23.01.2022 Article: "Most people erroneously think having an eating disorder means you are currently starving yourself or running to the bathroom after meals. However, an ...eating disorder does not always result in hospitalization or rehabilitation. An eating disorder is not always noticeable. An eating disorder, for many men and women, is not something that is automatically overcome just because you begin eating normally again." See more

20.01.2022 "PTSD following neonatal intensive care is rarely spoken about, and mums just like me hide away."

19.01.2022 Article: "Unfortunately because of diet culture and bogus beauty standards, many people know what it’s like to look in the mirror and not like what they see. Mo...re than half of Americans say they want to lose weight. And while this disordered relationship with our food and self-image does affect people greatly, unless you have an eating disorder, it’s hard to imagine what it’s really like. Because an eating disorder is not solely about food or a pursuit to look beautiful. For those who have the mental illness, it can be so much more than that." See more

18.01.2022 It has taken me hundreds of hours (literally) of listening to podcasts, reading, webinars and attending professional development days to see how diet culture m...anipulates, oppresses and takes away a person’s ability to be their true, authentic self. I hear it from my clients who are living it. I emotionally identify with them and so desperately want them to see what I can see. https://www.nourishnotdiet.com//changing-the-way-you-think

15.01.2022 ANZAED recognises that some of the content of this article may be upsetting or trigger unpleasant emotions. Creative cartoonist shares her story and that people... with eating disorders come in all shapes and sizes, deserve help no matter their size and can recover. At the height of my disorder and throughout my recovery, I spent months searching the Internet for different variations of Can I be fat and anorexic? in a desperate attempt to find any shared experience. What I found wasn’t exactly encouraging. 15.01.2022 it’s not something people should do unless your weight loss is more important than your life. This source has a bias towards plant-based eating, but the advic...e of the interviewee about seeking out and interrogating all the research is great, and the point about separating short-term ‘on paper’ effects from long-term life limiting events is spot on https://www.plantbasednews.org//no-one-should-be-doing-ket

11.01.2022 what I came to understand through making Investigating Body Dysmorphia, is that BDD isn't really about bodies at all. Talking to people with body dysmorphia made me question how I see myself http://www.abc.net.au//ruby-jones-body-image-eati/11682186

10.01.2022 "Saturated fats aren’t just saturated fats...They don’t all increase your risk of cardiovascular disease" Note: the consensus for food groups is now as follows-... Positive correlation with health & mortality: fruit, veg, wholegrains, nuts/seeds Neutral relationship: dairy foods, eggs, pale-ish meats incl fish and chicken Negative correlation with health and mortality: red meat (mild effect), chargrilled/burned meats, esp red meats (definitely negative), and nitrate/nitrite preserved meats like some hams (definitely negative) As always, dose is of critical importance and eating the foods with negative relationships every now and then is no big deal at all. 'Party' foods are only an issue when they crowd out the 'core' foods, over a lifetime of eating..... https://www.theage.com.au//is-saturated-fat-as-bad-for-us-
