25.01.2022 When mum and dad are away the kids will.. work really hard and hold down the Kingthing fort Rob and Beck have been off boosting our local economy this week AKA taking some very well deserved time off.. Meanwhile, all 5 remaining Kingthingers are enjoying having full control of the office Spotify account (that typically plays Rob’s jazz tunes all day long) and Taihlaura has a new found respect for Rob and his email upkeeping abilities Happy nearly Friday everyone!

25.01.2022 Can you tell that the boys are a little bit excited to be taste testers for Delicious Little Things latest creation? Thanks Raelene!

22.01.2022 Just popping these photos here to remind us what went down on this day in 2020. The day that Rob was working very late and watched the snow come down in Trevallyn and the rest of us woke up to a once-in-a-lifetime treat. Aaaaand ..... most of us worked from home. Again. Because we're actually quite good at that now!

21.01.2022 We decided to hit reset on our 2020 business plan with our second 'planning day' for the year. This time we visited the lovely Vaucluse Tasmania house in the northern midlands. Nothing could have prepared any business for the first half of 2020 and the future is uncertain for everyone - but it was great to refocus. And you know what? ... working and hearing the history of a place that spans centuries is a perfect way to get some perspective on the times we are in. Thanks Lynette for hosting us.

21.01.2022 Launceston, are you up for the challenge? This year we are participating in Clifford Craig Foundation's Run & Walk for your Heart to help raise awareness for heart disease in Northern Tassie. However, this is not something we can do alone ... so we are putting the challenge out there to our friends, family, clients and collegues to come for a stroll with us and fight heart disease together! Will you join us? Enter here https://bit.ly/2RJNW7p

14.01.2022 Checking out the newest jewel in Launceston’s accomodation crown at Hotel Verge Launceston this morning Thanks Kate Bucknell for showing the team around!

13.01.2022 We are super excited to welcome Crystal as our new Administration Coordinator, organiser extraordinaire, protector of Rob King’s sanity, and our first crazy cat person Previously working as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, she is the perfect lady to pull us all into line when Rob eats the last Mentos or doesn’t make the team’s early morning coffees on time In her spare time Crystal makes Riverside Olympic Football Club run like a well-oiled machine, with sunshine..., rainbows, and inboxes that have less than 100 unanswered emails - what a dream! It was here that former board member Beck King was impressed by her amazing work ethic, adding her to the Kingthing ‘staff wish list’ which is now coming to fruition. Happy days Welcome Crystal! We can’t wait to see you in action

13.01.2022 It's Footy Colours Day for Fight Cancer Foundation and we started the day with a rousing rendition of 'Up there Cazaly' interrupted by Rob King playing 'You'll never walk alone' Liverpool FC anthem. There is a lot going on in this photo: Taihlaura Denman-Francis finally gets to show off her new 'Swanny 4 Eva' tattoo (don't panic Nan, it's photoshop!). Gemma is flashing her pearly-whites and using her netball skills to grab the Sherrin , Jonathon is wearing his 1994 North ...Melbourne Football Club guernsey (that is older than Gemma!) and anticipating an incoming falcon - or is that just his workload, Rebecca is football-clueless but she is perplexed by the disproportionate amount of Collingwood Football Club supporters in the team and she likes the colour of the Launceston Football Club scarf so she is running with that. Finally, Rob King still has dreams of playing for Liverpool but Riverside Olympic Football Club will do just nicely. Thanks: Brodie for the photo and Jono for the 'subtle' editing. See more

12.01.2022 First impressions matter, and we think the new first impression of Matson Catering's website and brand logo evokes allllll of the good feelings We're also quietly pleased that now the website is finished Josie will (hopefully) stop drooling over the food photos taken by Clint & Bethanie for the website - win, win P.S You have to try their finger sandwiches and lamingtons. Oh and the peking duck wraps!

12.01.2022 Gayle from Purple Thistle Deloraine loved her Digital Ready mentoring session so much that she came back this afternoon with flowers for Taihlaura to say thank you Good work T-Rex you mentoring superstar!

11.01.2022 End of year wrap up - the Jono edition! Q1. What is your favourite memory from this year Jono? Mmmmmmmmmm...... Q2. A work achievement/project/moment you’re most proud of? Probably Black Diamond Bike Racks. It was just a quick little logo. It hits the mark with the target market/audience and I can see this product going global in years to come. I see the logo all the time when I ride and I am super proud of that idea!! (and how the design came about) Q3. Despite travel being somewhat out of the question this year can you tell us what your favourite spot to visit in 2020 was? The Keep, Gould’s Country - I have never experienced anything like it. The remoteness and beauty of it was mind-blowing Q4. If someone wrote a book about your year what would it be called? Designing for Councils. Q5. Any New Year resolutions? Learn Canva

10.01.2022 End of year wrap up - the Claire Murfet edition Q1. So Claire, what is your favourite memory from this year? I’m going to plural it up and go for memories from this year, because there’s been so many amazing #mems just watching my little Willow grow into a toddler and discover the world around her ... Q2. A work achievement/project/moment you’re most proud of? I loved putting together a new website for the Freycinet Experience Walk during lockdown. I’m also really proud of how many businesses we were collectively able to help through the Digital Ready program, the amount of mentoring sessions this year was craaaazy, but it was really rewarding to play a small part in helping businesses kick COVID-19 to the curb and pivot their offering or improve their online presence. Q3. Despite travel being somewhat out of the question this year can you tell us what your favourite spot to visit in 2020 was? Unoriginal, but Bridport is still my favourite spot. Especially after not being able to visit for a while this year during lockdown, that first sniff of salty air was the best Q4. If someone wrote a book about your year what would it be called? The ultimate search for balance Q5. Any New Year resolutions? To be more present.

