18.01.2022 The most important ingredient of any club is its members. With more choice than ever before in the way that people spend their leisure time, a club’s ability to recruit and retain members is critical to its long term viability. Clubs can’t rely on prospective members to simply arrive at their club anymore. Clubs need to use marketing techniques to attract new members and consistently communicate with them to ensure they are receiving the services they expect. 09.01.2022 Dear KINGpay Customer, Legislation for this is currently not finalised and still needs to get passed through Parliament, in the meantime the ATO is working with us and other providers in this space to role out this allowance to business's throughout Australia. Once the details are confirmed with the ATO on how they want this reported via single touch payroll reporting we will update you further on how to process the payment via KINGpay. Some information on the allowance.... The JobKeeper payment is a $1,500 (gross) fortnightly payment per eligible employee of a business. The amount will be paid to the employer and is designed to assist employers to continue paying their employees. Eligible employers will receive payments from the beginning of May and payments will be backdated to 30 March 2020. The payments will be available for a maximum of 6 months. Key points to note below: *The full amount of $1,500 gross must be paid to eligible employees. This means that if the person’s ordinary gross fortnightly earnings are less than this amount, they will start to receive increased fortnightly payments from their employer equal to $1,500 gross per fortnight. Alternatively, where an employee’s ordinary gross fortnightly income was more than $1,500 gross, the employer can provide the additional top up as required. *An eligible employee is someone who was on the books as at 1 March 2020 and who is retained, or continues to be engaged. This includes those who have been stood down but NOT those who have been made redundant. It will, however be available if a person is subsequently rehired, as long as they were on the books on 1 March 2020. *Available to full-time and part-time workers as well as casuals who had been employed on a regular basis for at least 12 months. *You can only receive the JobKeeper payment from one employer. *An employer is eligible if the business has turnover of less than $1 billion which has reduced by more than 30% compared to a comparable period a year ago (of at least a month). *Eligible employers can register their interest in applying for the JobKeeper payment via the ATO website. It has not been confirmed when formal applications will be available. *Employers with employees will be able to apply online and identify eligible employees. On a monthly basis updates will need to be provided to the ATO but the details of these updates are not yet known. *Employers must continue to pay SGC on ordinary wages, however it is up to them if they want to pay superannuation on the additional job keeper payments. A person who is on the JobKeeper payment cannot also receive the JobSeeker payment *We expect the $1,500 per fortnight to be classified as taxable income, however, this has not yet been clarified. 04.01.2022 The Government is extending the JobKeeper Payment by a further six months to March 2021. Support will be targeted to businesses and not-for-profits that continue to be significantly impacted by the Coronavirus. Employers may seek guidance about employer and employee eligibility from the JobKeeper Payment for business website: www.ato.gov.au/jobkeeperextension or confirm with your accountant The JobKeeper Payment, which was originally due to run until 27 September 2020, will ...now continue to be available to eligible businesses until 28 March 2021. The extension of the scheme applies over the subsequent 2 Quarters, introducing both lower payment rates per quarter than the initial JobKeeper Payment rate and a tiered-rate approach to workers, based upon average hours worked per week in a reference period (see below), rather than a flat rate for all workers. Quarter 3 (28 September 2020 to 3 January 2021) comprises 7 fortnights of: Tier 1 - $1,200 per fortnight Tier 2 - $750 per fortnight Quarter 4 (4 January 2021 to 28 March 2021) comprises 6 fortnights of: Tier 1 - $1,000 per fortnight Tier 2 - $650 per fortnight Reporting of tier level To report the Tier level to which they have assessed eligible employees.the Tier level must be reported as an allowances once using the specific text descriptions only: *JK-TIER1 In Quarter 3, they must be paid at least $1,200 per JobKeeper fortnight. In Quarter 4, they must be paid at least $1,000 per JobKeeper fortnight. If these employees are paid less than these amounts, a top-up payment must be made to the specified amounts and reported, as per the current reporting arrangements for JobKeeper top-up payments. * JK-TIER2 - In Quarter 3, they must be paid at least $750 per JobKeeper fortnight. In Quarter 4, they must be paid at least $650 per JobKeeper fortnight. If these employees are paid less than these amounts, a top-up payment must be made to the specified amounts and reported, as per the current reporting arrangements for JobKeeper top-up payments. *Variations to the exact 8-char codes in all CAPITALS may prevent or significantly delay the ATO reimbursement process. Continue to use JOBKEEPER-TOPUP to cover any shortfall if working or to pay the full amount owing as requered depending on the quarter we are in or the tier the employee is on. Jobkeeper Start and Finish Fortnights Start and finish codes stay in the same format using the fortnight scheme below. This only needs to be reported once to take effect New start example - new eligible employee with JOBKEEPER-START-FN15 would indicate the payment applies from fortnight 15 (12/10/2020 to 25-10/2020) Finish example - if an employee ceases working on 30/10/2020, then JOBKEEPER-FINISH-FN17 indicates the 17th of 26 JobKeeper fortnights was the first fortnight for which the subsidy will not be reimbursed to the employer.
