24.01.2022 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. looked forward to a day of perfect justice. A day when things like race and status wouldnt divide us, but that Gods multi-ethnic fa...mily would unite together in spite of our differences. Dr. King fought for equal and fair relationships between all people, especially the oppressed and disadvantaged. We revisit our theme video on biblical justice in honor of Dr. King and his contribution to The Kingdom. Watch it here. #TheBibleProject #MLKday #Justice

20.01.2022 It was great to spend time with the members of the Rotary Club Of Mordialloc this evening as their guest speaker at their weekly Zoom Meeting. I was able to share a little about The Salvation Army and our work in the City of Kingston Community. Its always a pleasure to spend time with you each and thank you for all the ways in which you support the work we do.

19.01.2022 Just over 24 hours before we wrap up this years Red Shield Appeal. We see first hand where this money goes in OUR community. So many stories of struggle turned into hope. If you can help with a donation, wed be so grateful... thank you! on behalf of those who you are helping through a tough time.

19.01.2022 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII. We pay our respects to all servicemen and women this #RemembranceDay. Lest we forget. Photo: 14 Aug 1945 Salvation Army volunteers celebrate the end of WWII by serving Armed Service Officers.

19.01.2022 We encourage you to watch this video. Whilst Reconciliation Week 2020 is coming to an end, let us not get tired on our continued journey of reconciliation. We must keep listening to understand, to acknowledge the past and the pain it still causes for so many, and work toward a future where all of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander brothers and sisters can live lives that are flourishing. #aboriginallivesmatter

Loving how our community comes together to support those doing it tough. Still plenty of time to donate items before Christmas at our local IGA or at Kingston City Salvos community centre. 16.01.2022 A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Mordialloc who have been busy assembling emergency packs from goods donated by club members and friends These packs contain non-perishable goods including foodstuffs for a few days and personal hygiene items. A snack or a small luxury item is included to give the recipient a small hit of joy to lighten up their day. Along with other organisations, we have the privilege of distributing these to community members who find themselves in a tough space. #unityincommunity

12.01.2022 For those just beginning their recovery journey and those who are further along, our Bushfire Recovery Teams are there to provide support based on individual ne...eds through financial assistance, outreach and financial counselling: https://fal.cn/3b56t The community of Wytaliba was devastated by the fire-storm and received plenty of media attention in the weeks after the disaster, but long-term recovery has been challenging. With poor phone service and many living off-grid, our teams decided it was best to set out in the mobile recovery Winnebago to spend a week with Wytaliba’s residents. My impression was that the community has suffered a great loss, says assessor, Leah. It’s really real once you’re there and see them face-to-face and when you go to people’s properties. Spending time in the community meant that our recovery team was able to put together documents collected, photos taken and any further information gathered to process assessments for financial grants. Leah says they recently received a call from a grateful Wytaliba resident who had received a Stage 2 grant. He was just so appreciative and saying how much it helped in their rebuild process. It gives them an opportunity to finally start getting things cleared and rebuilt so they can settle. #TheSalvationArmy #SalvosBushfireRecovery

12.01.2022 So great to partner with the Victoria Golf Club. Due to CoVid19 restrictions theyve been unable to open their restaurant, so their kitchen staff have been busy making meals for our community members doing it tough. We will continuing to partner with these special people in the weeks and months ahead to bring hope to our community. A special shout out to Adam and Glen (pictured below).

03.01.2022 As renewed stage 3 lockdown measures come into place in Victoria, we pray for all those effected by COVID-19: for the police, The Salvation Army Emergency Servi...ces (SAES) and The Salvation Army teams offering welfare and community support. The Salvation Army was asked to help with the coordination of support in the towers. The teams have extensive experience and pre-existing support relationships with the residents, so The Salvation Army teams were able to coordinate services and act quickly. May God bless all their efforts See more

03.01.2022 Good Evening Friends, June Wallace is currently in hospital and will undergo surgery tomorrow (Tuesday) - was going to be Friday. 03.01.2022 Today is #ANewDay #January26. Yesterday we were #TuningInTogether to #ChangeTheHeart of Australia. As Common Grace we are led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait ...Islander Christian Leaders to pursue friendship and Reconciliation in our lifetime. This means stepping into #ANewDay with shared truth and open eyes, ears, minds, and hearts. We are excited to launch a collaboration of poetry and song created by Brooke Prentis and Helen Wright called "A New Day". It's a great way to start your #January26. "A New Day" was created as Brooke and Helen spent time together on country and reflects a journey of deep listening, learning, spiritual connection, hope, and of course friendship. It paints a vision of a future, for all of us in these lands we now call Australia, where we learn to draw on the olds ways, to learn a new way, to step into a new day, together. With thanks to Chris De Souza for producing this track and Biz Adams for creating this film clip. Looking for what else to do today? Check out our 10 ways to engage with #January26: https://www.commongrace.org.au/how_to_engage_in_jan_26
