25.01.2022 Our Year 9 students in our Show Team have spent the past two days in Adelaide competing in the School Merino Wether Competition. Out of 70 pens, one team of our wethers made it to the final line up of 22 for Best Pen of 3 Wethers, a fantastic effort considering there was 210 sheep for the judges to look at and compare! Well done to all students involved, including the students who were unable to attend due to COVID restrictions. A lot of time and effort goes into preparing animals for a show and your efforts were not unnoticed, so thank you. A massive thank you also to everyone who has been involved in the program for our school and provided our students with the opportunities to build upon their knowledge of the Sheep Industry.

24.01.2022 Covid-19 email sent to all families earlier this afternoon: Dear parent/caregiver, Today the Premier announced a 6 day statewide lockdown starting at midnight tonight (Wednesday 18 November) through to midnight Tuesday 24 November.... In clarification only the children of essential workers and vulnerable children will be able to attend school over the next few days. A skeleton staff will provide supervision but not a learning program for the remainder of this week. If your child needs to attend, we will be here for them, please let us know. All students have been asked to take home school laptops/devices (they have them assigned 8-12), books and anything they need to continue their learning from home. We have been advised by the Department School buses will run as normal for the remainder of this week. More information on learning programs will be provided early next week, as we work our way through the new COVID-19 Directions. All South Australians are making sacrifices to ensure our community remains as safe as possible. We appreciate that this is a significant undertaking for you and your family. Your child's teacher, our support staff and I are here to support you where we can. Regards, Toc

22.01.2022 Dear parent/caregiver The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November. As a result Kingston Community School will be open and operating as normal.... We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program. As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed. As a result we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our site. Wherever possible, please drop and collect your child from the main car park and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults. I do realise this may be difficult as our car parking space is inadequate at home time, but I remind you that we do not supervise the oval area and thus it is a safety concern. Buses will be running as normal. More information on excursions, events and sporting activities, and use of masks will be available soon. Thank you very much for your support over the last couple of days. We look forward to having your child back at school on Monday. Regards Lucretia Tocaciu