10.01.2022 What a busy time we are having. We are slaaaaack on socials lately. See, even the marketing company drops the ball sometimes! You will be pleased to know that we still make time to celebrate birthdays. So.... happy birthday for tomorrow Josie Murray! Nice flowers from your friend. #marketing #launceston

10.01.2022 And last but definitely not least our final end of year wrap up - the Taihlaura edition! Q1. What is your favourite memory from this year? Being able to witness life's ‘special moments’. From a wedding to engagements, babies being born all moments that put life into perspective for a moment in time ... Q2. A work achievement/project/moment you’re most proud of? I have really enjoyed working with an array of businesses that despite COVID-19 throwing their original plans, they persevered and created a greater business offering that will change the way they operate for years to come. Q3. Despite travel being somewhat out of the question this year can you tell us what your favourite spot to visit in 2020 was? This year has been a great opportunity to explore our own backyard. I have stayed in places such as Tullah that I never would have visited otherwise. But, nothing beats the smell of salty air and sand in between your toes at the beach - glad to have this luxury taken for granted back! Q4. If someone wrote a book about your year what would it be called? A way to become fit in a pandemic Q5. Any New Year resolutions? Learn how to create greater balance and switch off.

10.01.2022 Congratulations Bridport Brave Winter Swim on a great event. We loved working on your branding! Great work to our graphic designer Jonathon Bishop - did you see they have challenged you to a swim?? Maybe next year.

09.01.2022 Fitspo Friday’s in the office today with the team from Cory Hearn Personal Training dropping by for some Digital Ready training

09.01.2022 It's a wrap. We've done 2020 (or did it do us?) and we are ready for some chill time with our darlings. Like many, Rob and I are feeling a little bit broken and are taking time to bunker down, chill a bit and get ready to arrive in 2021 fresh as daisies. Thanks to our lovely clients, friends and family for your unending support and most of all thanks to the Kingthing Team. What we have achieved together for our clients despite many speed humps and tough times, has been impressive. Love to you all, we will be back on the 11th of January and everyone please appreciate the time you have with your loved ones while you have them around. xx Rebecca (and Rob) PS: I had to wait till Graphic Designer Jono was on leave so I could reprise my dodgy graphic design skills!

09.01.2022 When you're out and about on the weekend and you see your latest creation in the wild. Thanks Brant from Black Diamond Bike Racks for working with us to design your new visual brand recently. We love our clients!

08.01.2022 Last night Taihlaura Denman-Francis spoke on a panel for Northern Young Professionals Network all about how businesses have pivoted, adapted and innovated during the Covid lockdown. New strategies, branding, content, you name it, we've helped them. Great to see some of our lovely clients from Sweetbrew on the panel too.

07.01.2022 We've added to our own covid-kilos with our annual Launceston Central City Winterlicious staff tasting challenge. Over the last month we have tasted every toastie in the competition from Mojo on the Avenue, Neil Pitt's Menswear, Great Scot Cafe, VegOut Tasmania, Sweetbrew, The Metz, Samuel Pepy's Cafe, Local Hideout Cafe, Yolanda Jean Cafe, Tinka Coffee Brewers, Acreage Tasmania, Beatha Milkbar Cafe, Earthy Eats, Mad Apple and Bryher. We were super impressed with all the entr...ants. There was much debate in the office and everyone scored highly but the leaderboard showed that Beatha Milkbar Cafe was our overall winner, Sweetbrew came in second and Mojo on the Avenue was a third. But seriously congrats to all entrants for such innovation and a focus on great taste, we are so lucky to live in such a foodie focussed city. Let's see who wins the official Cityprom competition! 05.01.2022 End of year wrap up - the Crystal Neep edition . Q1. What is your favourite memory from this year? Seeing the way everyone banded together in the community during lockdown - positive messages, community sharing, teddy bear hunts for the kids ... Q2. A work achievement/project/moment you’re most proud of? Starting at Kingthing Marketing. Having now made it through 6 weeks without messing anything up Q3. Despite travel being somewhat out of the question this year can you tell us what your favourite spot to visit in 2020 was? Bicheno, I love the beach and have stayed there twice since we have been allowed to travel again Q4. If someone wrote a book about your year what would it be called? Turning 40 and the year’s travel plans do not happen. Q5. Any New Year resolutions? To take my time and enjoy 2021!

04.01.2022 End of year wrap up - the Josie Murray edition Q1. What is your favourite memory from this year? My partner and I bought a block in Hadspen so that is probably my favourite moment. ... Q2. A work achievement/project/moment you’re most proud of? Website wise I’m proud of Matson Catering's new site, but that wouldn’t look half as good without Jono’s new branding, so it’s a team effort. I just wrote a piece on Tasmania for Tas Gas that I'm pretty stoked with too - I do love a bit of copywriting! Q3. Despite travel being somewhat out of the question this year can you tell us what your favourite spot to visit in 2020 was? This is probably lame! But, my new favourite spot is just sitting by the Hadspen river near our new block. Taking our dog ‘Tank’ down there, and watching the world go by is always a good way to refresh and wind down. Memories which are even more special now as since writing this our beautiful doggie Tank has sadly passed away.. Q4. If someone wrote a book about your year what would it be called? Confessions of a fried chicken addict and other tales. Q5. Any New Year resolutions? To get back into 2019 shape #fitspo. Oh, and to play more golf with dad when I can - the older I get the more I appreciate those little activities with the ones I love.
