25.01.2022 We’re very excited to be back in salon tomorrow doing what we love. We’re looking forward to seeing all our regular clients as well as meeting lots of new ones we have coming in. We’ll be doing everything we can to keep you safe. We already implement high infection control protocols but we’re going above and beyond. ... There is a sign on the door with some questions on it. Please read it before each time you enter. If you answer yes to any of the questions, please don’t enter and give us a call to discuss. We will temperature test you on arrival. Upon entry we ask that you sanitise you’re hands. Sanitiser is located at the desk directly as you enter. Please ask a therapist to assist you with makeup testing, rather than touching testers. Please maintain social distancing. We have separated our chairs. If you notice more than 3 customers in reception we ask that you wait outside until reception has cleared. We will be utilising the upstairs studio area to reduce congestion as much as possible. If you come in to buy product or make an appointment or any other reason we need to keep your details to meet contact tracing requirements. Lastly if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment we ask that you do it with as much notice as possible. We’re busy and have people wanting to get in, so the more notice you give us, the more chance we have to fill it. 24.01.2022 I have been relatively quiet in regards to our industry restrictions, partly because I have been hoping for and expecting change and partly because it’s difficult to process the impact it has on us as a skin clinic. Our clinic agreed we needed to step back while we got covid numbers under control. In fact during the first round we closed our doors before we were under forced closure. We also began to wear masks before it was mandatory to go the extra mile, but now we see neg...lect of our industry as restrictions ease. As an industry we are not asking for special treatment, we are asking for fair treatment. We are asking that our infection control policies and procedures be taken into account and we are asking for mask allowances to be made as they are in many other industries. As therapists we are happy to continue to wear PPE. We offer a very controlled environment with everything doused in virucide continuously. We have exceptional contact tracing abilities and ability to screen every client. Our skin treatments are safe, and for many they are essential! Did you know we are often the first to detect and refer for cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions? Today we see 0 cases(again) in Regional Victoria, with a rolling average of 0.2. With these figures and the fact that there have been ZERO cases transmitted from a salon Australia wide it is time for us to be allowed to get back to treating skin. Keep in mind every other state is working unrestricted and that we were able to treat skin while COVID-19 was actively circulating, again ZERO transmission. Mask allowances have been made so you can: Get your teeth whitened without a mask (dental sits as one of the top covid risk industries) You can have lip, cheek or chin filler without a mask. You can have a sex worker call out (tell me a man isn’t making the decisions!) Eat at a table of 10, in a venue of 40 unmasked patrons Go to the pub and drink with other unmasked patrons. While I am happy for any and every industry having restrictions lift, and allowances made it is time for ours to be included.

15.01.2022 Hello 2021, we’re glad you’re here! 2020 sure threw it’s fair share of curve balls and challenges but it certainly didn’t knock us down. Amongst the chaos and stress of owning a small business under heavy restrictions and closures there were so many positives both professionally and personally. ... Professionally I think the biggest positive for me was seeing my salon bounce back after closures. We have such a loyal client base who were ready to support us as soon as the doors opened and it was truly heartwarming. I also had time to launch our online store, update the website and research products and equipment and bring them into the salon, many of which we simply haven’t had the time to launch.....2021 has some awesome treatments coming at you! Another positive was watching my team grow both in number and professional development. I’m super proud of the kind, caring and talented team I have surrounding me at Kin. We got to see Danielle welcome Mia into the word.....and man she is a cutie! Personally We were lucky enough to get a Byron Bay holiday in before Covid hit. I had more time with my family and we got to take it down a gear and just enjoy being with each other. We rode bikes, went for big walks, cooked delicious dinners, played games and snuggled up to watch movies. Appreciating the slow is something we’ll be taking with us into 2021. My kids survived homeschooling and they made me so proud of how they tackled the year. My husband continued to kick goals with clear brain scans. His strength and determination are something I continue to admire. Lastly we had a new member join our family just before Christmas, our pup Pablo. He is an absolute dream and has already bought so much joy into our lives. So Happy New Year everyone. Let’s hope 2021 is a little more predictable, but if not we’ll get through. It’s how we roll! This system allows us to go paperless with our consultations and easily keep track of your appointment history and notes all in one place. It also allows us to introduce a rewards program for our clients that will see you earning points redeemable on services. We will be linking in an email system too so we can keep you up to date with all our promotions, tips and tricks and useful inf...ormation. We won’t bombard you and you will have the option to opt out at any time. We have altered our reminders to 48 hours prior to your appointment to give you time to make changes to your appointment if need be. This also gives more time to enable other clients to take advantage of appointments that become available. Appointment times are the lifeblood of our small business. We’re now taking a 25% deposit for appointments that can be transferred with any changes made with more than 24 hours notice. 10.01.2022 We have an opening date! 1st June. I’m doing a little happy dance in celebration this morning. I have absolutely loved the time I have had to spend with my family since we shut our doors on March 25th, but having a small business during this time has certainly not come without stresses. ... 04.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day One of the things I miss the most about being in salon is the opportunity for connection. The conversations, listening to clients offload in a neutral and confidential space, being a place of calm. Over the years I have built relationships with clients, we’ve hugged, we’ve cried and we’ve laughed a lot too. Connection with another human should never be underestimated and is more challenging than ever in these COVID times. I may not be able to perform you...r treatments right now, but I’m still here to listen if anyone needs a chat and I’m asking RUOK? If you had’ve asked me a couple of days ago, I probably would’ve said no, but today is a new day and I am OK. I’m grateful for my beautiful family and friends, the roof over my head, the sunshine, my health, and you guys who continue to show your support. Reach out and check in, not just today, but often. 04.01.2022 The photos don’t do this transformation justice, in part because the before doesn’t highlight the severity but also because it doesn’t portray texture. This clients skin had formed a thick build up of skin, had cracks to the point where some bled and her skin was constantly flaking. It was incredibly inflamed, painful and itchy. Fast forward a few weeks using just 2 prescribed Dermaviduals products and here we are with almost no skin build up or flaking, no itching, burning ...or painful sensation and a HUGE reduction in inflammation. This client was told medication was the ONLY option, even though it hadn’t worked for her in the past. While medication has its place and is sometimes necessary, please don’t feel like it’s your only option. This client was recommended to me by another of our skin clients after an inappropriate treatment had been performed elsewhere that left her in pain for 3 weeks. I am so glad she trusted me with her skin journey and I’m so excited to see further improvements over the next few weeks and months. Seeing her skin and hearing of the relief it had given her literally made my eyes well up. This is why I love what I do!

Amy has added Monday 21st & Tuesday 22nd December and has extended hours from 7-8pm on Thursday evenings. Bookings are getting tight and we’re doing the best we can to get you in. 01.01.2022 ONLINE BOOKINGS NOW OPEN From Thursday 19th we can re-open with some restrictions. We can perform all services where a mask can still be worn. While this does eliminate the ability to perform facials we are offering skin consultations where we can tailor an at home facial for you and/or create your perfect at home routine. ... We’re so happy we can be back in salon offering a whole range of beauty services including: Brow sculpture Lash lifts Tinting Henna Brow lamination Waxing SHR and IPL hair reduction Shellac manicures and pedicures Massage On another note, there will be some changes as we adapt to the new restrictions and Danielle’s maternity leave. We will be closed Mondays(for the time being) and no longer offering lash extensions.
