15.01.2022 KBV State Titles Update The KBV committee have meet and discussed the Virus situation with regards to going ahead. We have been on the phone this afternoon and consulted with both Parks Vic and City of Port Phillip. Both of these government organisations have given KBV the go head, (they have with every other event they manage and control) because our event participation levels will be about 30 competitors and 30 to 50 spectators. This is well under the current Government event gathering restrictions of 500 people. Naturally... you can all make your own decision to attend or not.

11.01.2022 Important Covid-19 restrictions update for Victorian kiteboarders- https://www.kiteboardingaus.com.au//important-covid-19-re/ -- Over the past few days Kitebo...arding Australia has been in discussion with relevant Victorian government authorities. We have some exciting news to share with our community in relation to the easing of restrictions and their relation to Kiteboarding. Kiteboarding is now classified as permitted exercise under the current Covid-19 stage 4 regulations. This means you can now leave your house to go kiteboarding if you live within 5km’s of a kite beach. We understand that this is difficult for those who are further than 5kms, however we hope that we will be all back on the water together soon. From Sunday (13th of September at 11:59pm) the rules are changing to allow you to leave the house for two hours, meaning it is realistic that you can leave your house, get to the beach (within 5km’s) and go for a session. We have been advised that any breaches to any of the social distancing rules will come under scrutiny, so please do the right thing, keep to the Victorian Government rules and follow the below guidelines. -Stay up to date on your local council, state and federal government health and safety recommendations and laws in relation to Covid-19, including beach closures - Ensure you wear a mask while rigging, on the beach & carry one in case of a rescue on the water - Maintain physical distancing (1.5m distance from another person) - Refrain from carpooling and sharing equipment - Refrain from going out in stormy, frontal or unpredictable conditions - Play it safe and kite within your ability - Ensure you inspect your equipment each session making sure it is safe to use - Undertake a thorough risk assessment each session assessing the conditions, locations and your ability Summer is on its way and although we are unable proceed with the Season Launch Kiteboarding Expo this September in Melbourne. We do plan on making this event happen when restrictions allow and when safe to do so, we will keep you updated to how this unfolds. Through September and October, any new member registrations or renewals will go in the draw to win a new North Kiteboarding Reach 9m kite. So if you’re able to get back on the water, make sure you are covered! Kiteboarding Victoria (KBV) | KITE REPUBLIC | SHQ Boardsports | The Zu Boardsports | GoKite
