25.01.2022 Hello lovely clients! Some exciting news! From June 29, Mowbray Vet clinic, Pet’s Life Vet Care and Kings Meadows Vet clinic are trialling a rostered on call system to see if we can all achieve a better work/ life balance whilst ensuring our clients are looked after when they have emergencies outside of business hours. All the info is below, but please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Our after hours phone number remains the same. We hope this will be a viable ongoing arrangement for vets and clients alike. It will be a learning curve for us all, so we thank you for your anticipated understanding. Dr. Deidre

19.01.2022 Until advised otherwise, we are open as normal here are some guidelines from the Australian Veterinary Association to help both humans and animals stay safe and healthy. If your pet needs veterinary attention and: - You have been overseas within the last 14 days - You’re experiencing symptoms - Need to self-isolate... Please phone us for advice and we can make a plan. In line with social distancing recommendations, we are keeping waiting times to a minimum. We ask you to: - Limit the number of people presenting your pet to just one owner - When arriving for your appointment, please wait in your car - Please phone us from your car on arrival and we can return the phone call to welcome you into the clinic when we are ready to see your pet. - Please use hand sanitisers located in the clinic - Please phone ahead to order required prescription medicine repeats or food, worming and flea control in advance so we can arrange to have them ready for you without the need to wait. We are working hard to ensure we can continue to provide complete veterinary care. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. This situation is rapidly evolving, and we will provide updates as required

18.01.2022 How cool is this! Eye removal on a Green tree frog

17.01.2022 What a mix of emotions on Anzac Day. A day where we remember those that have served to save us all, and the ones that are still serving. Humans and animals. A day where we remember the loved ones we have lost, but look around and see the ones that are still here beside us.

17.01.2022 We hope everyone is coping with the new isolation rules

16.01.2022 Take care out there, drive safe if you are going out

15.01.2022 FOOD RECALL Hopefully none of our clients are feeding this to their pets but if you are, please check the Batch Number. If you are feeding this to your pet please give your vet a call.

13.01.2022 Thanks to all who donated to this page over the last month. The pink hair may have faded, but the sentiment has not, and will not. Thanks to the generosity of friends and clients, we have raised $3117.48 for the McGrath Foundation this October. Many thanks to you all. May you never need the McGrath nurses , but if you do, know that their job has been supported by this fundraiser

13.01.2022 Hi clients and friends, As a result of a brief flirtation with breast cancer late last year, with a consequent mastectomy, I personally discovered what the McGrath Foundation Breast Care nurses do on a daily basis for breast cancer patients and their families. They provide a fantastic service! As a result, we are "pinking up" the vet clinic and fundraising this October, via this virtual donation box, and also a donation box at the vet clinic. We are aiming to raise $1000, a...nd if we do, Kay and I will dye our hair pink! We would really appreciate your support, whatever you can manage, even if it's only $1, and I thank you in anticipation. If you click on the link below it should take you to my donation box page. Cheers, Dr Deidre Pyecroft

12.01.2022 A really good chart to help you understand how your dog ages. I've got a couple of geriatrics

11.01.2022 We had this handsome young man Angus in this morning for his 16 week needles. So laid back

11.01.2022 Another cutie we had in this week. She had a few injuries to her front legs after being stuck in some wire. We cleaned her up, removed all the maggots and sutured her wounds. She hadn't had any food or water for maybe a day. She loved the special milk we gave her! Lapped it up greedily! She's progressing very well with her carer.

10.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to all the furdads out there

10.01.2022 We had a very special patient in the clinic today for a health check for Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

08.01.2022 As you have all been patiently waiting, here are Deidre and Kay with their pink hair! Thank you all for your generous donations, we have so far raised $2,800 for the McGrath Foundation! #breastcancerawarenessmonth

07.01.2022 Good evening clients, sorry to be bombarding you with information, but this is so important for everyone to understand. Veterinary services have been classed as an essential service, so we can remain open for business, as long as we all remain healthy. If any of my staff are diagnosed positive for COVID 19, we will have to close our doors. As well as being responsible for the health of my staff, and your pets, we have responsibilities for our human clients’ health also.... In light of the Tasmanian government’s announcement of virtual lockdown for the next four weeks, we have decided to reduce our services to essential matters and we ask you to stay away if you are elderly, at risk, unwell or in self isolation for any reason. The next four weeks in particular are weeks to STAY HOME. ROUTINE VISITS SUCH AS ANNUAL ADULT VACCINATIONS , OR eg NAIL CLIPS, ARE NOT ESSENTIAL AT THIS TIME and we may be phoning you to recommend you cancel any scheduled appointment for such (puppy and kitten vaccinations are still strongly recommended). If you have an appointment and are unsure whether your pet should still be seen, please phone us first to discuss the matter. We are most definitely available for non routine matters but we do have extra precautions in place that we will insist upon everyone adhering to (as per previous post). We will also be able to provide phone consultations for some cases . WE WILL NOT SEE PETS FOR ROUTINE OR NON URGENT MATTERS IF THEIR OWNERS ARE MEANT TO BE IN ISOLATION, EVEN IF THEY SEND THE ANIMAL WITH SOMEONE ELSE. For URGENT matters, we will work around any obstacles as best we can in order to care for your pet but we need you to phone us first, please do not just arrive at the clinic unannounced, and fully inform us of any health or isolation issues that apply to you BEFORE you arrive so that we can take the appropriate precautions. If we all look after one another and only leave our homes for ESSENTIAL reasons, let’s hope we can all get through this time with our health intact. Dr. Deidre Pyecroft
