24.01.2022 KNHS is proud of our recently formed Political Science Club who meet during recess in JG8 on Tuesday and Thursday's each fortnight! So far there is a strong interest in discussing and debating topics on the Presidential elections in America, with the next topic being one on Presidential politics and the platforms of the Democrats and the Republicans.
24.01.2022 Year 9 and 10 iSTEM students participated in the Science and Engineering Challenge in Week 9. The challenge is a STEM event which invites students from all across the state to engage in challenges that would require future focused skills involving critical thinking and problem solving.

15.01.2022 A huge congratulations to year 7 and 8 students who participated in the New South Wales Department of Education Premiers Debating Challenge for 2020. The students did extremely well making it to state level. Well done!

14.01.2022 On Wednesday 17th March Year 8 were the audience for a live performance of the play Cyberia by Brainstorm Productions. The play explored young people's use of the internet, from social media, gaming and online commerce in the context of school and family life. There was a Q and A session at the end. Year 8 were a great audience, showing the performers respect and asking some very perceptive questions.

12.01.2022 Congratulations to our students who graduated yesterday from the youth mentoring program Raise. A program run by Fusion to empower young people to become more resilient, capable and connected. The students were lucky to have Sophie Cotsos as a special guest at the graduation ceremony.

A huge thank you to Najah, Mr Smith and the year 12 hospitality class for their efforts in the organisation and catering of the evening. A special thank you to our special guests, families, teachers and students whose attendance was greatly appreciated and made the evening a wonderful success.

05.01.2022 Picture book excursion to Clemton Park Public School Students of the class 8 Perth have been composing their own Picture Books in English this semester. Students were invited to Clemton Park Public School where they were able to showcase their creations to teachers and students. Each Year 2 class were able to listen and interact with at least two Picture Books that were read out by the authors. Each picture book was filled with fun, colourful illustrations and words that told a meaningful story. The school was then provided with an additional copy of the students picture books to read over and over again. Overall, it was a great program for the students of Kingsgrove North and Clemton Park to engage and interact with each other in a teaching and learning environment through the Reading Initiative.
05.01.2022 On Tuesday the 30th of March, 16 Year 10 students took part in the ABCN Empower program. The program is designed to equip students with the confidence, behaviours and mindsets needed to prepare for the rapidly changing world of work. Students enjoyed chatting with the mentors who shared their own career journeys and challenges, ‘fabulous failures’ and strategies to build resilience. Overall this program can make an effective impact on students as they consider their options for the future. Well done to all students who completed the program.
04.01.2022 Today the student environmental council worked on the preparation for the Multicultural garden. They weeded and mulched the area to be ready for the next planting session. Students have been working hard collecting data and creating their plans for the garden all term and are looking forward to creating a diverse sanctuary for our school. Well done to all teachers and students involved!

03.01.2022 Well done to all the students who contributed to the 2020 'Best Work' book. This annual book showcases the best work of KNHS students in the field of English. As a special acknowledgement of the academic excellence, these students were invited to a morning tea to unveil the book. Thank you to the English faculty, especially Mr Elakis for organising this wonderful book and event.
02.01.2022 On Wednesday, our students attended the annual Young Halogens leadership at Darling Harbour. This is a yearly leadership program that involves high profile speakers and community representatives who talk about their journey and what they currently do. All students that attended did our school proud with Charlotte from Year 9 even asking a question to one of the presenters.

01.01.2022 This term, our Special Education Visual Arts students have been exploring the theme Still Life with the focus on Fruit. Students have experimented with various materials and techniques. They have particularly enjoyed using Oil Pastels. With a little support from SSLO and teacher, students have enjoyed the art making process and have created some wonderful artworks. Well done!
