiratory hygiene. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing with a tissue, or cough in...to your elbow, dispose of the tissue into a bin and then wash your hands afterwards. Wash your hands regularly, after using the toilet and before eating. If you suspect you may have the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), please call your GP or Healthdirect for advice on 1800 022 222. Please keep Triple Zero (000) for emergencies only. References: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au, https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/

07.01.2022 The fires currently active across NSW have led to smoky conditions throughout the greater Sydney region. This smoke can affect childrens health as well as our own by causing sore eyes, cough and worsening asthma. It is important that we try to reduce exposure to this smoke when possible. Keep the following tips in mind; People diagnosed with asthma should carry their reliever medications on them at all times. If you are using your reliever more often, ensure you are follo...wing your Asthma Action Plan or visit your GP for a check-up, Regularly check air quality and follow health messages from the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment Air Quality Index Data (https://www.dpie.nsw.gov.au/air-quality/current-air-quality ), Encourage indoor play on days that are visibly smoky, Keep doors and windows closed when it appears smoky outdoors, If you are using an air conditioner, ensure it is cycling air from inside rather than drawing in air from outside on smoky days. Our thoughts are with all of those affected by the fires.
